ITunes 11 / where is the repeat button in Mac version?

In iTunes previous versions, there was a repeat-play button (it toggled:  repeat track or repeat entire playlist or don't repeat) down at the bottom of the source panel, same general area as the shuffle button.    Now the shuffle button is up by the playlist title (and it doesn't cause the main window display order to resequence any more, which is ABSURD), and the repeat button is nowhere to be found as far as I can tell.
In the latest version for iOS of iTunes,  there is still a functional repeat button on the artwork view of a currently playing track.  It will definitely repeat one track, I'm not sure what the toggle to repeat does if it's turned while a playlist of multiple albums is playing.
Anyway what happened to the repeat functions in iTunes 11??     They seem to have vanished from the Mac version at least.
And what's with the lack of "what you see is what you get"  when you turn shuffle on in iTunes 11, and the main window display doesn't  update to reflect the new sequence of play?   Why should we have to look up in that UpNext thing to see what the shuffled order of play is?!

Hi, I don't have any in 10.4.11 either.

  • Where is the "repeat" button for songs/albums/playlists?

Where is the "repeat" button for songs/albums/playlists? It used to be next to the random play button.

You can access the repeat options if you right-click on the shuffle icon, or if menus are enabled you can use
    Controls > Repeat > Off | All | One.
Once the control is visible you can click it to switch between states as before. If the control is turned to off it disappears on the next track change. In contrast the shuffle control remains visible whenever it is appropriate. Hopefully the next release will fix this.

  • Where is the repeat button

    Where is the repeat button

There is no "repeat" button that you press to repeat a particular song.  The previous song command goes back to the start of the current song, or to the start of previous song if you press it during the first few seconds of a song.  So you can repeat a song that just played.
There is a Repeat setting, that will continuously repeat the same song.  On older iPods with click wheel, this setting is on the iPod's Settings screen.  Set it to One.  On newer iPod with a touch screen, there is a button for the Repeat setting on the Now Playing screen (symbol looks like two arrows in a loop).

  • Where's the repeat button on the new version of iTunes?

I recently downloaded the new iTunes, and it was there. Then I pressed it for a song, and then it was gone. I've closed iTunes, but it hasn't come out. (Sorry if this is an easy fix, but I use this feature a lot!) Thanks!

  • Where is the photos button in the new version of iTunes?  Need to sync photos from teh computer but photos buton doesn't exit or is hidden.

Where is the photo button in the new version of iTunes?  I need to sync photos from the computer?

On iTunes 11 you can re-enable the sidebar via View > Show Sidebar. To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from you library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

    Hello Community,
I updated both the Remote app and iTunes to the most recent iTunes 11. When I got to enter my Passcode to add my iTunes library it prompts me to "open iTunes on your computer and selct "yourdevice" from the Devices list. I go into iTunes but can't seem to know where to go. Where would the remote button be located?
In iTunes Help center directions are as stated:
"Pair Remote with an iTunes library
1.Tap Remote on your device’s Home screen.
2.Tap Add an iTunes Library.A 4-digit code appears.
3.Open iTunes on your computer and click the Remote button .

If you can help please direct me in the easiest way possible. Thanks!

    2. Touchez Ajouter une bibliothèque iTunes.Un code à 4 chiffres apparaît.

Which tab in the iTunes app are you in ? If you are in the Downloads tab then the Ts & Cs link shows if you don't have any outstanding downloads - your download and synced films and TV shows should be in the Videos app and your music, audiobooks and audio podcasts in the Music app

Under the Summary pane or tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Have you never synced your iPhone with iTunes on your computer? If you have, you should know how to access the various panes or tabs for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. The same applies to syncing an iPod if you have ever owned an iPod.

Just bought a nano and want to download some of my iTunes library. The "Music" button shows almost all my selections but some albums are missing, yet ONLY those albums appear on the nano icon on my desktop after being dragged there but none of the others. What's happening?
I've read some of the post here that I thought might help but they refer to titles (Music) and triangles in the "Devices" window which are nowhere to be seen when I open the "Devices" window.
I have iTunes 11.0.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8. Does this make a difference?

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

  • Where has the visualizer button gone?

where has the visualizer button gone in the bottom right corner?
bit of a pain as i used it quite often

iTunes 7 is pretty smart overall, nevertheless I have a few serious gripes with the interface. Firstly the little 'snowflake' icon on the bottom right that switches on the visuals has been replaced by the browse and burn icons. Was there a problem with the previous layout? My wife and I use that button everytime we turn on the visuals on our Mac Mini sound system in the living room. It was super convenient because you could move in a single mouse sweep from selecting a playlist to switching on visuals. With iTunes 7 you have to either select from the pop-down menu or switch to the keyboard and press cmd+T. It might not seem such a big deal to some but it's definitely a backwards step, no matter how small.
The album art selector/display is very cool and niftily programmed however I'll never use it. The reason? Because if you fill it with album artwork, all those images are displayed over the visualiser at the start of each tune, which I HATE. I don't want sleeve designs ruining the beauty of G-Force which I paid good money to see. It's bad enough having the track info show when I already know what's playing! iTunes 7 is simply not configurable enough if you ask me, and hey, you shouldn't have to start configuring Fkeys to make up for the fundemental lack of choice in the program preferences.
I have a pal who loves the gapless playback in the new iTunes 7 because it's great for mix cds. Well maybe that's the best playback feature of iTunes 7 but I'm afraid it doesn't make up for the loss of the visualiser button, so there!

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
