ITunes 5 import not making sense

Now that I've upgraded to iTunes 5, the importing is all screwed up. The way it used to work was, say if I had the song "Blue Sky" by the Allman Bros on my desktop -- when I clicked the song file iTunes would open up and Blue Sky would be in the Library. Then if I dragged Blue Sky to a playlist, it would show the song being imported. After the import, then a copy of Blue Sky would be in the following location user:music:itunes music:allman brothers:eat a peach
and I could then delete the file on my desktop.
NOW, with the new version of itunes, no file is copied to my music folder. the song in my library and playlist still points to the file on the desktop.
what is going on here? I've looked in Preferences, but can't figure this out. It's really a drag since I deleted some tunes before I realized this was going on!

is ticked.

I have just completed a track containing about 24 tracks all together.
I have just started making a new track, with about 5 audio tracks and 3 midi tracks running, and i keep getting that annoying core audio error msg -
Disk is too slow or
System Overload.

Its not making any sense cos the track i just completed didnt have these problems
I'm running G5 2.3ghz with 1.5ram.
Ive read through other posts about this but they all seem to say check your energy saver options, but those settings have always been how they should be.
Can anyone help, or suggest another trick to sort this out. Why all of a sudden is all my memory being eaten up???

One other thought is fragmentation. If you record and erase a whole lot, then your files could be fragmented, which would affect performance. There are defragmenting programs, which I have never used, available such as Norton Utilities. What I do is after a project. Say an album. I back up my work on DVD, then reformat my Audio drives. You can try that if you suspect your disk. Save your work on DVD, or another drive. Erase the disk, then put your files back to that drive. It should assemble the files continuously. You will have to re assign your record path after doing this, since the song is moved from its former "address". In older versions of Logic, you had to "search for the missing files" which the machine would do at the click of a button, but now it seems to locate them automatically without this step. Only the record path must be reset. OR If your disk is nearly full, I understand that the disk has poorer performance along the outer edge. Finally, if you are playing back samples from say, a program that uses Disk streaming, and if those sample files are located on your system disk, or I suppose even on your Audio disk, that could be creating an exhausting work load. If this is the case, you should store such samples on a separate, dedicated Hard drive of their own.

Audio Playback on iOS - not making sense to me. - Help Please?

I've read A LOT of things and tried several approaches. As EDGE ANIMATE and INDESIGN DPS are a whole new experience to me, I'm probably just missing something simple, but I REALLY need help getting audio to play on an iPad (air) or otherwise.
I know that iOS will NOT allow autoplayback of audio -- that's fine - makes sense to me, but I can't even get it to play with the built in audio commands or by using the Buzz.js approach (which I know is outdated - but I'm desperate) by attaching the audio to a user interaction, like an invisible button that plays when clicked, or hovered.
I have included a link to what I have thus far (native AN files) below. If someone would PLEASE let me know what I'm missing -- that would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry for not getting back to you on this until today. I am an Art Director managing 4 other artists, a video editor, a designer, a fledgling mobile developer, etc., etc. I have been pulled away from this project for three days now. I appreciate you offering to look into this. I will try to get the simple files up to you ASAP. I am using the HTML generated from Animate within a InDesign CC / DPS project. The animation you have been looking at is only page 2 (FOLIO) of a multiple page (FOLIO) project.
I use a box object on the InDesign page that is the size of the full-screen iPad dimension: 768x1024, and choose the HTML Folio Overlay object. I link to the HTML file from the published Animate project. I have been publishing the files to my Adobe Content Viewer on my Adobe Cloud Account and then downloading them to an iPad to view using the Adobe Content Viewer for iPad. The animation and button actions work just fine, but NO AUDIO .
I have tried to use the .OAM files in InDesign - but they NEVER WORK! They only appear as a single Image from the poster frame and won't play at all.
ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

MCM Gatekeeper 12.4(17) "show gatek calls" not making sense

Sometimes when I do a "show gatek calls" to view current Video calls, the information show for a particular call shows the H323ID calling itself, however it shows different E.164 address for SRV and DST endpoint. This does not look right to me. Calls are still being connected fine, however I would like to know what would cause this particular information to appear on the call log. I have attached the debug log and "show gatek calls"

The current GW2P Gateway Cards register with the Gatekeeper with Service prefixes. show gatek gw-type prefix. The GW service prefixes were setup from the get go. thats not the problem. I believe The problem has to do with LRQ(Location_Request) timing. Everytime the GK receives information from the GWs, endpoints or MCUs the information is then displayed on the show Gatek calls display. I have a TAC case in, and IOS Engineers looking at the case. I still do not have a solid answer to this.

This output of this code is DRRD (should be DRAH) which makes no sense because im printing prac[i] and prac=prac[x-i-1]. Anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Thanks much

Document/Stage size - Sizing to Contents not making sense

Forgive this basic newbie question, but I have a Flash CS4 document and I am attempting to resize the stage to accomodate its current contents.
When I do so, the stage becomes *much larger* than the apparent contents, and I am trying to figure out why. I have literally examined every frame of the animation, and selected every individual object to see if the selection bounds indicate a rogue "large object"...but none indicate this...what sort of things about the contents might cause this that I am missing? I don't have any motion paths that seem to account for it either.

Sorry - Again, very new here..I think the document does in fact have "Tweens" because I see dots on some of the layer timelines, and when I right-click on them there is a menu choice available "Remove Tween" (although I didn't explicitly create them - could that have been created as a consequence of applying one of the stock motion paths to an object?)
Anyhow, are those possibly the culprit?
I guess I could send you the file privately (I don't think the owner of the file wants it in a public location at this point as it involves a forthcoming product announcement).

The items I have purchased in the itunes store are not showing up in my libray. A few are on my actual ipod touch, but not in the itunes library. Is there an easy fix to this or is it maybe something in the settings that I'm missing?

It's just not making sense to me that it's a purchased item from the itunes store and it isn't appearing in their program.

She can choose to either enable the setting on her iPod to Manually manage music and videos. With setting enabled she can sync content to her iPod from multiple computers without it affecting whats already stored her iPod. However, I would recommend copying whats on her iPod to her iTunes library first. There are several ways to accomplish this. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to do it.

ITunes adds duplicate songs when importing but not making copies in the iTunes Media folder?

This is an irregular problem and does not happen at every new import, but every now & again iTunes is creating duplicate files entries for the same song when I import my music folder.
Now I know many people post a similar problem, but before we start can I state that both the 'Keep iTunes Media folder organized AND "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library are turned off, and always have been.
Right clicking on duplicates of a particular song proves that iTunes is not copying the file into it's own media folder and adding that to the library.
All listed entries for a particular song iTunes direct you to the same file in the same location in the finder.
I am currently just having to delete the duplicates everytime it makes them, although this is VERY time consuming!
Any ideas on what is causing it or what will fix the problem would be great!

Nevermind...I figured out my issue. The problem is that I'm an idiot.
When dragging my folders in, they not only had MP3 files, but a M3U file as well. iTunes was importing the M3U playlist, then the MP3s...that's how I was getting my dups.

HT1844 Library Issue: I just imported 2 CD's into ITunes. They show up in "Recently Added" and on my other devices via ITunes Match, but NOT in the ITunes software on the computer where I added them.

They show up in the search box, but when I click on the results it just kicks me to ALL my music. I have imported thousands of songs/CD's before and this is a new one.

Something may have gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Making another change to the library such as downloading the current iTunes Free Single of the Week, or deleting one track from your library and reimporting it, should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up which ought to correct things.

ITunes 10 Will not Import CDs

I just discovered that iTunes 10 will not import audio CDs. Once you insert the CD and iTunes launches, the CD disappears from the desktop. It is not there in the finder window nor in the iTunes window. This occured on all three Macs I tried it on and occurred with about four different audio CDs.
Apple Technical Support people duplicated the problem on their Macs and have referred this to engineering. If you plan on importing audio CDs in the near future I suggest not installing iTunes 10 now.

Thanks, this is not an ideal answer but probably the most sensible one in my case.
I will try it unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'll wait a bit as it will take me a few days anyway (I had actually tried to create a new smaller playlist or download by album, but at this stage the music app is not letting me queue a list of songs for download - I think I will have to disable and re-enable iTunes match which will probably delete all the songs).
I have to say I am not very impressed with Apple here - having an online backup of all your data and beeing able to restore it to a new device easily was a strong selling point of iCloud. For music, they are Definitly not delivering at the stage.

Without a backup on iCloud, there needs to be another device using the same @icloud address that is syncing to the notes. Without that, there is no way to go back in time to create a backup before performing a major update.

Depending on how many photos there are, you can do it diretly on the iPad via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photos in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view and selecting the photos to delete (there is no select all option).
Or you can connect the iPad to your computer and do it via Windows Explorer on a PC by selecting the photos and pressing delete, or on a Mac iPhoto/Aperture should have a delete option at the end of their import dialogues.

I continue to get charged on my credit for purchases I am not making on itunes. They are all small purchases such as $4.99, $1.99, $6.99 but have added to almost $300 in total. I keep clicking on them as report a problem. I have switched credit cards but this continues to happen. What do I do? Seems like there is no number to call. Wish I could talk to a person rather than trying to navigate this through the internet.
