ITunes 12.1 Offical System Requirements?

According to the download page for iTunes, the official system requirements are a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor, 512MiB of RAM, Windows XP SP3 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, and 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. My system is running Windows Vista 32-bit on a 2GHz AMD Athlon XP processor with 2GiB of RAM, but iTunes refuses to install with the excuse that "This PC does not meet the minimum requirements for this version of iTunes." Does anyone here know if the system requirements given on the downloads page are incorrect or if there is some other possible explanation? I had thought that perhaps the download page is simply identifying my system incorrectly and is providing me with the 64-bit version by mistake, but I can't seem to find a 32-bit installer anywhere on Apple's site.

Similar issues have been reported a couple of times today (related to Windows XP), though I've yet to see any rationale for this problem or a resolution to it.  You can access the installer directly here:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (32-bit) - itunessetup.exe
If this continues to give problems, the corresponding installer for 12.0 is here:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
(Edit: I should have added that I was able to successfully install 12.1 32-bit on an ancient desktop running XP SP3, with far lower specs than your Vista system, so its much more likely that there's a bug somewhere in the installer rather than this being an "undocumented" change to the minimum system requirements.)

  • ITunes 7.7 minimum system requirements

    Hello!
My laptop computer has an Intel Centrino Pentium M at 1.7 GHz processor, RAM of 1 GHz and its operating system is Windows XP Professional SP 1.
I have successfully installed and been using without problems iTunes 7.5 but unfortunately it is not possble to upgrade to the latest iTunes 8.8 version because it requires Windows XP SP 2 or later which I do not have on my computer.
Does anybody happen to know if I can at least upgrade to iTunes 7.7? Can it be installed and properly run on Windows XP SP 1 or does it also require Windoesws XP SP 2 or later? What are the minimum system requirements of iTunes 7.7 version?
Many thanks for your attention and all the best for the New Year.

The current version of iTunes has only been qualified on Mac OS X 10.39 and Mac OS X 10.49 and newer. Apple often only tests new software on the current version of Mac OS X and the last version of the previous revision.

  • Ipod shuffle system requirements for itunes 5 are they real?

The System requirements posted on Apple's website ( http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?family=iPodshuffle) for the Shuffle say it will work with iTunes 4.7.1 or later.
    Mac System Requirements
    - A Mac with USB port*
    - Mac OS X v10.2.8 or Mac OS X 10.3.4 and later (Mac OS X 10.3.6 or later recommended for use with low-power USB ports)
    - iTunes 4.7.1 or later (included)
The box on a new Shuffle says
Mac OS X v10.2.8 or Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later [snip]
    - iTunes 5.0 or later (included)
I've been using my Shuffle with X.3.8, iTunes 4.7.1 and iTunes 4.9, and Quicktime 6.5.2 until its minijack went defective. I need a replacement shuffle and don't want to upgrade my OS, my itunes, or my QT.
Are these system requirements for real? If I use the iPod Shuffle 1.1 updater will the new Shuffle work with my OS/itunes?
I ask about the updater because once when my current shuffle's playcount stoped updating an Apple Genius suggesting updating the firmware from ipod updater 1 to 1.1 and ever since I can't restore it to version 1 (it gives failure to update errors). I worry that a new Shuffle won't be downgradeable.
If not what version of itunes 5 is best? I recall it was so buggy that it was bum rushed out the door.
Under no circumstances do I want itunes 6. I had 6.0.1. and 6.0.2 on a new hard disk a few months ago (and it required X.3.9 and QT 7) and it was awful! The sound volume dropped precipitously and the sound check didn't work.

Never mind. I returned the Shuffle for a refund. Apple lost a repeat sale by failing to practice the slightest bit of backwards compatibility!
I'm now in the market for an MP3 player that will work on Macs and that can also record audio. If anyone knows of any makes/models please let me know.

Sounds like you've got a PowerPC G4 mini?  i.e. NOT an Intel mini?  What does it say after "Processor:" in "About this Mac"?

  • SharePoint Server 2013 single server installation licenses and system requirements

We are thinking of setting up a SharePoint Server 2013 for the following features to be accessed by our test team (<100 users)
Our requirements are as follows -
Total user access <100 users(starts with 50 and may be go upto 100)
Mainly Access to TeamSite(Document library), WiKi, BI reports view(SSRS Reports integration)
We have a Visual Studio Ultimate license that covers SQL Server 2012 and Share Point server 2013.
We have also got a Amazon EC2 machine access to create a Xlarge box with Microsoft recommended Cores, Memory, storage for SINGLE INSTALLATION of SharePoint Server 2013 and SQL server database on Windows Server 2012
    My queries are as follows
Are the licenses above sufficient to go ahead with setting up the SP Server? or do i need any other licenses ?
I would like to create local LDAP in amazon without connecting to the company active directory. Would this be possible? We have users from other locations(different countries) providing services to our company and we would like them to access this portal
to share and access docuemnts without any network issue etc..
Are there any known firewall issues with EC2 machines for share point deployment
System requirements for single server installation (with or without BI reports)
Please note this implementation is only for internal use by the test team and is not critical. Not a production implementation.
    Is there any better solution?
    Much appreciate your help
    Thanks
    Vara

MSDN subscription licenses for SharePoint aren't, as far as i know, for use as production devices. This means that whilst you can use it for testing and development you can't use that license for the SharePoint server that you'll all be using.
As such I think you will need to buy a SharePoint 2013 server license. The same goes for SQL, Windows etc.
There is also the question of user licenses, ie. CALs. I don't remember if those come included as part of an MSDN subscription.
    2) Possibly. As long as Amazon can host a domain for you it should be possible.
    3) Pass. Microsoft prefer you to use Azure and most of my training and experience is with that.
    4) High. 4 cores, 24GB of RAM minimum.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx#hwforwebserver
You'll either need a 2XLarge or a memory orientated box, in which case you won't have much storage space.
Internal team infrastructure is still important. If you're using it enough to make it worth having then you need it there and running.
Have you considered using Office 365?

    Sure there is.
    1. restart your computer in Single User Mode (by pressing Command + S during boot - see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1492)
This will boot your OS X system in a kind of command line mode.
Note: this will not work if you have a Firmware password set.
    2. when in Single User Mode, enter the following command
    mount -uw /
to mount your OS X file system.
    3. now you can enter the following command
    passwd username
replacing "username" by your OS X user's short name. Then you will be prompted to enter the new password for that user. You will have to confirm that new password.
Note that you will not see any character showing when you enter the new password; this is expected behaviour.

  • Does dual-500MHz count as 1GHz? (minimum system requirement)

Time to replace the ole B$W G3 so my daughter can use Garage Band and iDVD. I'm lookin' at a used Dual-500MHz G4, but iDVD '06 needs a minimum of 733MHz processor.
My math ain't all that strong, but 500 times two exceeds 733. I can't find anywhere on Apple's site where they use this same math... so I'm nervous.
Anybody point me to a definitive Apple statement clarifying or asterisking this dual-factor when calculating processor speed?

Display with at least 1024 x 768 pixel resolution
    QuickTime 6.5.2 (included)
DVD drive required to install GarageBand and iDVD
Apple SuperDrive (or 733MHz G4 processor) required for iDVD
RAW requires a supported RAW-compatible camera:

I install latest update from my ipad 2, after the upgrade tablet running slowly. Probably the system requirements too high for my device. I think that users with older models should be able to install IOS 6.x.x on their devices or consider buying devices from other manufacturers ...
People are dissatisfied with the new update a lot, including some of my friends and acquaintances. Is it reasonable to wait until Apple implements the possibility to return to Ios Ios 6 to 7? And how soon it can be done?
Sorry for my english, i am from Russia.

I have a similar issue. I recently purchased an iPad Mini, and I started off by backing it up from the apps I had on my iPhone. Now, I have a number of apps that never downloaded and that I don't want on the iPad. Some of these are apps that I don't need, while others are the iPhone versions of apps. There are something like 23 apps that I have no use for, but iTunes tries to install every time I connect. I've also tried clicking the 'Will Install' buttons. There's no way to delete these apps from the iPad without first installing them, as far as I can see, and there's no way to NOT install them, in iTunes.
It''s not just annoying, it's causing problems with installation of larger files and movies. Now, every time I sync to the computer, I get a warning that I'm over capacity by 580 MB, and larger apps will not install! Clicking Revert and a bunch of other things doesn't work, either. And I can't just delete some of the apps, because I or my wife use them on our phones!
