ITunes 11.x does not automatically download purchased music

Hello to everyone,
after installing iTunes 11.x, the new purchased music (that I buy with my iPhone, iPod and iPad) is not automatically downloaded on my iMac even if I have the iTunes set for doing it (in the preferences). With the previous version of iTunes I did not have this problem.
Now, when I verify if there are new items to download, it says to me that there are no new elements to download, so I need to sync the iPhone/iPod or iPad manually to have them transfered to my iMac.
Does someone else have my same problem or could you help me in solving it?

Hi, Fred.
Are you saying the songs are in you Library but not in the Purchased playlist?
In that case you can simply drag them from the main iTunes display into the playlist.

I don't know exactly what they said b/c they are nolonger on my screen. It said something to the effect of "incomplete dowload, there was an eror during the dowload of *Song*".
The songs purchased were showing in my purchased list with an "exclamation point" by them, which I believe indicates the download was incomplete. I restarted iTunes and the songs are no longer on my "Purchased list".
I was still charged after restarting iTunes

Ever since this change came out I sent feedback the very next day and several times since.
We've had iTunes updates since and Apple just doesn't seem to think it's a big deal.
Why would they get rid of it to begin with?
I don't purchase a can of beans, one bean at a time.

We have this problem as well. Unfortunately after years of only supporting IE and finally rewriting our site to be standards compliant we are going to have to force users back to IE because of this issue. It's not feasible for us to walk users through changing the default viewer. The default should stay Adobe (if installed) until a more robust native version is available. I understand you want to promote free and open tools but if they don't work, it's just not good enough.

Apple tv does not automatically download

My 1st generation Apple TV no longer automatically downloads TV shows from the iTunes store for season passes purchased on iTunes. These need to be downloaded to the computer and synched manually. As this worked previously, I am wondering if anything has changed?

As it happens, this is true for me as well. The fact that there are some movies on my Apple TV that I cannot move to my computer prevents me from simply trying to disconnect and reconnect the Apple TV to my library.
I asked for assistance on this, and they re-initiate the download. Now i have two copies of the movie on the Apple TV and still none on the computer. The movie did appear in the "Downloads" list on iTunes, but dissapeared once the download completed. The "iTunes Extras" is present on the computer, however. Just not the movie itself.

I had the same issue, went to itunes store on the Apple TV but the rented movie would not download. Tried this over and over again, restarted ATV and it still didn't work. I had itunes open on my Imac so I closed it and forced it to quit. Voila the movie showed up in the top row as a rented movie!

How can I transfer music I have downloaded myself from my iPad to my iTunes library on my laptop. I cannot access my library and had to start anew one which does not contain non purchased music

I was locked out of my user account on my laptop due to a registry problem. I had another administrator account on the laptop so I am using that now. I could get to the files in the old account and copied them over...... All except the iTunes library. I have a new iTunes library in the new user account but it only contains my purchases, none of the music I downloaded from my own CD,s. Also all my playlists have disappeared. Fortunately, I still have all my library on my iPad and old iPod, but I can't find out how to transfer the music from them to the laptop. I can't back them up onto my laptop either, otherwise everything would be erased from them. I don't know what else has not been transferred over. I think all my apps are there, but none of the audiobooks.

When open up Itunes and get notice that a update is available. I click to download but nothing happens

My problem was that Software Update didn't check for updates every day, and maybe never...

Basically all you have to do is open the Terminal and type:
     sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist ScheduleFrequency 1
The number, 1 in this case, means the frequency which Software Update is going to check for updates, so 1 means every day.
If this doesn't work you can try two things (or both, but in this order)
     - Go to /Library/Preferences/ and delete the file: com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist, then open Software Update... to create a new file, and go to System Preferences to configure it again. Finally open the Terminal and try the command at the beginning of this comment.
     - If Software Update continues without checking for updates every day, open the file: com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist and you will see a preference that is: ScheduleFrequency with the number 1 at its right and you will see that the type is String, copy the file to the Desktop (for example) and change the type String to Number, then drag the file in the Desktop into the Preferences folder and replace the first. It will work. (For this part you will need Xcode)

Go to the iTunes menu and select Preferences. In the Preferences General tab, put a checkmark next to Radio (and whatever else you wish displayed).

Purchases not automatically downloading

I just installed new windows 7 operating system and installed latest version of itunes. After authorizing the computer and all my ios devices, the purchases I make on my iphone or ipad does not automatically download on itunes and into the pc designated folder. Please Help.

Since installing the latest Itunes my phone does not auto sync as before, how can I set this up?

Since i updated to the newest ITunes my phone does not automatically sync as it did before. I am not able to locate my pictures or music or apps to set to auto sync. I receive no message that tells when the phone was last backed up to ICloud. I have several songs on ITunes under ICloud that are in the waiting status. This is all confusing. I have clicked on every available option.

I'm afraid at this point a backup can't be created anymore and the phone has been damaged too much by the water.
You'll have to get it replaced and use the latest existing backup you have.

Mail does not automatically update on Mavericks 10.9.1

My Mac Mail does not automatically download after the Mavericks 10.9.1 update on December 16th. I have set preferences to download automatically. It worked fine until recently but now i have to click get mail option to receive emails. It is true for all my accounts (Exchange, Google IMAP, Yahoo IMAP and iCloud IMAP).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
Envelope Index
ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Warning: The process may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. For reasonable-sized mailboxes, it should only take a few minutes.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad.
If you haven't synced to a computer them (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

Perfectly normal, purchased items only applies to TV shows, the studios have not licensed movies for redownloading.
