ITunes 12: All added video goes to "Home Videos", and cannot be moved.

I have just updated to iTunes 12.01.26 on Windows 7 (Home Premium, Service Pack 1)
I have checked both the 'Keep iTunes Media folder organised' and 'Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library' in preferences.
Whenever I add video files (TV or Film) by dragging into iTunes, the video file is copied into the 'Home Videos' folder.
I then use 'Get Info' /options to set the 'Media Kind' to be Film or TV.
Unlike the previous versions, although the video file now appears in the correct category (in iTunes) - the original video file still resides in the 'Home Videos' folder.
Renaming the file (with show, name, title etc) has no effect on either the file name or the location.
Furthermore, when selecting 'TV', there seems to be no option to label the episode with the correct episode ID - only the season/episode.
Has there been a change in the nature of the way iTunes organises media files, or is this a fault in iTunes, or a problem with Windows?

You can report problems via the relevant feedback form, e.g. iTunes Feedback, or sign up for a free Apple Developer Connection account and make use of Apple Bug Reporter. They don't generally talk back, but they do claim to read everything. I haven't reported the problem myself. I guess if nobody does they won't pick up on it, otherwise it is the sort of thing that usually gets fixed in the next release. Sadly there isn't an open bugs forum where you can see what issues have already been reported, although if you use the bug reporter you report may get closed as a duplicate which at least tells you that they are aware of the problem.

I recently got a MAC BOOK PRO! The newest version and I make beauty videos, so I need to edit my videos, how do you do voice overs on Imovie? It doesnt give me an option to do a voice over. And how do you have a video going and then in the corner have another one going? I Have the IMOVIE app on my phone and I know how to do all of that but it doesnt let me do it on my laptop. Sorting home videos into appletv "home video" category

I have the lastest update for Appletv Sept 2013 and see there is a "Home videos" categopry and wondered how I could sort only my home videos in the homevideos category and purchased movies into the moview category.
is that possible?

Try using the Share > iTunes... menu item in iMovie, then sync the movie to Apple TV from iTunes. This is the easiest way of getting an iMovie project onto Apple TV. Is this what you've been doing?

Skype goes to Home screen and pops up to the foreg...

As of about a month ago I've experienced an issue with Skype where once a day it pops up in front of whatever I'm doing. Each time it displays the home screen and the ads on there.
This is highly annoying behaviour and I would like to know how I can prevent this from happening in the future. I'm using Skype version 6.21.73.104 and am running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium.

Same problem with an annoying screen pop up problem, but mine pops up every few minutes or when negotiating other programs. Bothersome - can't "x" it out, either. What to do?

It sounds like iTunes quits unexpectedly everytime you try to open it so you can no longer use it. I recommend the troubleshooting steps in the following article to help you troubleshoot the issue here, named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
Start with these steps to open iTunes in Safe Mode to see if a 3rd party app may be interfering with iTunes. There is additional troubleshooting to be done in the article if this is not the case:
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.

My ipod touch goes to home screen and other things.

ok three things
1. when i try to listen to songs my ipod stops playing the music and goes back to the home page. i dont touch anything, it just does it.
2.my battery will be fully charged then i will push the sleep button or turn it off and when i turn it back on the battery is alomst gone.
3.how do i take songs off my ipod when it is on manual without take off all my songs then reloading them?

Do you mean you all have different AppleIDs? But, do you also have different user accounts on the computer?
Simplest thing is just give everyone their own user account on the computer - they log into their account and sync their devices from only their account. Keeps everything separate and neat.

Added second laptop to home network and first laptop connection GONE

Help! I have a WRT54G2 v1.5 wireless-G broadban router set up on my hard-wired computer (XP) and had my new Sony Vaio laptop (Windows 7) connected wirelessly. Everything worked great! Then, yesterday, I added a Dell laptop to the network and my Sony got kicked off the network. I have tried to "add a device" but when I click on the link to do that from Network Magic, I get an error page on the Internet. I saw that someone else had a connection problem so I read the answer posted to their question and clicked on the link and again, get an Internet error. I am connected to the Internet: I checked! What is going on? I need the Dell laptop on the network as it is my new laptop for my job. Help!

Why doesn't itunes show all my music when i open it and i hav to add folder

when i open itunes, my music doesn't show and i have to constantly add folders to my library and it takes ages. Even if i consolidate the library before closing, there is no music when i reopen itunes. HELP!!!!

I've been having the same problem since the upgrade to 10.4. Most of what I try to add to my Music Library is simply not showing up. These files are not corrupted, they're the same files I had on the last version of iTunes. I'm simply trying to reorganize all my music, so I started over, but this update has ruined my efforts.

how can i get it to run and get rid of ie9

no luck i cannot get anything out of firefox. it just looks like it going to lunch but then even that stops after a few seconds. anything else i can do? should i try to go into programs and uninstall it and then reinstall it again?
another problem i just found (like i need anymore) a solution that someone gave me when i had problems lunching fireforx a while ago was to download the latest version of firefox and save it. then i had to go into my program files and find the file mozilla/firefox and delete it and then find the firefox i saved and finish the download which fixed whatever problem was causing the firefox to not lunch. now when i tried to do the same i cannot. the file that has mozilla firefox in it when i try to delete won't let me it says i have to have premission. so i go into the properties and see the permissions it list it as CREATOR OWNER but it only has permission to do certain thing in the folder like subfolers etc so therefore i cannot delete it. when i try to delete the creator owner or even change the premissions for it it won't let me. i do not even know where this creator owner came from. i am the only one that has use of my computer. like i said i am not very computer smart so any help u can give me please make sure they are detailed. i appreicate all u have done so far. i just want my firefox back.

CBS Video goes black, repeats video

We watch CBS news stories using the CBS app on Apple TV. Normally the app will automatically begin playback of the next story when one story is finished. For the last month this has worked for the first two stories only. When the third story/segment should play, instead the second story will repeat but this time with no video. And the Apple remote no longer responds. The only fix has been to restart Apple TV by unplugging the power cable.
Equipment is MC572LL/C, iOS 6.2.1 Vdeio

If you are having an issue with your Apple TV's software not functioning as expected, and you have restarted the Apple TV and the issue returns, the next step would be to reset all settings on the Apple TV. This manual explains how to do so (see page 31) -

If this step does not produce the desired result, you may need to restore the Apple TV. The process is on page 32 of the same manual.

My 4500 all in one goes into power save and will not come out of it without pulling the power plug.

I have tried hitting the power button short and long, pushing every button, but it seems the only way out is pulling the power plug.

This is a known issue and HP is working on Firmware to fix this issue. This will be released soon.
So please use the workaround for the time being if the printer goes to power saving mode.

Moved Home Directory and Cannot Log In

Seeking a little advice due to my being a little silly.
Moved my Home Directory over to my Opti-Bay Drive, changed the path in Accounts etc and then restarted. When trying to log back in to my system I get the following message:
You are unable to log in to the user account "XXXX" at this time.
Why Silly? Just before I moved my Home Directory over I had formatted the new drive as Encrypted. Am guessing that this is stopping me from logging in?
So how can I go about resolving this issue?

Managed to resolve the issue.
Ripped the drive with my Home Directory out of my MBP and connected it to another MBP as an external USB drive. Copied off my Directory and then formatted said drive as just Journaled. Installed back in to main MBP and all works

Removed ALL of my anti-virus/spyware software and CANNOT CONNECT TO STORE

iTunes 9 will NOT allow me to connect to the store. I don't have any firewall issues and have removed all of my anti-virus/spyware software. HELP!
