ITunes 6 -- Outlook calendar synch problem fixed?

I've been very frustrated that I can't synch my calendar to my Nano because it has reoccurring appointments (the dreaded "-50" error). Does anyone know if iTunes 6 fixes this bug? (I just upgraded but I don't have my iPod with me right now...)

I guess I have no reason to upgrade to 6.0 then...I'll wait for 6.01 which (if the joke called iTunes 5.0 is anything to go by) will be out this time next week.

  • OUTLOOK 2003 Synch Issue fixed by Software Plu

Anyone who visits these forums regularly will know that my major problem with my own Zen Micro has been the fact that the player , running first the 2.00.2 and then the 2..02 BETA firmwares would not synch the CALENDAR with Microsoft Outlook 2003. It would synch Tasks and Contacts though which was odd. This was a known issue when discussed with SUPPORT.
I did a software autoupdate last night and downloaded the "Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysforSure devices (version .00.8)"
(Also - the 2..02 is no longer BETA although no new download was required - see seperate thread))
The Outlook calendar synch now works correctly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU CREATIVE SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strange. I'm surprised that a MediaSource download fixed it. But hey, whatever solves it

  • New itunes & Firmware - Outlook calendar sync is now worse than before!

I have tried everything in the latest help file. Uninstalled and reinstalled new itunes and firmware. Reset sync history. Turned off all other add-ins except Apple, etc., etc.
At least before, a Cal sync would at least get the holidays from Outlook 2007. Now the iPhone calendar is COMPLETELY blank.
What is going on with this. Does anyone have their calendar synching? Is this a problem for all users on XP or just some?
I cannot believe Apple would let this go soooo long without a proper fix.

    Hey PTBoater,
Well, I finally got the Calendar in Outlook 2007 to sync properly!
I have Win XP with Office 2007.
It seems there must have been something corrupt within the Calendar, in the .pst file. Not sure what but the more I thought about that .pst file, I have been using it for many years and continually moving it to my next system or software version.
Despite the fact that I deleted just about all of the entries in the Calendar and just kept the ones from the last month. Still did not work.
    Plan A
Go into Outlook and print out your calendar, as far as necessary. Unfortunately, you will have to rebuild your calendar manually. The calendar printout will assist in recalling the date, time and purpose, etc. When I did mine, I simply worried about upcoming appointments and therefore, it was not a big issue. I later added holidays in Outlook, using the holiday add function and that worked fine and sync’d ok.
Go to your .pst file. If it is in its default location it will be C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
I copied the original .pst file and made a duplicate copy and left them in their original directory. Then I renamed both files, to oldoutlook.ddd and oldoutlook1.ddd so Outlook could not find them any longer.
I then opened Outlook 2007 and of course it gave me an error about not being able to find the .pst file and it suggested a new .pst file, etc. I accepted the new file.
Then, I went back to the original .pst file and renamed it back to what it was normally, I believe was outlook.pst
I then opened Outlook (which opened the new file, not any of the old files) and used the File>Import, to selectively import all of the items, except the calendar.
Unfortunately, this made the process a little long but I was able to finish it in about 30 minutes.
    How-To
In Outlook 2007, Choose File>Import & Export. Choose "Import from another program or file." Click Next. When you get to the “Import a File” dialog box, choose “Personal Folder Files (.pst)”. Click Next.
Then Browse to the location of your .pst file. If it is in its default location it will be C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
Once you get to the Outlook structure, you will notice many folders, as part of your .pst file. DO NOT choose the first listing, which will import everything within your .pst file. Rather, go down the list and selectively import one item at a time, being careful to NOT import the Calendar.
Once you have completed this, you can begin re-building your calendar. A lengthy work-around but it is nice the sync is finally working.
    Hope this helps!

  • Outlook Calendar Sync - Possible Fix - Windows XP

So, I too had the problem where my Outlook 2003 SP2 Calendar (running on XP SP2) would not sync. I would choose the proper settings, iTunes would go through sync process and nothing would transferred. So after a few Google searches, I did the following.
    1. I performed the Microsoft Windows Update. Whatever came up, I did them all. If you're not sure how to force an update, go to www.windows.com and look for "Security Updates..."
    2. I performed the "Check for Updates" and "Detect and Repair" functions under Microsoft Outlook (located under the Help menu in MS Outlook).
    3. I added iTunes.exe to the DEP (Data Execution Prevention). Do this by right clicking on My Computer from your desktop, choose Properties, choose the Advance tab, choose Data Execution Prevention tab, click the radio button for "Turn on DEP...", click on Add..., browse for your iTunes.exe file (usually under C:\Program Files\iTunes), click Open, click Apply, and then close all windows. Now restart your computer, start iTunes, start Outlook, make sure you choose Outlook as the "sync from" source and sync away!
Note: I sync my Contacts via Yahoo. I tried changing my Contact source to Outlook and it didn't work -nothing showed up. Oh well, I'll just use Yahoo for Contact source.
Note 2: Whatever your results are, I take no responsibility for any mishaps.
    Good Luck!

Thanks for your help. I did all the things you mentioned, but still nothing. I have previous but not current. It just won't pick up each others information. There must be a reason it found it the first time and not now. Crazy huh? Thanks again. If you hear anything it will be great to find out.

  • Help Needed w/Desktop Manager 4.6 & Outlook Calendar Synch

Everything was working just fine prior to my holiday break. Came back this morning and attempted to synch my BBCurve (running 4.5.0.81) with my Desktop Manager (v4.6) and it is just skipping over the calendar sync portion. No error message. Everything else is synching just fine. Deleted and reinstalled Desktop software -- that didn't work. Disabled calendar sync and re-enabled -- that didn't work. cleared the BB Calendar of all entries and now have no calendar entries on the device. HELP!

I deleted the Intellisync folder, and reset the Desktop Manager configuration settings and I received the following Intellisync error message:
The operation terminated unexpectedly while reading from Microsoft Outlook Calendar
Then I tried to sync just from Outlook Calendar to Device -- that failed
Then I tried to sync just from Device to Outlook Calendar -- that failed as well
Then I deleted Intellisync folder again and rebooted my computer
Successfully synced from Device to Outlook
Tried to sync from Outlook to Device and it appears to be running, says one moment please and nothing happens and it returns to the Desktop Manager with no error message. Grrrrr.....

  • "operation terminated unexpectedly" during Outlook calendar synch

Help!  Everything was synchronizing fine but then one day, just stopped working.  I rec'd an error message from "Intellisync" stating "The operation terminated unexpectedly".  I've tried to uninstall the DM software & reinstall several times but that doesn't help.  I tried to synch only from the device to Outlook & it worked once but the second time I rec'd the same error on record 194 of 398.
PC Operating System = Windows XP Pro
    Desktop version  4.6.0.12 (May 22 '08)
    MS Outlook version 2007
Model phone = Blackberry Pearl 8130
    I need some help!

In my desparation to keeping trying different avenues, I tried uninstalling the DM again but reinstalled version 4.3.0.15 (Aug 15 '07) instead of the more recent versions (had previously tried both 4.5 and 4.6 with the same errors messages received).
My first attempt to synch my Outlook Calendar with v.4.3 didn't work either but for some reason, it does work now.  Go figure?  I'm just going to cross my fingers & hope this older version will continue to work.

  • Outlook calendar synching issues with iPhone

My work Outlook calendar does not seem to be synching up with the calendar on my iPhone. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

In that case the sync is with Exchange, not with Outlook. Both Outlook and the iPhone sync with Exchange, which is the master copy.
Which is more current, Outlook or the iPhone?

  • Outlook calendar sync problem

I have a BB8310 that has given me great service for over a year.  Two days ago the calender stopped synchronizing  with the Outlook calendar.  When syncing the device, the address list, task list, memo pad all sync perfectly.  The calendar does not sync at all.  Any suggestions?

After all else failed, I took note that your mentioning of the facebook conflict.  I decided to delete the facebook program on my BB altogether to see if that would clear up the issue.  After deleting the facebook program and re-syncing the calendar only, the sync for the calendar worked fine.  Just a lucky guess.  Must be an issue between the facebook program and Outlook.  Since having my calendar was more important that having the mobile facebook, deleting it wasn't a concern for me.
    Hi,
I sure hope you can come back, you don't have to lose Facebook.
You obviously must have an email associated calendar on the device, which I was trying to establish.
You can set the Facebook calendar to update your email associated calendar and sync all events.
I will send you a PM as well.

  • IPhone Outlook calendar synch issue

My new iPhone does synch with my Outlook 2007 calendar, but only some, not all, of the calendar items actually are copied over to the phone. When I create an event on the phone, it does synch back to the computer.
    Any idea what's happening here?

Similar, if not same, issue here, as no calendar items come across from the computer. While I run both OSX and PC, the phone uses wife's Dell running XP pro, and it's still no joy. Running latest OS and outlook patches, etc.
I would expect coders are still working on a fix...bought the phone expressly for this purpose--while the other features are great, until this is fixed, it's a rather large thorn.
If the definitive steps to a fix are arrived at, I am all ears...

Try removing the "Junk Mail Filter" patch from Microsoft that was released in the middle of March -- doing so solved this exact problem on my Palm TX, and on at least two others that I'm aware of. If it works, post here so the Palm guys can figure this out and get it fixed on their end!
It's also possible that Microsoft has released a new version today (April 10, 2007), since I think this is their normal "Patch Tuesday" (or is that next week?). In any case, the next update to the "Junk Email Filter" may or may not fix the problem. So maybe try installing that if you see it as an option on Windows Update, and see if it works.
To remove the March version, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and turn on the checkbox to view Updates (at the top of the window). Under Microsoft Office or Microsoft Outlook, find the "Junk Email Update" with a date from March 2007. Uninstall it, and restart. See if that fixes your sync problem. If it does, POST HERE to let these guys know! If not, well, post that too (and then you can reinstall the patch by going to the Windows Update site).
If uninstalling it does work, you may want to go to the Windows Update site and tell it to stop telling you about that patch, or you're likely to get a ton of warning notices or even have it reinstalled automatically without your consent, depending on how your computer is set up.

  • Will outlook calendars synch with os6

iCloud version 2.0 has serious issues with Outlook 2007.  Although synching will take place, you cannot edit calendars--cannot copy, paste, backspace, etc.  Had to uninstall and install iCloud 1.0.  Was told by tech support Apple iCloud 2.0 does not support Outlook anymore.
My question is:  Will the same thing happen if I update to OS 6?
Interesting that today I updated to iTunes 11 and now have no way to access any albums, iTunes Store or anything on the iTune site.  My iPhone will synch, but that is it--useless.
    Please help and Thanks

FYI - it is a Mac and not a MAC in all caps. MAC in all caps is the abbreviation for Media Access Control.
You can sync an iPhone with multiple computers or with iTunes with multiple OSs on the same computer but if your OS X detail provided is accurate, you will need to update to 10.4.10.

  • Calendar Synch Problem

I have read the various posts and followed all suggestions over the past several days - I have updated Windows and Office with Service Pack 3, I have updated Outlook 2003 - I have all the updates (took forever) - Still my iTouch will not synch with Calendars in Outlook 2003 - When I try to synch it shows that calendar is synching but it takes forever and ultimately nothing moves from my PC to itouch. (data entered on itouch will migrate to pc however) Any other ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Wow - I think I found the glitch - and this seems unreal. In the itouch information section where you indicate what and how you want stuff to synch - under the section for Calendars - there is a check box for "Do not syc events older than ____days. On my itouch that box had always been set to "checked" as a default to 30 days, so I always left it alone. So I decided to uncheck that box. And now it syncs with out a problem - to and from my pc. I can't figure why that works - on my pc i have both past and future items, and items that have been entered long ago as well as items I added just today. So why that would impact the sync is beyond me - but - it's working now. Go figure!
Again - thanks for your responses

  • Outlook Calendar synch but ONLY have the past 1Yr appointments

Ok got this really annoying bug here:
I've always sync'ed the COMPLETE calendar from my outlook to my iPhone but recently I noticed that on iPhone it only kept my calendar from Jan 2012. (roughly one year) Having said that, in my iTunes i did NOT tick 'do not sync events oler than 'x' days' and chose sync ALL calendars.
Yet this is still happening. I know I can select Calendar on Advance so that it will replace the calendar on the iPhone w/ information from my outlook but it takes FOREVER. More importantly I want to know why this happened repeatedly and more importantly how to prevent this from happening again?
I first noticed this a week ago so I bit the bullet and "replace calendar information on the iPhone w/ data from PC's outlook" and that took HOURS.
    I have iP5 w/ 64Gb and outlook 2010 on Win7.   Any hint please.

I too am having the same issue - after the Apple Store assured me that this issue was resolved (my video iPod always causes an error report in outlook). I moved from an 8125 where I had numerous inboxs from multiple servers all on one handset - this is pretty disappointing. HTTP mail is not supported (at least MS), and can I sync my iPhone between multiple workstations (not music but contacts calendars and bookmarks like a CE machine or a PDA?!?

  • Import Calendar Entries to Exchange 2013 Causes Outlook Calendar View Problems

Today I was working on a way to import company holidays for 2014 into people's calendars.  We're running Exchange 2013.  Most users have Outlook 2010, but I'm on the bleeding edge with Outlook 2013.
The best method I found online for adding events to everyone's calendar involved creating a calendar in a PST file that contained all of the company holidays and then using the Exchange 2013 Management Shell to import the PST file into people's calendars.
I created the calendar in a PST using Outlook 2013.  Each holiday is an all day appointment.  I then used the management shell to import those appointments into my calendar.  Outlook was running when I ran the import.
After the import completed, I went to look at my calendar and Outlook 2013 crashed.  I restarted it, clicked on my calendar and it crashed again.  After some digging, I found a suggestion that I start Outlook with /cleanviews.  That seems
to have corrected the problem.  All appointments appear as expected.  Well, that was ugly.  But I'm the only one on Outlook 2013 right now, so it's not a showstopper.
I then found a victim running Outlook 2010 for my next import experiment.  Outlook 2010 didn't crash.  But the calendar view did reset to a list view instead of whatever the user was running before.  Strange...  I ran the test again with
another person and was able to reproduce the result.  All appointments are present, but Outlook feels the need to change views?
Does anyone have a suggestion for how to import these appointments without the calendar view being reset? I don't want to think about all the support calls we're going to get when people's calendar view gets changed to a list view.
    Thanks
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
Is the use able to change the calendar view manually? Please check whether all calendar items are in list view both in OWA and Outlook? Please try to import the PST file from Outlook side to check whether the issue persists.

  • Heeeelp!!!!!! Outlook Calendar Synchronization problem

    Hi:

Until a few days ago, it was working ok synchronizing all contacts, tasks and calendar appointments. Now I cant synch the calendar, but tasks and contacts work ok. I unistalled the Desktop software, hard reseted the phone, deleted the calendar data base using the advance backup option, deleted the intellysync folder, all that without success. I dont know what I am going to do.
I have desktop software ver 4.7
Some body help me please, I need my calendar appointments in my blackberry.
    Thanks

If you are having errors in your Calendar on your BlackBerry, and you wish to delete the entire Calendar database on your BlackBerry, follow the directions below. Make certain you have a good copy of your Calendar, as this procedure will complete delete ALL Calendar entries on your BlackBerry.
    a. Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
    b. Open up Backup/Restore > Advanced.
    c. From Advanced you'll see a split panel screen. The left panel is what is going to be backed up from your device and the right is a list of the currently existing databases.
    d. Highlight on the right side your Calendar database and click the arrow in the middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information over and prepare it for back-up.
    e. Once the back-up has completed, hit the Clear button at the bottom to erase and clean out the entire Calendar database.
    f. After it's finished, it will ask you if you want to save the back-up you've created, say yes and check the device to make sure the calendar has been properly cleared out. Now, resync the necessary contact information and you should be set to go.
