Itunes 7.01 shuts down soundcard on my computer. Woun´t re-install

Hello
New iPod owner but old computer user. Problem: I had on my computer iTunes installed. Bought a new Ipod 80gb and when connected, iTune did not open. Downloaded newest itunes last week and everyhting worked fine. BUT, realised very soon that I could get no sound out of my IBM T60p laptop. It indicated that everyhting works fine, but still no sound anywhere. To see why, I used System Restore and whent back to the day before uppgrading iTunes. Soundcard etc was again workin as it should. Great, for a while. Decided to uninstal old itunes and then reinstalled the new iTunes 7. All went well with installations but when I tried to open it this information appeared: "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-200)". When going back to to later System Restore iTunes opens and works but no sound from computer.(It cannot locate soundcard. So now I have two options: no iTunes but all sounds or no sounds and iTunes. What now? Help from all you experts out there is highly apreciated. thanks, Mag

When an internet connection is available, I run iTunes and it shuts down on my Windows 7 64bit computer.  It used to crash when I went to the iTunes store but, after installing the newest version of iTunes it crashes if there is an internet connection.  I can turn off my internet access and then run the software but, once I try the iTunes store again it crashes.  It does not give an error message as to why its doing this.  Just says it encountered a problem.  I cannot do anything with my iPad or iPod without this working.  Its extremely frustrating.
I have also contacted Apple several times and they give me links to other's problems but, none have worked to fix this.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

    This is what worked:
"In iTunes, I signed out of the store. I exited itunes and restarted it, logged back into the store (with my apple id), then I pulled down the iTunes menu in the menu bar and selected Check for updates.
At this point it said that iTunes 11.1 was available and I'm downloading now " Quoted from a fellow user.
    It fixed my problem.

  • Itunes will not shut down on mac

My itunes will not shut down when I close it out.  The itunes ball will bounce up and down and reopen itself.
I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and this has started in the last 3 weeks.
I thought it was my blackberry software and had that removed.  It has continued afterwards.
I do have all of my music on an external hard drive.
    Thanks

Thanks wjosten I have read that and all the links in it. I did finally get it to work. I downloaded iTunes and reinstalled it. Now the one computer I wanted it to work with is OK.

I've tryed a lot of things like reset SMC and PRAM, repair permissions, verify disk, safe boot, quit (and force quit) iTunes before shut down etc., but nothing helps.

I tries and it doesnt work!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Help everytime I shut down or restart my computer my internet service goes out!!!

I have a desktop HP Pavilion Intel Core Quad
its Windows 7 and my internet service provider is Time Warner.
It is not a wireless connection.
For a few days now everytime I shut down or restart my computer my internet service goes out and I am unable to access the intenet. I get the error message "unidentified network no internet access"  I do not even want to shut off my computer for fear of losing the internet access. The most recent time this has happened I called my ISP to reset my connection. I have never had to do this before so I am not sure whay is going on?
Anyone have any insight or ideas to fix this?

Your PC won't automatically choose a public network since your PC is not autonomous.
If you are using  wired CAT5 connection, then your network is whatever internal adress the internet modem or router has provided. If the only thing your PC is connected to is your Time Warner router then the identified network comes from the router.

  • Itunes will not shut down.  it keeps reopening?

its the latest version, windows 7 is up to date. after updating iphone and ipad tp iOS 5 itune keeps opening every 2-3 minutes, it will not stop!  i uninstalled it and reinstalled, still the same.  this is maddening!

    Hi jkherman.
I am having a similar problem.  I shut down iTunes and then shut off my computer (MBP 13", 2.9 GHz i7, OS X 10.9).
When I reboot, iTunes appears to be running, however the window is not visible, but the icon is lit from underneath in my dock and iTunes is running when I check the Activity Monitor.
Also, it will not shut down from the dock icon.  I need to go into Force Quit to shut it down.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Itunes Has To Shut Down

my brother sent our computer to a reset point and i had to un-install Itunes. Now when i try to re-install itunes it completes but then comes up with a message saying Itunes has encountered a problem and has to shut down. It also says about sending an "error report" which i have done but nothing has come of it. PLEASE HELP people

top fixes for a new iTunes install/upgrade are
    - turning off security software such as Norton before the install as Apple suggests
    - installing QuickTime standalone, not regular
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
    - setting up Norton to allow iTunes
    - scanning for malware with ewido (Free at www.ewido.net/en/)
    - last but not least, using MSCONFIG to find Windows conflicts

I downloaded and updated to itunes 10.5. When I launch the application it brings up the "Enter account name and password" login window for my account. After I type my password and click "Check" to verify, the application shuts down. I even tried pressing "Cancel" and it still shuts down. I have restarted my computer, completely unistalled and reinstalled iTunes and am still have the same problem.
