ITunes 11 won't save my changes

I built a pc, and installed the latest version of itunes. I went in preferences and changed the "iTune's media folder location" to my larger hard drive instead of hogging up room on my C: drive. I also added all my files to my library and everything was going smoothly. I tried to sync my phone to my new pc, but it automatically tries to save my backup on my C: drive when I don't want it to. I closed and re-opened iTunes and all of my music is gone from my library, and it changed the "default iTunes media folder locaiton" bacl on my C: drive. Every time I close and re-open, all of my changes are gone and it keeps trying to put stuff back on my C: drive. This is so frustrating. Please help.

I am experiencing the same problem. I've had music i have imported more than 10 years ago and now going through it, i am rearranging and editing track info and grouping albums. Every time i make the changes, iTunes will bring back the old track info. I don’t understand why. It used to work fine in the past.
Also, whatever changes i make in my iTunes library from my computer is not syncing to my iMatch. Apple TV, iPad and iPhone are still viewing the old track arrangements even though i refreshed my iTunes iMatch many times for update. This is so inconvenient.
Anyone else experiencing the same thing? How can this problem be resolved. I am not entirely sure if i am doing things the right way or if i am making lots of changes at once that i have over exhausted iTunes and the iMatch service.
Help. Thanks.

  • ITunes 7 won't save my settings - Please Help!!!

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes, and every time I open it, it takes me to the 'iTunes Setup Assistant' and it deletes all of my settings whenever I close and re-open it. What's going on?!

it's possible that this is being caused by damaged itunes preference files. perhaps try the techniques in this user tip to see if they work with that:

  • Error -1450: iTunes library won't save

For some reason, my entire library won't save. So i have to keep reloading everything, then exporting. But it's getting really really annoying cause sometimes iTunes doesn't even recognize my iPod anymore. Help?

Also, all my podcasts are gone from its original library place thing... but I have all the files of it. Is there someway to return these video files back to the podcast library and not just some podcast playlist?

  • My iTunes account won't let me change my credit card from visa to MasterCard.

My iTunes won't let me change my credit card type.. Please help me.

Try it this way on your computer.
    Launch iTunes.
From the menu at the top go to Store>View my account
    Enter your password when prompted
Under Apple ID summary - Payment type - click on Edit next to the current information
Select the card that you want to use and enter the card number and the security code
Make sure that the billing address is correct - it must be the same address that is printed on the CC statement.
Click on Done when you are finished.
See if that works for you.

  • Lightroom 5 won't save my changes

Lightroom 5 I downloaded Monday July 28 2013 ,  the day I downloaded it , it worked perfectly fine  I even saved my file settings  as " original" , and then the next day i  Imported a picture , made changes to it , and attempted to save it. I saved  the file as Jpeg, &  Original , But neither of them would save my changes I even Did a manual of saving a Meda data to file and  opening the catalog settings and enabled " automatically save changes to XMP" And then exported again. but that didn't work either http://prntscr.com/1i554u I tried re starting my Windows laptop , but That didn't work either. Is there any solution to this?

A few days ago I imported A picture at random I downloaded from the internet , I saved it to a random folder i created in " pictures" from My laptop. I opened Lightroom 5 And clicked " Import" > opened the Folder and Since only one picture was in the folder it showed in lightroom , So i clicked Import and it loaded into library , I switched over into " develope , the panel next to library I made some adjustments Messing with the exposure and so on And then I selected the picture by just clicking on it or ( Ctrl A ) button and then I clicked Export. In the export Dialog Box I chose Jpeg , and then exported into the same folder  and hit export. I opened up the folder from my laptop and viewed the picture I recently exported and found I didnt like the quality so i attempted to save ( export) the same picture again but this time in " Original" , So i saved it as an Original  this time I opened up the folder once more and It turned out I thought the quality of the image i made changes to came out less pixely and sharp so i liked that image and i had no problems that day. But then for some reason the next day I uploaded some pictures and imported the same way and after I've made the changes , then exported using Jpeg , Or Original. But my changes didn't save like they used to the first day I downloaded. I thought it was because I had the thirty day trial so things would wear off .. a few days later but Its supposed to last for thirty days. And then thats when I did a manual of saving meta data but that did no difference its having a hard time saving my changes. I have 27 days left
I think I'm having the same issues as this person http://forums.adobe.com/message/4871476 And I read the comments below it . They weren't much help to me either. & I do understand them but the same thing is happening to me.

  • System Preferences won't save after change

    Hello everyone,
I am running Mac OS 10.5.8 on a Black Macbook. The problem I am having is that none my changes will save in the system preferences. For example. I change the desktop background but the background won't change. The display window in the systems preferences window will show the picture I chose, but the desktop won't.
Another example: if I turn off "spaces" in systems preferences. It will show as off in the system preferences window, but as soon as I close the system preferences window, the changes won't take affect. This seems to happen with any change to settings in the system preferences.
I have recently used both "disk warrior" and Onyx to rebuild my desktop, check my drive and everything else those applications do. But still no change.
One more hint: I deleted an application (TomTom home) from my computer a few months ago, but the old icon shows up in the Dock as a "?" after each restart. I can drag it ot the desktop and delete it, but if I restart it will always show up.
What could be wrong? Should I do a reinstall? I don't have the disks...
    Thanks Mac folks!

Ok, I tried both removing the "com.apple.systempreference.plist" and restarting from both a Disk Warrior disk, and the Mac OS X Install CD 1 and doing a repair of the disk permissions. Neither of the tricks worked.
I no longer have a "com.apple.systempreference.plist" file anywhere on my computer and I still have the same problems.
So what should I do now? I have (obviously) found my original disks. I am thinking I need to do a new install of the system software? What is the process for doing that and not lose my data?
    Thanks again for everybodies help.

  • My ipod nano 7th gen. won't save the changes I make to a song's start and stop time. How do I fix this?

So I have a few songs that I don't like the intro to or the end of it that I had cut to where I wanted on my previous ipod. When I try to do the ame thing with this one with the start and stop time, it will work for awhile and then randomly start and stop where it had originally. I have done it like 4 times now for some songs and I can't seem to get it to stick. Suggestions?

If you use the Sync feature in iTunes, then it needs to be done to the song in your Music Library, then synced with the iPod.  If you do not use the Sync feature and are performing the changes to the song on your iPod specifically, then the setting may be getting overwritten when you drag the song that's already on the iPod back onto the iPod.  It will overwrite all local settings for the song on the iPod with the settings in your library.
Try performing the changes to the song in your music library, and then dragging it back over to your ipod (or Sync your iPod if you use that feature).  This will make sure that the setting are consistent in both your library and iPod in-case you were to ever overwrite the song once more.

  • ITunes preferences won't save. Please help new user.

If anyone can help me with this I'd be so grateful. I've looked through the other advice I can find on this forum, and on other sites, and have tried the solutions I've found suggested, but nothing's worked so far.
I've tried deleting the preferences files and rebuilding them several times. I've tried reinstalling iTunes several times, too. I've also tried launching iTunes from a different user account, created for the purpose. But I can't get my preferences to save. If I can't set iTunes up the way I'd like it, this could reverse my decision to buy an iPod. I'm not great with computers, and it's driving me to distraction. Any and all advice v gratefully received !

    Thanks for the reply!!!
The instructions I used were off this Apple Support site...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
I get both options to choose as well as create. I used choose when I did mine and it worked.
I did copy her entire itunes library.
This is exactly what is in the folder that I copied...
    (folders)
    Automatically add to itunes
    Downloads
    Mobile Applications
    Movies
    Music
    Ringtones
    Voice Memos
    (XML Document)
    Library
I do not see a .itl file anywhere.
I just looked on my file I copied that worked on my user name and I have (3) Itunes Database Files on it.
Thanks so much for the help!!!

  • MSC files won't save PerfMon changes

I created several .msc files with Performance Monitor snap-ins. Some of them save my PerfMon settings, but others won't. There are no error messages. The last modified date/time on the .msc file updates to the time I saved, but when I open the file again,
there are no counters saved, just a blank PerfMon snap-in.
Tried it on 2 different Windows 7 computers, one 32-bit and one 64-bit, with the same results. I am connecting to Windows Server 2008 R2 servers in the PerfMon snap-ins.
Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

    Hi reprac,
If I understand correctly , the .msc file is a configuration file of MMC .
The Data file of performance monitor should be .log file .
Please refer to following step by step guide :

  • ITunes 11 won't save name of movie

I have addded some of my own movies to iTunes 11.  Therefore the ID3 tags are the same as the file name.  i.e MOVIE_FILE_1.mp4 so the name displayed in iTunes is MOVEI_FILE.  However when I have them listed under TV Shows I then right click and Get Info.  I then change the name to what it should be i.e. Mikes Home Movie  BUT if I right click again on it then it resets it back to MOVIE_FILE_1.

    So? Nobody has an idea?

  • Edited Account Payment Information Won't Save

I'm trying to buy Bad Piggies HD on my iPad2 and somehow I've entered an endless loop of password and account details verification:
    1. Click Buy App button in the App Store
    2. Verification Required Window appears, I click Continue button
    3. Apple ID Password Window appears, I successfully enter my password (without error or feedback)
    4. Account Window appears, Asks me to verify my payment information which requires changes, I make the changes and click Go button
    5. Account Window closes without error or any other kind of feedback
    6. Confirmation Required Window appears, asks me if I still want to buy Bad Piggies, I click Buy Button
    7. From here it loops back to step 2, endlessly...
It does a similar thing to me in the App Store on my Mac Mini, I log in, change the account details, it verifies them showing the updated payment details summary, then when I go back to edit them again it reverts all the payment details back to the original details.
The reason I'm changing my account details is that my friend bought an apple dev license with his credit card and his name on my Apple ID. This is the first time I'm making a purchase with my own credit card and name on my Apple ID and it won't save my changes. Why does the app store say "Welcome *name*" where the name is the billing information name and not the Apple ID name?
Could Apple make it any harder for customers to buy stuff from their store?

    Hi aljynxy,
I have a couple of articles for you that might help you deal with this issue. The first can be found here, and it will be basic information on changing the credit card information:
    iTunes Store: Changing account information

The next article that I have for you deals with what to do if you are having an issue related to your credit card's security code or zip code:

  • HT1918 My credit card was replaced and it won't let me change my CC info

I had to have my credit card replaced and my itunes account won't let me change my payment info for my debit card. When I finish typing all the numbers in, selecting the expiration date, and the security number I have tried to click done and it says "Please enter a valid security code". I have tried several times and it won't work time after time. How do I use my new debit card to pay on my itunes account? I can't download anything because it wants me to verify this information, which is now different, but it won't work. Can anyone help? Please and thank you!

Why won't it let you? Is there an error? More information is needed to assist you.

  • Energy Saver preferences won't save, I want to kill my mac

When I change the preferences in Energy Saver, in the System Preferences, to shut down the computer at 10 am, it won't save the change.
I go ahead and unlock Energy Saver (I'm the Admin), make my changes, lock it, and exit. Upon re-entry to the Energy saver screen it shows none of my changes. I tried restarting after making my changes and that did nothing either.
Some number of months ago I told my computer I needed it to shut down at 3:30 am because I often forgot to shut it off when I went to bed. Now it's seemingly perma-stuck on shutting down at 3:30 am when I don't need it to. Frequently I need to leave a download going but my bleeping computer shuts off at 3:30 am in the middle of the download and I have to either start over or wait 5 hours for it to finish when it could've been downloaded while I slept.
This is a ridiculous problem to be having and I can't figure out why the changes won't save.

If you lock the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences immediately after changing the setting, it might not be able to record those changes; in many cases, changes made to an application's preferences take effect once the window has been closed instead of immediately once the setting is made. Before closing the padlock, move to another pane of System Preferences or the main screen.
Basically, this happens because administrator access is needed to write the changes to the disk or PRAM, but you revoked this access when you closed the padlock, which stops the changes from being saved.
