ITunes 7.0.1 resolved/unresolved issues
The ability to select multiple tracks and drag artwork on to them in one go is now restored and working in iTunes 7.0.1.
However the issues I have regarding the new Album Artist tag remain (along with a new one I have discovered which seems to apply to both 7.0.0 and 7.0.1).
1. You cannot browse via Album Artist (only Artist)
2. If you sort by Album Artist, albums containing multiple different Artists (but all labelled as the same Album Artist and Album) are split up instead of being grouped, this affects all three views but is particularly noticeable and annoying when using Album Art view or Coverflow. Note: the only sort that reliably groups the contents of Albums is sort by Album.
3. A new problem I have discovered. I have (as you can gather from above) filled in the Album Artist tag for all my tracks in my library and this does show up correctly in iTunes. However when I examine these tracks in other programs which can read m4a meta tags, these other programs DO NOT see the Album Artist tag as being filled in. This either means, Apple are storing this information in a non standard tag, or are not storing it in the file at all (and only in the iTunes library database). Note: all my tracks are in Apple Lossless (which uses the m4a file and tag format), also this refers to iTunes on Windows.
I have not yet retested using the "Get Album Art" command to see if it a) now gets 600x600 art instead of just 300x300 art, and b) gets the art from your iTunes accounts country store rather than the US store which would help ensure you get the correct artwork for your countries editions of CDs.
You might want to try ALL the steps here for removing iTunes AND quicktime (No Music Will Be lost) Don't download or install itunes yet http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Goto The PC makers site and download/install sound card/audio drivers, Firmware updates for the CD ROM and pretty much any updates they offer that apply to your PC.
Now disable antivirus and reinstall itunes

I am using itunes 10 and trying to consolidate my files. I keep getting the error "Copying files failed. The file name was invalid or too long". How can I indentify what file is causing this problem or resolve this issue?
BUMP
Yes, I just get that message. I don't see how I could investigate this problem.
I didn't mention that this happened when I was consolidating my library, not copying files to another computer.
In other words, I'm using a "normal" itunes procedure, itunes won't complete it, and won't tell me exactly why or how to figure out how to fix it...
Is there at least some easy way to tell which files were successfully copied to my itunes music folder so I can work on moving the uncopied files?
Can anybody help me? -
Please could you advise? ... After installing Itunes 11.3.1.2 on my Laptop and when reconnecting my iPad2 via USB, it is no longer visible under 'My Computer'. Any advice on resolving this issue would be most welcome. Thanks
Any one or a combo may help
Give your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again.
Try a different USB cord
Try a different USB port
Try rebooting your computer
Try closing/opening iTunes.
If you go through that and it doesn't work, try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again -
How do I resolve this issue when I try to download iTunes on my laptop? It fails because of this error message " iTunes64Setup.exe is corrupt or invalid"
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -

Howdy. I keep getting a message stating that my apple ID has been disabled. I recently contacted my CC company, AMEX, for several fradulent iTune charges, which is probably where the problem first originated. How can I resolve this issue?
I had to dispute several unauthorized charges to itunes. My apple id was disabled after that. I followed jarnoldus's (older post) advice and it worked. Im duplicating his entry here with a few modifications. I hope this works for you.
1. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com
2. Choose your product (mine was ipad)
3. Click the "iTunes, App Store or iBooks" icon
4. Click "Apple ID account security"
5. Type in "apple id has been disabled"
6. Choose your country (mine was US)
7. Choose the "talk to apple support now" option
8. Provide the info they request (name, email, phone number)
9. They will call you right away.
Explain your apple id has been disabled. The rep will connect you to an iTunes rep. He/she will look up your account. You will be required to answer your 3 security questions. You MUST get a minimum of 2 correct. If you succeed they will enable your id. Good luck! -
