Itunes 64 bit

Over the last 24 hours I have attempted to down load iTunes 64 bit for windows 8.0 upgraded machine. When I go into sync it hangs on "syncing artwork ...... (step 5 of 5) waiting for items to copy
When I subsequently attempt to end task in task manager the application says it is itunes (32 bit) and will not cancel. I have tried numerous times to re download itunes but the same problem reoccurs. On the apple download page it says iTunes 11.1.3 for Windows (64-bit), but it obviously is not.
Any ideas anyone as Apple won't provide support as my ipad is over 12 months old and there is no e-mail facility to contact them.

I've got a gaming and media PC running XP Pro 64 bit, and I've had a similar problem. iTunes prompts me every time I start it that it did not install correctly, but starts when I 'Enter' past the popup. Everything seems to run OK (iTunes Store, music, video, visuals, etc...) until I try to burn a CD - it simply won't let me do it. When I look under the 'Preferences' option, there is no tab for Burn settings. I've tried to reinstall iTunes a couple of times, but there is no change.
I'm confused as to the difference between the difference between a 64bit Installer and iTunes itself... is the 64bit installer just a 64bit-compatible way of getting 32bit iTunes on your computer?
So, if there is no 64 bit iTunes and CD burning won't happen with 32bit iTunes on a 64 bit machine, anyone got a work-around? ie... AAC to MP3 conversion and burn with Nero?
Thx

  • Extremely Low iTunes Bit Rates

All of the music that I purchased from iTunes appears to have a bit rate of 128kbps. I understand that ACC files sounds slightly better at low bit rates. Regardless, this is the absolute lowest tolerable bit rate imaginable. It is only suitable for preview purposes with low quality PC speakers or cheap headphones. I can't believe that Apple would selling warmed over 8 Track Tapes.
Please tell me that I am doing something wrong.
Is the parent file greater that 128 kbps when I choose to burn a CD?
I am prepared to accept some destructive compression but 128 kbps is not functional. Converting ACC files to MP3 would result in even greater loss of quality. Converting the file to MP3 would be necessary for anyone with an MP3 incapable of playing ACC files.

I actually believe that it probably has more to do with storage space, rather than the record companies.
There's a consensus out there that people basically can't really tell the difference between 128k and 192k rips. And since the vast majority people may not notice or even care, Apple's philosophy is probably "why rip at the larger bit rate, and potentially use up 30% more network storage space, download bandwidth, etc. when most people won't notice".
I happen to strongly disagree with this sentiment, and can absolutely tell the difference between 128k & 192k rips (especially on things like Pink Floyd etc.), but it's apparently not my call.

  • Installed 10.5.1.42 and iTunes bit the dust

Windows 7 32bit w/updates and good antivirus. Checked the support page for this issue - directed to check protocols and look for third party LSP's under Winsock. There is an issue! I have a third party LSP - Bsecure monitoring software to keep internet searches safe. Apparently 10.5.1.42 does not play well with others. It is recommeded to uninstall the third party but I'm not doing that. Hate to see iTunes go away. Don't update - should have went out shopping instead

I tried the netsh winsock reset to no avail. I did however get the itunes store to work though by uninstalling "Besecure" (cloud care). I was on a forum earlier this morning and took the advice from some others who had success uninstalling similar "filtering" software such as "Net Nanny". I tried first just to shut it down and that didn't work. I had to completely uninstall it. Besecure never interfered with itunes or the itunes store until this latest version. Anyway, I'm back up and running - without filtering software

  • ITunes doesn't open any more, what the **** is going on NOW!?

I previously posted a problem for my desktop computer, see:
1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.
BUT NOW, I updated iTunes on my laptop since I can't get iTunes to work on my desktop with out getting the above message and after I restarted my computer (laptop), the **** program doesn't open up or run. No error messages, it just doesn't run.
I am about to shuck the whole iPod and iTunes bit. This is just pathetic how many issues are popping up with iTunes. Any creative input would help.
My previous post on the error message 1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime and the responders on here have resulted in no fix or progress. So now I have two computers and no working iTunes.

  • Organising iTunes on D: drive

    Hi,
I moved iTunes to the D: partition on my computer last year using excellent edvice from this discussion. I'm currently "tidying up" my computer and have realised that while all of my music is now on D: and lots of other iTunes bits and pieces too, there are still some folders and files on C: These are:
    Folder - Album Artwork
Folder - iPod games (duplicated in D:)
    Folder - iTunes media
    Folder - Mobile applications
iTunes database files - Library extras, Library genius, Library
    XML document - Music library
As mentioed, the only one of these files that seems to be duplicated in D; are the games. I also got an iPhone last week which may have upset things a little. Although everything works fine, I would like to have everything music and iTunes related in D: Could anyone advise if this is feasible and if so, how I should do it. I am backing up my computer now, just in case anything goes horribly wrong!
    Thanks!!!

I assume that your drive D: is external. One important thing you need to do is make sure that your drive D: is "ready" before you start iTunes. It must be ready to read. If it isn't, when iTunes looks for it and doesn't find it, it will then use the C: drive.

  • Reconstituting iTunes after problems on G5 with Leopard upgrade.

Where do all of the iTunes bits reside on a system? I need to reconstitute iTunes after problems upgrading from Tiger to Leopard using "archive and install".

    Sorry,
This is just a user to user forum. If anyone has a fix or work around they will help.

  • Error Updating itunes

When trying to update iTunes from 7.02 to 8 I keep getting an error message: Could not access network location iTunes\.
I get this same error when trying to remove iTunes as well. I have updated everything I can on Windows xp as well as followed all the trouble shooting options that apple provides.
Can anyone out there help. Thank you.

    For emrhenter
When you get this kind of message about not being able to access a network location, it usually means you need to do an installer cleanup with the Microsoft Installer cleanup utility.
I have given a method for full removal of iTunes and related programs with cleanup, but you might get away with just doing the iTunes bits.
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • Problem upgrading from iTunes 7 to iTunes 8 because of iTunes.msi

When I tried to upgrade from iTunes 7.? to iTunes 8, I was asked to locate iTunes.msi, but was unable to locate that file on my system. I cancelled out of the program install, believing that I would keep using the old version until I figured out the issue. However, doing that apparently uninstalled my previous iTunes version. Now I cannot use iTunes since the version 8 won't install, and the site doesn't seem to offer any older versions that actually work.

  • How do I move from iMac to PC?

My mid-2007 iMac has finally had it.  Still has the most beautiful screen I have ever seen, but most of the software is failing.  I am moving out from that machine to a Windows 7 based PC.  If there is a link, or comprehensive article on how to migrate, I would really appreciate it.  I need to know:
1.)  How do I transfer my iTunes account and all purchases?
2.)  Since I set up iCloud on my iMAC, how do I transfer my iCloud to the PC.  Presently iCloud pushes information to the PC; the PC will now be the primary machine.
3.)  I bought CopyTrans and it moved my iPad content "somewhere on my PC", but I plugged in my iPad and seemed to have moved the contents, too.  Does this mean I should no longer sync the iPad with the iMAC, but now solely sync with the PC?
4.)  I have an iPhone also connected to the iCloud and syncing with iTunes on the iMAC...hahaha, what a sentence!  So, now how do I set up my iPhone to sync with the PC?
5.)  Ditto my old shuffle and iPod Nano.
6.)  Last of all...and this is a biggie....I have 8000 photos trapped in iPhoto.  How do I liberate them and migrate them to PC.
As you can see, I need lots of support.  If there is a support line where I can pay, or an article that will give me step by step (I am computer challenged, so I am being literal here), pls. refer me.
That is it for now.  But, that is enough!  Thanks to this community, because I always get answers here.  Always.  THE BEST!
    Warmly,  Maud
PS...I am on a 20 inch 2GB, Intel Core Duo Processor iMac, MAC OS X Lion version 10.7.4.  Moving to Windows 7 64-Bit.  Already have iTunes on the machine; have iCloud, but syncing it with iMAC being the main or home-base computer.  Need to move iCloud?

Well I'm sorry that Klaus just gave you a faceless link to the Windows 7 section, seems very childish to me ! After all lots of other people post in the 'wrong section' and still get help...........Anyway..........I can only help you with the iTunes bit, you will need to de-author the iTunes on your iMac and then move everything in the iTunes folder to the PC and re-author iTunes there this should work for you.  Hopefully someone can help with the other stuff.

  • Need to get mass info from my XML library file

Hi. A while ago I was trying to set up my computer so that a user other than me could play my iTunes songs but not be able to delete them. In the course of that I somehow moved a file I shouldn't have and iTunes lost all my info. I finally managed to get it to find all my songs again but it lost all the playlists and playcount info. I really dig the play count stuff and like it to be accurate. I have a copy of my old library xml file and have been going through it, finding song names and their play counts and then manually playing that song however many times in iTunes to make it up to date. But it is taking forever. I've been working on it for a few months and only have 1200 songs done out of 5600.
I was wondering if someone had an easier way. I'm hoping maybe a simple program that could extract the info I need and put it in a .txt file or something. I don't mind doing the iTunes bit myself but there is so much information that I don't need in there it seriously slows the process down. Here's an example of the format:

  • Using iPhoto library with Apple TV

Just st upo the Apple TV and have the iTunes bit working for music, purchased movies and home movies stored within iTunes from my late 2012 Mac Mini.
    Must say am impressed.
The boss has 64Gb of photos on an a mid 2013 airbook and wants to know how the photos can be "shown" on the TV.
I have read a little on Airplay but not sure on how it might work for these photos.
    Both computers running 10.9.2
    Thanks

Solved my own question, I was on a different wifi network in the house:( so the airplay icon was missing
Set up Airplay and the boss now has iPhotos mirrored on the HDTV.
It is really good, highly recommend it as you dont need a Smart TV for it just one that supports 1080

  • Convert i tunes downloadeds songs to aiff

    can it be done?

I would like to add, on a different note, yes- I completely understand the reasoning behind apple's agreement with the music industry regarding protecting downloaded songs from itunes. But to be completely honest, I was working on a project last year and needed a song that the production company purchased television rights to ($8000). So what do you get for $8000? The rights. No physical CD recording of the song. You gotta get that yourself or put in a request to get it delivered by mail.
I didn't have the time to wait around for snail mail, so I decided to hop onto itunes, bite the bullet and pay the extra $1. As you can expect, as I attempted to get that song into FCP, it was a no go.
My point here is that everyone tends to assume the worst when it comes to copywritten material. In my case, it was quite the opposite. I was doing something completely legal. I have no qualms with the protection program. Musicians deserve to get paid for their work. However, I'm a bit bummed when I read responses on here that are accusatory of the posters of questions like "can it be done?" or "why is it against the terms of use?"
Simple questions that are asking of anything illegal and really don't deserve such stern responses... at least not in my world of fluffy clouds and no crime.

    heylo peeps!
    please help!
ive recently brought a new pc and downloaded itunes for my ipod i brought a few months ago but it cant find my ipods songs on the itunes libary!
the songs are still there when i play the ipod normally but its just the itunes bit that cant locate them...
no idea what to do... please help!
    thanks muchlies
    lighthavana

Try importing them from the Nano to your computer. Here is a way that might work (if you can see files on your Ipod)
    1) If Itunes is already installed disk use may need to enabled so you can see the Ipod in my computer. Itunes hides your ipod from windows otherwise.
    2) Make sure you can view hidden files. In MY computer go to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders.
    3) Windows should see the ipod and your music should be on your ipod in several hidden folders. To be safe I would copy it all to say your desktop.
    4) Install Itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and the Ipod updater http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ (if you don't already have it installed)
After that drag the copied folder to Itunes (drag and drop or in Itunes (File>add folder to library)
You may need to authorise your new computer by playing it in the library first.
