every time i try to install itunes i come to a dead-end with a new window poping up reading--
"Could not open key:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\software\classes\QuickTimePl
ayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID. Verify that you
have sufficent access to that key, of contact your
support personnel"

windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is avabilable.
... and that's one that I wasn't thinking of ...
Head into your Windows Update. Are there any new updates available for you? If so, and you install, does that clear up the error message?

Itunes 7 - win xp pro will not install "iTunes needs quicktime" error

iTunes 7 will not complete the install - it says the old version of iTunes could not be uninstalled and then says "iTunes needs quicktime". I tried installing quicktime alone and it also won't install saying it cannot remove the old version. Tried a manual uninstall and I get the same error.

A tip posted by b noir on the following link solved my problem. I just downloaded "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" from Microsoft, removed my existing version of Qiucktime. Restarted my computer then started fresh with Itune 7 installation. No more problems.

Latest iTunes update Apple Mobile device will not install

Having a lot issues with trying to get AMDS to install after installing the iItune update, as such unless this can be installed itunes will not recognise my iphone.
This problem all started when I installed the latest update, everthing installed except apple mobile device, error message was " service apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficent privileges to start system services. Have tried nurmerous uninstalls and reinstalls still no luck. Tried the advice on restarting according to apple support but the problem is that AMDS is no where to be seen in the "services" to try and restart it. Tried individual install using itunessetup.exe through Winrar (applemobiledevice.msi) still no luck, the installer goes throught intially but then it "rolls back" and states an error has occured and it can't install it.
Running out of idea's and from looking at the threads there seems to be alot of people with the same problem, but no fixes as yet, is there anyone out there that can sort this issue, as it would be much appreciated.

I am Having Exactly the problems running win 7 I have installed / uninstalled rebooted clead reg the lot 5 times as ****. I have wasted many hours on this.

It's sounding a bit like a problem with your Apple Software Update.
Restart the PC. Now go into your Uninstall a program control panel. Can you see Apple Software Update in the list of programs? If so, select Apple Software Update and click "Repair".
If the repair goes through okay, can you get the updates to go through properly now?

Itunes 12.1.0.71 will not install on win 7 error 1053

I have a BIG problem...cannot install 12.1.0.71...The install gets about 90% thru and then I get the error....Windows could NOT start Apple Mobile Device Services error 1053...The Service did not respond......after trying all the solutions I found online I called Apple support and paid 99$(which was not refunded) and two of their techs...the supposed top level Cathy...was unable to help....after two hours of work....they can remotely see and guide me as to what to try and it was mostly what was published online at apple support re how to really uninstall Itunes properly which we did about 6 times...and still it would not get past the "windows could not startt AMDS and errors 1053 and service did not respond and error 7 win error 193 and itunes helper not installed correctly....those later errors occur when you ignore that AMDS did not start...etc....
So I am kind of stuck....
Other things we tried....Disable Norton....Clean the registry using Norton Utilities....No other hidden Viruses around all clear on that....Win 7 totally updated....used the windows service that checks just about every kind of possible bug in system from the MS site...no help there...
In the whole process I lost the ability to restore to an earlier version that worked that disappeared off the restore calendar.
SO HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

Itunes 10.7.0 21x64 will not install

New windows 7 64 bit install attempting to run Itunes 10.7.0 21x64. Get error on start of install that says:
"The installer encountered errors before itunes could be configured.
Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified."
Have Anti-Virus turned off, running as an administrator and attempted to run in Vista sp2 compat. mode. Always the same error regardless of what I do.
Any one seen this? Work around?

After being insessantly nagged to install the latest version of iTunes (11.1.4.62) I atempted to do so. I refuses to install correctly citing a problem with the remote device installer (?). Can I install the previous version? How do I get it?

Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but when you get to this step, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80073712, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

Brand new ipod. Spent all night trying to download the software but as the green bar is progressing, "Stopping services" comes on just above the green bar and it stays there till it times out. ITunes Up grade will not install

I have an upgrade for iTunes 12.0.1 that will not install.
It starts and appears to install but doesn't complete. it shows in the area below as it has been installed but stays as a update.
also when i check about iTunes it still shows 12.0.0

Is your computer still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?
