ITunes 7.1.1.5 regularly crashes Vista Ultimate
Although I have installed iTunes fresh on a fresh installation of Vista Ultimate (32-bit), iTunes regularly crashes Vista. The application after a couple of minutes freezes solid and then Vista crashes. This occurs with or without an iPod attached. Any thoughts or suggestions? I am dual-booting with XP Pro on another hard drive and iTunes works solidly in XP Pro. (Sarcastically telling me to stay with XP Pro will not be helpful.)

on some PCs with Intel chipsets and RAID configurations under Vista, there have been problems with the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager.

Itunes Won't recognize cd-drive in Vista Ultimate
When I try to burn a cd in Itunes it says "Disc burner or software not found" in the top. I have Nero(latest edition), up to date itunes , up to date drivers, and have successfully burned cd's using nero. When I run the Diag, I get this:

Okay. With a 2380 on a 64-bit version of Vista (or XP), try reinstalling the appropriate version of the 64-bit GEAR drivers that iTunes uses for burning and importing.
The GEAR drivers are available from the following page. (There are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers, so be sure to get the one that matches your hardware.)

Can't burn cd's using iTunes 7.3 and 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate
Every time I try to burn a CD I get the following error:
"Disc Burner or Software Not Found"
I have checked Device Manager and no problems with the disc burner there. I've even burned cd's from Windows Media Player(and dvd movies with other programs), but I would prefer using iTunes 7.3 to burn cd's. From reading the discussions it is my understanding that iTunes cd burning functionality doesn't work with 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. Is there a fix for this? Please advise.Here's how to get Itunes to work in Vista and XP64 bit:
Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
Type “cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64″
Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll
If you don’t do Run as Administrator, the regsvr32 will fail. Also, be careful to run the command in SysWOW64, not System32! System32 on a 64-bit system actually contains the 64-bit system libraries. -
Can anyone explain why the new itunes 7.1 the claimed fix!! now crashes vista as soon as i open it and is there another fix i can try i have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times to no avail PLEASE HELP it already corrupted my ipod now i have a blank ipod and no way to sync it!!!!

iTunes and Vista are not playing very nicely together at this point. I would hope that the next version will smooth out all the kinks. I believe it should be out soon. But as for the crashing thing, I have not heard that one before. -
iTunes no longer works on my Windows VISTA system. Get error msg saying an application is attempting to access C runtime library incorrectly... Error 7, Windows error 1114. Same msg, or one that says unable to install, when trying to update or reinstall iTunes. iTunes worked well up until about a month ago when this error msg starting appearing.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

How can I get iTunes 11.1.5 to stop crashing every time I open it?
Just yesterday, iTunes randomly started determining the audio volume for all of the songs in my library. I had my iPhone 5s connected to my computer via usb cable at the time because I was adding a new album. All of a sudden iTunes froze and then it crashed. I have not been able to successfully run iTunes since.
This is the message I keep getting everytime I open iTunes.
No matter which of the two options I choose, iTunes crashes everytime. I've tried restarting my computer, deleting iTunes, reinstalling it, and installing a previous version of iTunes (11.1.4). None of these things have worked. Any ideas or anyone having a similar problem?iTunes 11.1.5 has been crashing on me regularly, it does open though and I can play streaming audio for a while, then it crashes. This version seems very unstable to me, I've only had it on my iMac for a couple of weeks and I've had no end of problems.
I am adding my crash report to this post hoping someone will see something, I don't.

My iTunes app on my iPhone keeps crashing every time i open it.
Hello, is anyone having issues with the new iOS 7 update? Every since i updated my iPhone, my iTunes and various other apps keep crashing.
Anyone have this problem, then figure out a solution?

That's an odd one. It's one of your Microsoft Visual C runtime libraries.
An sfc /scannow may be of some assistance with an operating system file like that. It's an even-less user-friendly experience on XP than Vista and 7, but the following article may be of some assistance with the most common pitfalls:

iTunes 11.3.0.54 consistently crashes on my Windows 7 laptop, always when it tries to do something that depends on a connection with Apple (such as connecting to the Store, or Match). When I start iTunes in safe mode, everything works fine, including Store and Match. This article instructs me to remove all plugins, but it turns out that I don't have any (and yes, I do see hidden files). How can I fix this? Can I always start iTunes in safe mode, for example with a command line parameter?

Hi All,
I am using Vista ultimate 32bit fully updated and have itunes 7.6 installed.
Each time I open itunes an error appears saying itunes has stopped working.
Itunes 7.5 was like this but occasionally did open, however 7.6 just refuses to open at all, and after buying my nephew a 160 gig classic today for his birthday he is more than a little upset with this and would be grateful for any help solving this issue.
Apple updater software used to crash, however, since downloading itunes 7.6 that has just ran for the first time ever with no problems.
Please could someone point me to a solution to this very frustating problem. I have looked online for a uk support phonehumber for apple and can't find one, and after spending £500 on ipods in the last two weeks am a little upset wth this.I'm running Vista Home. After I upgraded to 7.0.29, I purchased 2 songs. 1-downloaded, the other did not. It does not show in purchased. But I have a receipt. So, I contacted them via eMail.
First, the reply said that they put it in my account. So, when I went to my account, it wasn't there. I wrote them back.
Second recply was that they didn't verify that it made it into my account and assured me it was not there.
Since then, when i try to signin to my account, it says, "access iTunes Store..." AND THAT IS IT. I have uninstalled the software. I have wiped out the folders. I have removed the registry keys. I have re-installed the software and I get THE SAME RESULT - "Accessing iTunes Store" and that is it.
I have tried contacting them again and again as this is now day #3 and I am getting NO replies. I have tried to find a number to call then and they don't have support any other way except eMail. My requests for help are falling on deaf ears AND THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS AND KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY. I'm sorry I ever purchased this iPod. -
New 80GB ipod keeps crashing Vista!! Help
Hi,
I've tried looking for this problem in the forum to no avail.
Basically I ahve just bought a new PC with Windows Vista. iTunes 7.0 worked fine since install. When i tried to sync the new 80GB 5th Gen ipod that i have just bought it crashed Vista. I then downloaded itunes 7.1 to solve the problem but alas it is still happeneing.
When ipod is plugged in it begins to sync, but then freezes everything in vista, and turns toa blue screen informing me that there is a hardware problem and windows is going to restart.
I would really appreciate any help, from anyone in regard to this, as I am a loss what to do.

hmmm. rather a lot of different things can cause that one on XP:
Troubleshooting "Stop 0x00000077" or "KERNELSTACK_INPAGEERROR"
but the fact that you're getting it on Vista is a bit of a wild card.
okay, let's try getting a minidump of the crash to the Apple Engineers for a look. (that may help with identifying which driver/file on the system is causing the crash.)
let's also capture a minidump of the crash and send it to someone who can interpret minidumps.
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.

Vista Ultimate / iTunes / iPod Compatibility?
I just upgraded my PC to Windows Vista Ultimate, and I find that when I dock my iPod in order to Sync it up, iTunes freezes & crashes on me. Vista doesn't even detect that I have the iPod connected, but the iPod has the 'Do Not Disconnect' circle flashing.
Anyone else encounter this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

... something else I noticed too (when I let it sit, and it eventually starts syncing on its own), it's not letting me add any photos nor any video to the iPod. They worked in WinXP, so I don't know why they wouldn't work now.
I get the following messages when I try to add Vids or Pics to my iPod:
Video:
<filename> was not copied to the iPod <iPod name> because it cannot be played on this iPod. ... after i click <OK>, it does nothing, and NONE of the videos i added show up in the iPod at all. I didn't change anything to the files. All I did was install the new OS. And, the files are all MP4s.

Some of your photos, including <filename> were not copied to the iPod <iPod name> because they cannot be displayed on your iPod. ... and again, after i click <OK>, it does nothing, and NONE of the pics i added show up. they're JPEGs, so unless the OS upgrade changed the viewable types, there shouldn't be a problem here, right?

It's possible a newer driver may help. Visit nVidia.com to facilitate downloading/installing their latest release.
That said, I've also found Photoshop can get flakey once you start working on 3D stuff. I've had amazing, long sessions where it just worked, and I've had others where it just wouldn't cooperate - doing exactly the same things.
It's then that you start to appreciate the auto-save in the background, but even then once in a while it doesn't auto-recover, so you want to save your work in multiple master files fairly often.
I think the latest version (14.1.2) seems about the most stable for 3D work so far.

I have 5 devices authorized to my itunes account. 2 of them crashed long ago. Now that I have a new pc, I am unable to authorize it. I think from what I've read that I should "deauthorize all" and then go back and authorize my current 3 devices. Is this correct? I have tons of music and need to make sure I won't lose anything. No that is not correct.
Devices do not count toward the 5. Authorization is only for computers, not iphone/ipod/ipad/Apple tv.
