ITunes 64-bit for Windows 7; can I downgrade or remove upgrade?

iTunes is crashing every time I attempt to either add music files to my library or sync my iPhone.  I've seen repeated complaints of this problem, but have found no solutions that work.  Does anyone know if I can remove the latest update (I'm running version 10.5.3.3).  [I think it's iTunes 64-bit -- my computer is running Windows 7 64-bit...]   I'm more interested in syncing my devices than trying to fix the current version of the software.   Thanks.  Monica

  • ITunes Error 7 (Windows error 127) after installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows

After installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows (latest build), I get an error pop-up saying:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I've gone thru the uninstall, reboot and reinstall process three or four times now. Still nothing.
Furthermore, after clicking okay to the error, it continues to pop up on it's own every 45 seconds or so.
There was one other error I came across after trying to launch iTunes after installation.
    See both error messages here:

Brilliant. Thanks a lot. I've wasted a couple of hours on this nasty bug, & trying all the other suggestions across various threads again and again.
I now find I had the same registry entry hanging on, despite uninstalling & wiping everything again and again. Having now deleted this key, (I don't even have an iPod), & iTunes 11.1.14 now opens at long last.
But WHY is this bug not fixed? Enough people are suffering with this across the forum. WHERE is Apple support on this?
It should have been added to their page at
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    by now, why hasn't it???
    It's not good enough!
    Re:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls]
    "C:\\Program Files\\iPod\\bin\\iPodService.exe"=dword:80000000
AHA! This entry for iPodService.exe still exhisted.  So I had no folders on the PC, no installs on the PC and no services running.... BUT this was still in the Registry.
Step 5 - Delete only the Registry entry above.  NO REBOOT
    Step 6 - Reinstall iTunes64.exe

  • Where do I download iTunes 32 bit for Windows XP?

    Hi there
The quick links on the iTunes download page for alternative versions are not available anymore. The website auto detects my OS, which is 64 bit, but I need to download the 32 bit version for another computer (which is not connected to the internet) running Windows XP 32 bit.
I've searched the internet, these forums and tried the support features on this site, but to no avail.
    Thanks

  • Itunes 64 bit for Windows

So I have downloaded iTunes on my kids windows boxes and it won't connect to the store.  I have flushed it, checked the firewall etc and still no joy.  The diagnostics says I am not logged in as administrator which I am, it also says that itunes is right with Jesus in the firewall setting which it is.  very odd that so many settings are not recognized.
    Help would be nice

    Hi!
I'm having the same problem (except I don't run Norton) - I also have Vista and have tried to upgrade to 8.1.1 and everytime it gives me an error message and says I need to do a repair by going into tools and so on. I tried to follow the directions to repair and ended up losing my Library and friend had to retrieve for me (what a pain). Anyone have any answers other than not upgrade?

  • ITunes 64 bit for Windows Visa

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to upgrade to iTunes 8.1.1 for my 64 bit HP Pavillion computer - my operating system is Windows Vista. Everytime I try, it starts to install and then rolls back and tells my it failed to install due to encountered errors. I am at my wits end! HELP! Anyone know what my problem could be? I am also running Norton - could that be causing the problem???

  • Can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit

I can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit. It won't even download.

These are the Windows requirements according to the iTunes dpownload site http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/http://:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
xp 64 bit is not mentioned but it doesn't seem to be supported for the latest ITunes so it seems that you're out of luck.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you still have trouble you might consider installing the alternate version iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) where you can download a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of iTunes that works with older video cards. This version may also be useful for anyone who is unable to get the 64-bit version of Apple Application Support to install when using the itunes6464setup file, or has trouble with playback of certain video files despite having QuickTime installed.

  • Entry point not found - iTunes 10.7 for Windows (64-bit) reinstall

After ignoring iTunes update prompts for about 2 years, I recently tried updating to the latest version (12.1) without success.  After searching for solutions to this problem online, I decided to uninstall iTunes and try reverting back to iTunes 10.7 for Windows 64-bit (on my Windows Vista laptop).
At this point I have installed, repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled, and repaired the 10.7 version and am still unable to access iTunes.  When I try to launch iTunes, I get the following error messages:
"iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point CMTimeRangeMakeFromDictionary could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll."
When I click OK, I then get:
"iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)"
(As I stated above, reinstalling hasn't worked!)
In my online troubleshooting searches, I've found posts regarding entry point issues but none with "CMTimeRangeMakeFromDictionary" or "CoreMedia.dll" in them.  I'm unsure what to do next (should I attempt iTunes 12.1 again?), and my biggest concern is that I will somehow lose all my music.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of. CoreMedia.dll is part of Apple Application Support.

If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • ITunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit) hangs when opened

    Hi
I recently updated to iTunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit) on both my PC & laptop which both run Windows 7 and are apart from this problem with Itunes are very stable.
After installing the updates, each time I try to launch Itunes the program will open to show the main window but then I get the following:
I cannot make any of the functions respond (via mouse or tabbing)
The "timer circle" (Same as Apples "egg timer I guess) just runs & runs.
Eventually after say 20 mins, I get the standard Windows message about Itunes has stopped.
I then have to exit via this message window, whcih closes the Itunes program down.
I cannot find any conflicts with spyware etc and all other programs etc are running as normal, any ideas if this is a bug in iTunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit)? Or is there something else I can try?
I have tried completely uninstalling & reinstalling the software, but that failed too (and I do not know whow to find a previous release of Itunes to try again!)
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I'm assuming you followed a forum like Gizmodo to load the latest version of iOS 7 Beta on your device
Alot of those forums forget to mention, iTunes 11.0.5 will allow you to update to the iOS 7 Beta but your device will no longer work unless you have the developer version of iTunes as well....
I'd suggest you to research how to downgrade back to 6.1.3/4 and wait a few days for the iOS to be released,

As I know there is no Crystal Reports 2008 runtimes for 64 bit machines, there are only 32 bit runtimes for that product. So,I need to know when will be the 64 bit runtimes will be released or will be available.
Also, for the CR bundled with VS 2008 (10.5), there are 64 bit runtimes which you could find on your development machine under -
    ' C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x64.msi '
When will be 64 bit runtimes for CR 08 will be available?

  • How can I find itunes 10.1 for windows.  I don't want the cloud in newer version.

How can I find iTunes 10.1 for windows.  I don't want the cloud, and my iPod touch won't go back to prior versions.

Had the same problem. Also worked fine on my MacBook, but not on my new iMac. Here's what I did to fix it:
Archive and Reinstall Mac OS (takes about 40 minutes). This reverted my system back to 10.6.2. Just pop in your Mac OS disc that came with your computer. Mine had 10.6.2 on it, and "Archive and Install" is the default option. When it's done, run software update and update everything. Now it all works fine.
Somewhere along the way, some file got corrupted somehow. But doing an "archive and install" of your OS undoes whatever file damage was incurred, and allows everything to update normally via Software Update as it should.
