Itunes 64bit Store freezing!

Just downloaded the new Itunes 64 bit on a new Windows 7 Computer. Itunes store won't load. Just appears with a white screen and the Loading bar halfway before nothing happens. How do I get it up and running? Thanks.

I've had exactly this problem since late last year. I had several goes at Apple, who, as usual, washed their hands of it. When I complained further they said they would 'escalate' my problem. Since then, silence. For a minute there I thought everything would be fixed if the problem is with AOL - but if you're not using AOL then that's the end of that. I've tried everything Apple suggests, and I'm loath to pay a computer expert to come in and fix something that should work.
If I do end up having to do that I'll make sure I find out exactly what he does to fix it and let everyone know.

  • ITunes Store Freezing with 10.5 & Windows 7

I have Windows 7. With version 10.5 of iTunes, the Store keeps freezing on me. Can use Store if I open iTunes in safe mode, but looking for a more permanent fix. Anyone know how to do this?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

  • Music store freezes up itunes

first time here, been reading the forum to see if anyone else has the same problem i have.
i use windows xp and have a 5G video ipod. however, my problem is in the music store. for some reason, my itunes store will freeze up itunes (i'm thinking it's a quicktime error) and it forces me to go into the task manager (sometimes) to manually shut down itunes or the dreaded windows message will come up saying there was an error in itunes. i found that after i bring up itunes again that disabling the music store provides me to use itunes without it freezing up.
however, there are times where i plug in my 5G ipod and the "do not disconnect" icons flash for a few minutes until it goes to the main menu on the ipod. the computer does not recognize the ipod and does not show up in itunes.
my brother has tried fixing the problem but it keeps coming back. (keep in mind i haven't updated to the latest version of itunes. i'm still running 6.01. yay paranoia about the mini-store!)
i have tried telling the people on the applecare line what is going on and all i get is "remove your itunes and reinstall it!" and for some reason, that's not the case. someone please tell me i'm not alone or point me in the direection on how to fix this so that i can show my brother when i take in my laptop to him tomorrow. thanks!

upgraded itunes and this issue is resolved.

  • ITunes Store Freezes and Won't Load

I upgraded to Windows 7 recently and ever since i cant get the iTunes store to connect. When i try to search for something in the store it basically just gets stuck on loading forever and then at that point i have to force quit to close iTunes. Can someone help please?

Okay so I did a little more research and i found out that hundreds of people had this problem when windows 7 beta was out, and they had the following solution:
To those of you running windows 7:
Apparently in w7 there are a lot of compatibility errors with security programs and itunes. I have Norton Internet Security 2009, and I added C:\Program Files\iTunes to the auto-protect exclusions, and i haven't had any hang-ups since; no need for hard reboots or anything. iTune's Store doesn't freeze either.
I also read that disabling windows media player network sharing service fixes it, which I ended up doing also, but I'm not sure if that really affected the outcome or not.
You don't have to take my word for it either, here are the two main places where I gathered my information, you can do the same:

For those of you not using windows 7:
From what I read, I'm not sure if the same fix will work for your problem, but I encourage you to explore the site above for more solutions to your problem

  • Why does the iTunes store freeze ?

My iTunes store freezes on me and all the icons at the bottom of the screen do not respond. How can I fix the problem?

Try closing all inactive apps in the Task Bar
    1. Double-click the Home button to see all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
    2. Hold the Apps down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close App
    4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
    5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

  • ITunes 9.0.2 Crashes Trying to Access iTunes Music Store on Startup

    HI, everyone,
I installed iTunes 9.0.2 today in preparation for an iPhone software upgrade, but iTunes freezes 100% of the time just after it starts up and tries to access the iTunes Music Store. There's a bit of activity in the progress bar when iTunes first starts, and then the progress bar for accessing the store shows half way finished and the program crashes (every time).
I've reinstalled, rebooted, removed and replaced the preference files and my library, all to no avail.
I'm running WinXP Pro SP 3, patches all up to date, but now I can't access my library on my computer nor can I upgrade my iPhone.
Others of you have had similar problems; one of you reported a "parental control" issue with CA security suite. I have Trend Micro and can't find any parental controls to deal with.
I have IE 8 installed but use Firefox 3.0.15.
This has been a horrible day. I have many papers to grade for my college classes and expected the installation to go smoothly (as the ones in the past have; iTunes 8 worked great).
    Please help!

    Hi, b noir,
    No, I'm afraid I don't have Nod32 installed. I wish I did--maybe a simple fix!
I'm working from home using the laptop the school supplied me. It's a domain machine, and Trend Micro's OfficeScan is installed but it's offline (though it seems to be working). The Windows firewall is disabled, probably because of the school's antivirus installation, so there doesn't seem to be a setting I can access.
I'd guess something on my machine is forcing iTunes to free as it starts to access the Music Store. My heart just sinks every time I start iTunes (dozens of times today), only to see it freeze solid every single time I open it.

Recently I bought a MacBook Pro, the first time I entered a disc into the disc dive it wouldn't load up in Itunes - just kept freezing; and the disc drive made a lot of noise, how can I fix this?
I've had my mac for less than a month and for the first time I put in a disc. I can hear a laser sort of noise as well as the disc flapping about or a motor sort of sound? Sounds really bad to me :/
    Someone please help!

    Sounds like a hardware issue.
Did you buy the system from Apple? If so how recent is recent?  If it is new you have 14 days to return it, not sure what the situation is with refurb systems. If it is over 14 days you should still have warranty support make an appointment at an Apple Store or contact Apple support.
If you bought it from someone other then Apple you will need to contact them.
    good luck

similar problem as others: recent download of ITUNES, first no audio now no access to Music Store-- broken chain symbols after long delay. All other sites work well. Has anyone with windows XP been successful since yesterday? If so, how? And how did you get ahold of someone at Apple?

Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store.
I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with this issue. However, the nature of your question falls outside the type of support provided via email by the iTunes Music Store team. The Music Store team answers non-technical questions about billing, customer accounts, downloading music, and Music Store content.

  • TS3297 Even after having data connectivity can't open iTunes, app store and iBooks

Even after having data connectivity can't access iTunes ,app store,iBooks

I have the same problem. The install seemed to go fine, it rebooted and the only APPLE app I can use is Safari and Itunes, The Mac Apple store freezes, Ibooks, Iphoto etc, all of them just lock up when I open them, even drop down items under the little Apple are frozen. I'm disgusted, any help would be appreciated.

  • ITunes App store down? Maybe something significant happening at Apple?

iTunes app store (purchase or updates) has been down (via iPhone access or computer WiFi) since last night (12+) hours.
I am in Southern California, so it is the U.S. version I am referring to.
I can't help but wonder, indeed hope, they are preparing something big like maybe a software update to fix some of the issues with the 3G (like maybe, a working 3G network phone, OS that permits apps vetted by Apple to crash our phone, etc.).
It is the first time I have seen iTunes app store down for more than a few moments.

I wasn't able to view the Free Apps on I-Tunes but I was able to view all Apps.
I have stop downloading or updating Apps because I believe all the problems everyone including myself are having with the I-Phone all has to do with the Apps because I have never had any problems with my phone or I-Tunes until I started to get Apps. I have the G2 I-Phone and since putting Apps on my phone I have reception problems, Phone crashing, Speaker problems, phone Freezing up, alot of drop calls, ETC. I could go on and on but since I have removed almost all of my Apps bringing the phone back to its normal state a lot of the problems I was haing are disappearing and even the I-tunes back up that would take up to an hour to complete is back to almost normal of about 3 - 5 minutes
I hope Apple discovered the culprit to all the phone problems are coming from the apps and the program they had us installed to use these apps

You can try requesting it via this page (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
But unless the the US rights-holder passes it to Apple and allows them to sell it in the US then Apple won't be able to sell it there

  • My new iPhone 4S can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi. Works with 3G network. How to fix this?

My new iPhone 4S (week old) can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi (and some other apps e.g. Hollister – but most of the other apps like Safari or ebay work fine). There is no problem with those apps loading via 3G network. When I turn off the wi-fi, it runs over 3G and i can access App store without any problem. When i turn off the 3G network and turn the Wi-Fi on, those apps like App Store won't work, other apps work fine. When i turn on both Wi-Fi and 3G, the App store (and so on) is also not working, other apps are.
I also found out that when the Wi-fi is on and I sign out my apple ID, the App store starts working! But when I log in again, it will imediatelly stop working. I've tried logging in with others apple IDs, still with the same result. There is no problem with my apple ID account, because it works on my iPad, even via Wi-Fi.
When i first set up my iPhone, there were no complications using App store ia Wi-fi with exactly the same account. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but this problem started when i logged in with my UK account and then wanted to log back in with my Czech account.
I tried turning it off, hard reset and deleting my iPhone several time (even without back up). Nothing worked since then.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I would really appreciate ANY help. This porblem is driving me crazy!

I am also having the same issue. Please help!
