ITunes 6 will not install because of Error 1606, please help!

Hi, when I try to download the new iTunes 6, I get an error halfway through installation. The error says:
Error 1606. Could not access network location bin.
Please, what does this mean and how do I fix it?

gaah. okay, we're going to try transferring a treatment that has been working for some QT 1606s to the itunes 1606.
first, download and install a copy of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
... now let's use the complete uninstall instructions given here to remove any existing itunes and QT:
Troubleshooting iTunes, iPod Software, and QuickTime installation on Windows
... then let's run the Installer CleanUp utility to remove any leftover itunes and quicktime installation registry entries.
reboot.
now let's run an itunes 6.0.1.3 install again. does it go through without the 1606 this time?
love, b

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • I just purchased an IPAD2 and am trying to install ITunes. Itunes will not install. My error message is 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify you have privileges to start system services. This is an XP service Pack 3 and I am the only user.

I would like to be able to use my IPAD. Itunes will not install. It tells me it cannot start Apple Mobile Device Services I am using XP service Pack 3. I am the administrator. The message also says to verify that I have sufficient privileges to start system services.

  • ITunes will not install or uninstall - error 2330

    I need some help!
itunes will not recognise my iphone so I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, repair itunes but with no success. I have also tried to delete the files but it will not let me. Each time I try any of these things it comes up error 2330.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
    Thanks.

The 2330 is consistent with disk/file damage, rio. So first let's try running a chkdsk over the drive your program files are installed on (usually the C drive). There's instructions and a guided help in the following Microsoft document:
[How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265]
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you reinstall iTunes now?
If not, let us know the full name and file path of the file or folder that your 2330 is complaining about. (Precise text, please.)

  • ITunes will not install because my Computer is missing a file QuickTime.msi

Hello, I have uninstalled all my apple files except those for QuickTime because it needs QuickTime.msi. Installing iTunes fails for the same reason. I have searched all of my C Drive and it does not exist. My laptop was originally running Vista and perhaps upgrading to Windows 7 is somehow involved? Can anybody put me on the right track?

This problem can often be fixed with the Microsoft Insaller cleanup utility.
Unfortunately The Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been with drawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google msicuu2.exe download
mydidgitallife has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install
You may need to use "Run as Adminsitrator" if you get an error trying to run it.
I would try to uninstall all iTunes related programs using this method:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This will allow you to find which ones will not uninstall. Then use the Cleanup utilty to remove those programs
    Then try installing iTunes again.

  • Help! Itunes will not install because it cannot access and HKEY

    Error reads as follows:
    Coult not open key:
HkeyLOCALMACHINES\software\classes\QuicktimePlayerLib.QuicktimePlayerApp\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I ran regedit and found that this Hkey does not exist in the registry.
I just bought this Nano. Why won't Apple help me with the install. At this point I feel like taking this piece of junk back to the store and buying a piece of hardware that is not dependent on a piece of software that cannot even be installed.

  • ITunes will not install because it cannot remove an earlier version of Bonjour...HELP!!!!

When I try to install iTunes 10 it cuts in about 3/4 of the way saying that "Cannot remove and earlier version of Bonjour"....PLEASE HELP!!!!!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

iTunes probably detected the unauthorized activity on the accounts and disabled them for that reason. These forums are just for other Apple users, so no one here will have the power to re-enable your account. You should contact iTunes Support: http://apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • 9.1 downloaded, but it will not install???? Please help!

I am a long time Mac user. Bought myself a new iMac for my studio. Everything works fine. I have downloaded the 9.1 update and when I install it, it tells me that it cannot install as I already have 9.1, but I do not have 9.1. I am running 9.02.
Any ideas? Driving me nuts this one.....

I am having the same exact problem.. only i could of sworn i downloaded & installed the 9.02 update, but when i go to check my about logic pro, it says.. 9.0.0... I'm completely baffled by this. I bought the logic studio upgrade, successfully installed it, THOUGHT i had registered it, apparently NOT, when i tried to download the update. Like what is seriously wrong with this? I am VERY frustrated. I have a 8 core nehalem processor, running mac osx 10.6.2.
I know alot of people are experience the same problem. Apple has officially let us down fellas.

  • My Itunes will NOT update!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

after i click download now it goes to the next page and says thanks for downloading!!! when really it did nothing! am i doing somthing wrong!?!? HELP PLEASE!

Sounds like you've got connection problems, Al. Also, the exclamation mark means you need to restore your iPod.
Run the iPod Updater (Start - Programs - iPod) and only connect your mini when it tells you to connect and iPod. This time, however, connect it to one of the ports on the rear of your computer (if you have a desktop).
If it's still not recognized by the updater, reset it: hold down the Menu and Center buttons until you see the Apple logo.
If it's recognized by the updater, choose the Restore option and follow the instructions from there.

  • When opening iTunes I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled, reinstalled many times - nothing! help please.

When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been  unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.
