ITunes 11 - wireless sync gone?

I'm running iTunes 11 on a windows laptop.
I have an iPad 2 and iPhone 5 running the latest iOS software.
The ability for iTunes to wirelessly find/sync my iOS devices does not work.
Has this function been disabled from iTunes 11?

I am in the same boat, I think its unfortunate they promote a feature that no longer works... they should get this fixed!

Why does the iPhone drop from iTunes during Wireless Sync?

Alright, so in my bedroom I have full wifi bars, occasionally when I move to the far corner I drop one single bar on the wifi but other than that, I never have a problem. Until I try to wireless sync. Then the iPhone 4 switches back to 3G for less than a second and then goes back to wireless again (still pleanty of bars on wifi). Of course, this is just enough to stop the phone from syncing wirelessly with iTunes.
I have done speed testing and local network ping testing and all that kind of thing, there is no reason for the iPhone to drop the wifi connection. I can stream netflix or hulu at maximum quality over my local wifi. Using iSSH I can VNC into the Mac without problem and using Filez I can SFTP to the mac or use AFP and transfer files without issue. I even transferred 2 Gigs worth of files from my living room to the bedroom over the local wifi with consistant good speed.
What gives? Is this some kind of strange design flaw or what?
This ONLY happens while trying to wirelessly sync with iTunes. And after, I cannot try to sync again until I reboot my phone and restart itunes.

Have you gone to the video tab (in itunes) and selected sync movies and selected the movie that you want synced?

Iphone 5 / Ipad not visible in itunes for wireless syncing

Could anyone shed any light in to why my devices randomly decide not to show in the left hand side of itunes when they can sometimes be only a few feet from the router - it does seem to be random as they often do show - but you can guarantee when I want to wirelessly sync they do not show and I'm back to good old tethering again.

I have the same issue, with my brand new iphone 5s, and my 4 month old dell desktop. The computer recognizes the iphone when i plug in the usb, but itunes will not. I dont know what to do.

Wireless sync intermittant

I can occasionally get iTunes to wirelessly sync with the iPhone and iPad, but its vry intermittant. They show up in iTunes, but when I select sync, it goes to looking for iPad or iPhone, then claims it can't connect. The device listing disappears for a few seconds or minutes, then reappears. Try again to sync, same problem. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the wifi for the devices and the computer as well as restarting the devices, the computer and my router. Sometimes these things work, sometimes not, I can't find a method to the madness. Anyone esle having these issues or have any suggestions?

I have been having this problem too, however it seems the problem goes away if it's plugged into a charger... my phone was at 53% and was showing up in iTunes then disconnecting when I tried to sync (iPad too). I plugged my phone into the wall charger (not the USB) and now it's fine. Seems a bit pointless... may as well just plug it into my iMac and sync it, defeats the purpose of Wifi completely.

As it should have been transferred to your computer when you synced, you can contact itunes support and ask for an exception.

Ok I got my computer worked on so I had to reinstall itunes now everything is gone on my itunes and it won't let me sync my ipod not sure what to do

Ok I got my computer worked on to remove viruses so I had to reinstal itunes now everythings gone from my itunes tried to sync my ipod it won't sync my music ,apps, or pictures back to itunes it says an ipod should only be synced with one itunes library and im supposed to have only one it gives me a choice to erase and sync or tranfer purchases so I click tranfer purchases so I get a error message itunes was unable to load class information from sync services Reconnect or try later I am not sure what to do.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Next try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

Using the USB cable, connect your phone to the computer you want to sync with. Let the phone sync.
In the left-hand pane, click on your iPhone under Devices.
Select the Summary tab along the top of the screen.
Under Option, is the checkbox for Sync with this Phone over Wi-Fi checked? If not, check it and click Apply.
If it was already checked, do the following:
Uncheck it
Click Apply
Disconnect the iPhone from the computer
Plug the iPhone into the computer again
Check the Sync over Wi-Fi checkbox
Click Apply
Disconect the iPhone from the computer
Now go under Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and see if you can sync wirelessly.

Windows 8 and iTunes Wireless Sync

I have two windows PC's, one with windows 8 and the other with windows 7.
They both do not have third party internet security installed, and both just rely on the windows firewall.
I've noticed that even after disabling the windows firewall and defender on windows 8, that my iPhone 4S is unable to wirelessly sync with iTunes.
The windows 7 computer doesn't seem to have this problem at all once the firewall is down.
That obviously eliminates problems with my router.
Does anyone know a work around for this problem on Windows 8?

it worked the first few times i did it but the next day after i closed out of itunes once, the device only appears when i plug in my phone.

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to

Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

Why wont iTunes wirelessly sync with my iPhone 5?

Hi, I was wondering if somebody could help me.
I have an iPhone 5, I am running the latest version of iTunes on my iMac and my iPhone is displayed on iTunes. It is ticked to wirelessly sync. Both devices connect to my home wifi. However more often than not when I want to wirelessly sync some new podcasts or music to my iPhone (I tick what I want and then click apply) a box appears and says "looking for iPhone" it does this for a minute or two before presenting me with a message that says something along the lines of "the info could not be backed up as the device could not be found". My iPhone then disappears from iTunes and will not reappear until I connect it via USB. Once I disconnect the USB my iPhone stays listed on iTunes until I try to wirelessly sync again. Similarly if I try to sync my iPhone from the phone to iTunes it just says "look for iMac" until eventually giving up.
I had an iPhone 4 before the 5 and it was set up in exactly the same way using the same version of iTunes the same iMac and over the same wifi and that worked first time every time. I have also tried quitting iTunes and restarting my iPhone.
Sorry for waffling on but its becoming slightly annoying and I was hoping someone could help.

I am having the same issue. Since updating to iTunes 11 my iPhone 5 will no longer wirelessly sync. I am operating the latest version of Mountain Lion on a two month old Macbook Pro. When I plug in the USB I go through the steps of making sure the box is clicked to Wireslly sync, but after a few minutes of un-plugging the cord my phone dissapears from my devices. It tries to locate it, but cannot.
Furthermore, when I launched iTunes 11 for the first time my phone was synced, but since I accidenttly hit the eject button in the top right, this button has yet to come back. Even when the iPhone is linked via USB. Am I Crazy, stupid, or is this a bug?
BTW, how did MrTrav15 have this problem on 10/17 a month-and-a-half before the launching of iTunes 11?

Bonjour iTunes Wireless Sync Failure

Looking to see if anyone has experienced any iTunes Wireless Sync issues: Network setup as follows:
2504 Wireless Controller running 7.6.100.10 and three 1602 AP's set for LOCAL Mode running CAPWAP, and running a Guest WLAN and a User WLAN.
We use a wide variety of Mac products (iPad, Mac Mini, AppleTV, iPhones, MacBooks), and are now experiencing iTunes Wireless sync failures. I have mDNS enabled, mDNS is added to the WLAN's and the interfaces, multicast is tuned on, IGMP snooping enabled, multicast is enabled on the wired infrastructure....the weird thing is all the other Bonjour features are working. We can push desktops to the AppleTV, Stream Music, Print, share files, etc iTunes Wireless Sync is not working. I've been watching the mDNS browser and using the Bonjour Browser on my MacBook and I notice a two odd things:
1) I never see a a Layer 3 Multicast MGID Entry with the Apple Multicast Network (224.0.0.251) populate in the Multicats Window
2) I have the service enabled for ITunesWirelessDeviceSharing (_apple-mobdev._tcp.local.) in my mDNS profile but I never see any device use that sting. While watching the mDNS browser I do occasionally see the follwing: _apple-mobdev2._tcp.local. which is generated from the iPhone 5's. I copied the string and created a new service and added it to my mDNS profile but still no joy.
Any advice would be welcomed

ITunes wireless sync and Remote App not working in in unison.

I'm running iTunes on a Windows 8 machine, and I'm having issues getting both these above mentioned applications working together.
I did have some issues in the beginning with setting up wireless sync for my iPhone, but these were fixed by restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service that runs in the background.
The remote application seemed to have similar issues in the beginning, so I tried restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service - and this seemed to help, but then wireless sync faulted again.
After having a bit more of a read, I made sure UPnP was enabled across the board - in my PC and router, SSDP on my PC was changed to automatic mode, all bonjour services were confirmed running and there and I couldn't see any funky rules in my firewall that may be causing me issues.
I did find though, that both the remote app and the wireless sync functions operate on the same ports; TCP port 3689 and UDP port 5353. I'd imagine if this would be a problem, it would have been picked up - but I can't find any solid info to disregard this thought. Can anyone confirm or deny that this could be an issue?

ITouch shows up on iTunes for a few seconds, then disappears. (Wireless Sync)

When I try syncing my iTouch with iTunes with wireless, the iPod only shows up for a few seconds, than disappears.
Does anyone else have a similar problem, or any solutions?
