I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. It was after updating my macpro that I plugged in my phone and went to itunes to backup phone and can't see the device anywhere! I have also done all the troubleshooting that apple.com recommended too...all except re-installing itunes!

iTune Does not recognize my iPhone (Europe 4G-4S). The iOS (ver 4.xx)on the phone does not have the "update the software now" option. WinXp identifies it as "Europe 4G-4S Android Phone and Keeps asking for the following file/driver: ST65xx which I can not find.
    Thanks for your help!

A google search for "Europe 4G-4S Android Phone" turns up device drivers as FelipeV noted, as well as this product page (in Italian) http://lucazatti.blogspot.com/2013/01/android-40-smartphone-4g-4s-cellulari_11.h tml
These fakes used to be pretty common and some were actually almost indistinguishable from the real thing until you tried to use them with iTunes...

  • Itunes does not recognize my iphone 4 device

I bought a new computer, tried to install itunes, after three different people tried to help me, i finally got itunes to install, but when I plug my iphone into my computer, itunes does not recognize the device.  I am trying to 1. upgrade my iphone soft ware to 10.5.3, utilize icloud, and perform basic functions of syncing my phone with my computer. Any help, anyone could provide would be appreciated.
    Tank you,
    Rose

If your iTunes is the latest version, restart your computer and reboot your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPhone restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • ITunes does not recognize my iPhone 4 or iPad 2

I bought an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 yesterday... have not been able to use any of them so far as itunes does not recognize either of them on my machine.. have tried several times to restart the machine, reinstall iTunes etc etc.. I have a Sony Viao with Windows Vistas Home Edition, and of course am running as an Administrator.
Anyone has faced this problem earlier - any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have this problem with my windows machine.  Unfortunately, a new policy in the company requires that ITunes not be on your computer or you may be terminated.  I've got one week to figure out why things are different so that I am good to go for the future.
First off, copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your work computer to an external drive.
Copy it to /Music/ on your personal computer.
Try using a USB port on the back of the computer.
If the devices are still not discovered, see this -> http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/troubleshooting/

  • ITunes does not recognize my iPhone 4-problem solved

iTunes woudl not recognize my iPhone 4, and i finally figured it out why.  (I am W8)  Went to control panel, device manager, and expanded portable devices. I happened to have my iPhone plugged in to a USB port, and it showed up.  Clicked on the iPhone, clicked on the driver tab, and updated the driver.  Now it connects to iTunes.
So apparently the driver in my iPhone 4 was the problem.  The TS1538 article above did not address this issue.  I still think it has something to do with the iTunes 11.1.1.11 update, because my phone and my wife's iPhone 4s worked before the update and didn't after the update.  My guess is this is the problem many are having right now.

  • ITunes does not recognize my iPhone when I am connected to the internet!

Okay, I am back with an old problem that I had with iTunes 9.0. iTunes will not see my iPhone if I am connected to the internet. If I turn off the WiFi, I am fine. Is there a fix for this? I found the following (see below) on 1 website and did all of them already. I don't have # 3, so I did not have to try that one thing.
Run through this series of potential fixes, which will solve sync issues for most users:
    1. Reinstall iTunes. In some cases this issue can be resolved by completely removing then reinstalling iTunes as described in this Apple Knowledge Base article.
    2. Remove third-party backup software. If you’ve installed software for an external hard drive or another device, it may include an automatic backup utility that recognizes the iPad as a storage device, interfering with the normal sync process. Try uninstalling any such software then re-syncing your iPad.
    3. Remove iToner. It appears that the presence of Ambrosia Software’ iToner software may cause problems with syncing the iPad. Navigate to ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins and/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins (the Library folders inside your user folder and at the root level of your startup drive) and look for a file called iTonerSupport.bundle. Remove it, then restart, and check to see if iPad syncing occurs more quickly.
    4. Delete iTunes .plist. Delete the following file
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.itunes.plist then restart

    try deleting these preference files
    •C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username Here\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
    •C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username Here\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
    •C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info

  • Itunes does not recognize my iphone 5

I have tried all of th options listed to get itunes to recognize my iphone 5.  Iphoto does recognize my iphone.  Suggestions?

Taking you to the download photos is the default action for the phone when connected to the computer and there are photos in the Camera Roll. That has to do with Windows, but nothing to worry about.
If your phone is not being recognized in iTunes in Windows, look at this support document first. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 If that does not help, it seems there have been a few issues with the latest version of iTunes and Windows. You may have to remove and reinstall iTunes. I see that you say you have done that already, however if you do not do it exactly as the instructions state in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 then all it will do is compound your problems.
After completing both of these, you should not have any issues. If the first one works, then don't worry about the second one, however if the first does not work, then move to the second one.

Just guessing here as I don't have an Iphone or Ipad.
Try to enable Show Side Bar (Menu Bar - View - Click Show Side Bar) (Keyboard Short Cut Ctrl + S)
Can you see them now ?
Edit: // Some suggestions you can try from other discussions
verified that all the itunes services are running
apple mobile device, bonjour service &  ipod service?
Finally tried to update driver and it said I had the latest driver for Windows 7. I then disabled it, hard reset on iPad (original iPad) and when it was back on it installed the driver on my computer. Enabled driver and GLORY! It finally works normal.
