ITunes 6 and Quicktime 7.0.3 HELP

Question

I just downloaded the NEW iTunes 6 with Quicktime 7, but when I install it the iTunes installs properly, but it fails to install Quicktime...hence I can't even open iTunes to access my music. I receive the error code -3. I have tried everything I know to do including uninstalling EVERYTHING iTunes/iPod related (including previous Quicktime version) and reinstalling, but nothing works. I am going through serious music withdrawl. I HATE Microsoft media player. I find it so not user friendly. Can anyone help?

hi Nick!
actually, there's a weekend-installer-error-spike ... (it smears out to about 72 hours due to dateline effects), so weekends end up being my busiest "work" days. having had recent upgrades also tends to put a bit of additional peak into the normal spike.
It did not work. I received an error code of 1402 and then after I click of and it rolls back the install I get another error code of -1603.
ahhh. i was wondering if there was something kinky like that going on. let's attack the 1402 on the QT install. first start here:

(you can probably start with the registry work, rather than trying the uninstall/reinstall first.)
... but if no joy with that, let's try the Adam technique:
