No, Apple has not removed the "manually update" feature. It still works in my iTunes. I don't think that you drag the song(s) to the music section of your iPod, I drag mine to the iPod icon, and then I click on the music section of my iPod, and the song is there. You might want to try dragging the items to the actual iPod icon, not the music icon.

The latest iTunes version is 11.0.1 version. 11.0.2 does not exist. Have you tried opening Apple menu > Software Update and install iTunes 11.0.1? If it doesn't show up, you have already iTunes 11.0.1

Please Help! Windows won't install IPod Driver!

My brother got a 2GB IPod nano and itunes and everything installs but when i plug in the IPod i get the install driver window. I click to intsall driver but it keeps saying it couldnt find anything to install (even when i have the disc the ipod came with inside). Its a Toshiba labtop. If anyone knows why the driver won't install or had the same problem please help! Thanks

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.

ITunes on Vista... no error message but won't install

I am using Windows Vista and recently had a new harddrive put into my laptop, and am reinstalling programs. I'm having trouble with downloading iTunes. When I get the first window that says "You have chosen to open iTunesSetup.exe" I click Save File and it seems to download, and then that is all it does. There is no error message and when I search through my programs, there is nothing with that title or pertaining to my download. I have tried this several times with the same results. Also I have installed all updates for my laptop and everything is up to date. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Turn off your pop-up blocking software. When you click Save File, a dialogue box is supposed to pop up, asking where you want to save it to. That pop-up is being blocked.

Help! FCS2 Won't install on Snow Leopard?

I installed Snow Leopard. Installation Goes fine until the very end. You stick in the last disc and it comes up and says installation failed. I really need this to work. Do I really have to downgrade to Leopard so My FCS2 will work.

I'm having similar issues. iTunes 9 hung during the install. When it launched, it hung on converting the library, but eventually did it. Took well over a half hour. Then it automatically tried to do a Genius update.
Well, that also hung iTunes and almost an hour.
I then plugged in my wife's 32 GB Touch. Again hung iTunes. Force Quit and re-launch, and it detects the iPod and prompts to update to 3.1.1. Halfway through the update I get a spinning beach ball.
After that is done and I finally sync the **** touch, I update my Podcasts. Spinning beach ball and 15 minutes later, no updates.
Then I turned SoundCheck on. Instant beach ball. It's been an hour and half and it hasn't even done 25% of my library yet. It moves along slowly, but there's a spinning beach ball throughout the whole process so far.
I've rebooted between each spinning beach ball and force quit more times than I can count.

My iPhone cannot connect to iTunes. It says I need to update to 11.0.5 to use iTunes with my iOS 7 iphone 5 but still won't work, any ideas?

I just downloaded and updated to the new iOS 7 software today for it's release. But when I plug my phone into my usb and then into my macbook, it won't work on iTunes. It says it's not compatible and I need to update to the latest iTunes which they say is 11.0.5. When I go online and download the iTunes installer and download the new update, it works out fine and I don't seem to have any trouble with it but as soon as it opens iTunes when the installer finishs, the mesage about compatibility comes up again even though I just updated to 11.0.5. If anyone has any idea, let me know! I'm hoping that maybe it's just a glitch with the new iTunes that needs to be fixed up?

Thank you for your question. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1. First, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

Once the file downloads, double click on the installation file that downloaded to initiate the installation.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Help! software won't install from installation

This is so maddening! I'm trying to install the software from the installation CD and I get error messages "cannot install....." throughout the installation. I called customer support earlier and they told me that my antivirus software is not allowing the software to install properly...so I uninstall a bunch of stuff and I'm STILL getting the error messages. So they said somethign about a microsoft Clean Boot, huh? I'm now 2 hours into this project and am really frustrated!! This was supposed to be fun! Anyone experince problems simply installing the software??

heatherd: You don't say what player you have I believe, but you can typically get the latest versions of the software from Nomadworld.com downloads. Sometimes it's better to download from there and install.

Help! Maverick still won't install.

MacBook Pro 2013. Have had Maverick downloaded for months, can get to screen that says "Select disk to download to", shows hard drive icon with >3GB available. Won't let me select disk or advance. When clicking icon, says "this disk is used for timemachine back up" which is not true, I use an external hard drive for this. Driving me bananas.

Delete the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume on which you're trying to install.

HELP! Pocketmac won't install

I have been trying to install pocketmac and it is not working. The installation works fine until it tries to install the sync manager installer, then the installation acts like it's searching my mac for something, and nothing ever happens. What is going on??

Ok, let's try I clean install, then see how it goes. Do the following
download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save it to disk);
download the FP installer(s) from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html (save to disk; note that there are two installers for Windows - 1 for Internet Explorer, and 1 for all other browsers like Firefox or Opera);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer(s).
Now if you go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ - can you see the Flash animation (rotating red 'F')? If so, Flash Player is correcctly installed and working.
If not, please tell me
what browser(s) are you using?
what files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?

PLEASE HELP! Playbook won't install drivers on the computer

I've just bought my playbook three days ago and I'm very impressed with it. Until I tried to plug it in the computer. Whenever I click the driver installer, it sometimes tries to install, then after decompressing it says "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid". I need a solution please! I've been dying to sync this to my computer.

I have, finally given up on my Playbook. I have spent about 15 hours researching my problem of not being able to connect. i have tried every idea that I found with no success. Then, tonight, it decided that every time I told it to go to Standby, it rebooted, instead.
But, I have to say that my biggest disappointment is with Blackberry Support. Having worked in software support for many years and having dealt with many other support organizations, I can say that BB support is among the very worst.
I submited a ticket on my connection issue and they told me to do a clean deinstall and if that did not work, then go to a Windows person (wow!). i have sent 3 replies, asking for more information and have received absolutely no response.
I have spent a lot of time defending RIM, over the past few months, but I am wondering why I bother.

Latest itunes won't install correctly.

I've downloaded the latest itunes a couple of times now and it still won't install correctly and I can't open the itunes file.
I have fully deleted and uninstalled itunes to try from scratch but that still doesn't work. Any ideas? Also when I turn my computer on it says I'm missing files in order for itunes to work?
