ITunes 64-bit runs 32-bit, Secure link to iTunes Store failed, and SyncMapiInterfaceHelper_x64 crashes every time I click 'Info' tab in an iDevice.
Hello everyone,
There are 3 issues I have, as it reads in the title.
1) I am running iTunes on a Win7 64-bit ThinkPad, and iTunes shows up as a 32-bit application in the Task Manager, always. I tried even the complete uninstalling (after removing Bonjour, Apple Mobile Service, deleting the folders, etc.) and yet, it shows up the same way.
2) When I run diagnostics, it says 'Secure link to iTunes Store failed'. I've tried many things from whatever I've read in the forums and nothing seems to be changing that.
3) Every time I click the 'Info' tab on any iDevice (I tried it with a 3GS and a iPod Touch), I get a 'SyncMapiInterfaceHelper_x64 has stopped working' message thrice. I don't know the significance of thrice but it just does come.
I hope someone helps.
Thanks!
That one's normal. On 64-bit systems, iTunes is a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit componentry. The itunes.exe is 32-bit.
Oh, okay. Thanks!
Could you walk us through what happens when you try to connect to the Store, please?
The issue is when I run diagnostics. I happened to run it last night while updating my 3GS to iOS 6, and there was a 3194, and a search to solve that, led me to running the diagnostic.
I was wondering how it affects me because I haven't faced any issue in downloading or browsing the AppStore. The transcript of the 'Run diagnostics', for networks is as below:

Nothing about the 3rd? It is pretty confusing as to why it appears because there don't seem any answers all over the web about it.

When I run itunes diagnostic tests, I am told secure link to itunes store failed. My firewall is not blocking itunes. I have tried to download two itunes products and these have failed to download properly. What do I do?

downloaded 11.0.3 (42) 64 bit to my MacBook Pro and it crashes every time I select a song a use the 'add to' function to add to a play list. It's never done this before, is it a bug with the new version?
You could just disable updates. Change these settings in about:config.
* app.update.auto - set to false
* app.update.enabled - set to false
You can still check for updates with the "Check for Updates" button in the About Firefox window, but it will download the update file anyway if there is an update available. You can also check which is the current release from here:

hi everybody, please someone help me,i had a 3gs last year and i bought a 4,but itunes doesn't synch videos from photos file and it crashes, every time i try to synch photos it stacks when videos try to synch and crashes, what to do please?
hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Why are my iTunes and iPhoto crashing every time I try to open them?
Why are my iphoto and itunes crashing every time I open them? This is a new problem on my Mac Mini. Have the latest software on my Mac Mini and the latest iLife sotware. My mac mini is about 5 years old, always kept up to date.
Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics Intel GMA 950 64 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)Hello Majorie,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Also, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive?
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes. -
ITunes and iBooks crash every time I open them
iTunes worked fine in Mavericks untill I opened iBooks and tried to sync my books on my iPad.
Now both crash every single time I open them.
How can I delete or restore a clean install of both of them in Mavericks?

It sounds like the way your mac tries to handle connections to other apple devices isn't working, and I don't know of any reason why this would happen other than a random corrupted file.
You may want to try reinstalling iphoto and itunes to see if the problem is there. Otherwise, I'm at a loss as to what you should do. -
I'm able to sync my library with my iPod classic, but every time I tried to click on iTunes Store, the iTunes program crash and I received a message from Windows 8 telling me there is a problem, but don't tell what it is. * Reset the profile
* Turn off hardware acceleration
* Remove and download list (downloads sqlite)
I sure would appreciate any help.

This issue pretty much occurred over night. I was able to get on the iTunes store, and now I cannot.

Ideas??Your account's balance should automatically be charged (it's only for gifting that a balance can't be used), there isn't a setting that you can change. You could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can see why it's charging your credit car : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

ITunes crashes every time I click on 'Get Info' for a file.
How do I fix it? Could there be some kind of index or something else that needs to be rebuilt. I have a very large library with 14000 songs and a few movies. I'm running iTunes version 10.1.6 (7). Thanks.
I was able to fix this freezing in movies issue by going to file-add to library then selecting all my movies from the movies folder inside iTunes Music folder and letting iTunes 'add them' It took some time to complete (maybe 20 minutes) but it is working well now and not freezing.

My messaging app is frozen and I can't text after I tried to spam my friend with a 15,000 character text. I hard closed the app and restarted my phone but still nothing. Please help.
I had the VERY same problem with a iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.0.2. I did a hard reset and a full restore to factory settings and then a restore from a back up- nothing worked. I then read Cal4one's post on turning off the read text function (which I had just turned on days before to try out) and ta-da! all is well! I can now use Messages and when I go to attach a picture, the Photo library comes up quickly (it was not before the chance) and the Message app no longer crashes. Just to be safe, I turned off all reading functions in the Accessibility (settings/general/accessibility/speech) settings.

Why Does iTunes 6 crash every time I try to open it????
I'm ready to tear my hair out. This is NOT what I want to be doing at 11:43PM. It all started because I wanted to download the song "Wild Thing" the other night. I got a message indicating to download it I have to upgrade to iTunes 6. Given that it's a free upgrade, why not. After a couple of days of assorted problems doing the installation, finally got that right (or so it seemed).
However, every time I click to open iTunes, it immediately crashes. When I click to report the crash to Microsoft and follow the link, I get this message (my narrative continues after the Microsoft info below).
Solution found: contact Apple Computer to obtain the update
Problem description
Thank you for submitting an error report. The error was likely caused by:
iTunes
Solution
iTunes was created by Apple Computer. Apple Computer informed Microsoft that they have a solution available for the problem you reported. To learn more about the solution, Apple Computer recommends that you visit the following website:
Apple Computer
Additional information
Microsoft did not create, nor does it provide technical support for iTunes.
If you have trouble installing the fix or the problem you reported persists, please contact Apple Computer and alert them of the problem.
I've even tried temporarily shutting down antivirus and antispyware before installing. No dice. Same problem.
Is this software just buggy or what? I don't WANT to troubleshoot. I just want to access my iTunes library!!! I need 2 or 3 simple steps to make this work. I didn't even want to download iTunes 6. I was perfectly happy with the prior version.I'm ready to tear my hair out. This is NOT what I

Go back to a version of iTunes that worked for you. When I upgraded to 6.0.2, I crashed every time I plugged an iPod in. I went back to 6.0.1, and everything works fine now. Make sure you completely uninstall your current "upgrade" of iTunes, then go to http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/
to get a prior version of iTunes for installation.
Please respond if this works. Seems like problems after the 6.0.2 release of iTunes for Windows have been rampant. Like you, I assumed that every upgrade of iTunes was automatically an improvement. Not so, at least for me and a lot of other users.
Good luck.
