ITunes 7.2 want to add a drive...

iTunes 7.2 won't install on my computer! As soon as I open the iTunes setup, it tells me "Invalid Drive H:\".
The only drives that I have are:
Internal Hard Drive, C:\
External Hard Drive, G:\
Floppy, A:\
And CD Drive, D:\
It should automatically install on C, which is my primary hard drive.
I currently have iTunes 7.1.1.5
So why does iTunes insist to install on nonexistent drive H?

the following installshield document is a good place to start with that one:

I just purchased a new macbookpro and I would like to put the music from my iphone to my macbook.  I have downloaded from iTunes, however it want to add ALL music to my macbook.

When you plug in the iPhone, go to the menu bar and select "Transfer all purchases" to move them to your MacBook Pro.
If that doesn't work. Go here for a whole list of Apps that can help you.
I personally like Music Rescue the most.  You can get it here and use the License Key that they give out for FREE now.

Try using RecBoot to kick it out of recovery mode. If that does not work, try a manual install, as outlined in link below. If it STILL keeps entering recovery mode, you most likely need a new logic board.

  • Itunes doesn't want to add a m4a.mp3 audio file

Hi everybody, a friend of mine sent me some university lessons she recorded on her computer. They are m4a.mp3 files and Itunes doesn't want to read them or add them on my Ipod 6th generation. What can I do? Thanks in advance guys!

    Hi Caminouflet,
.m4a and .mp3 are two different file formats. If they are actually .m4a files, the .mp3 at the end of the file name may be confusing iTunes as to how they should be played. For more information about file formats in iTunes, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • Want to add Zip drive to G4

I'd like to add an internal 750MB Zip drive to the extra Bay under my DVD superdrive on my dual 500 Gigabit ethernet. Can I do this and how? The bay has a plastic cover I can't seem to remove.

Yes you can do this. It is easy to remove the cover. I installed the original Zip drive and managed to find a cover with the slot in on ebay.
    Go to http://www.apple.com/support/powermac/g4/
where you can find a manual for the G4 for general info.
    At http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3-ZONE/hival52x/install.html
you will find instructions for installing a DVD-R drive with shows you how to remove this front cover.
    Good luck

  • Want to use external drive for new Mac, fresh iTunes

So I recently got a new Mac and have not transferred any music to it yet. In fact I haven't even launched iTunes. I want to store all of my music and play it from an external drive. I have found articles detailing how to transfer your library from your internal drive to an external one but I don't have an internal library of music on this machine. How do I set up iTunes to play from an external library for the first time? And how do I add my backed up music from my previous iTunes to that external drive's new music library? Do I just drag the files into the folder and hope iTunes will recognize them?
    Thanks!

okay, i had to collect my thoughts for a moment
... but I don't have an internal library of music on this machine.
is *this machine* the new Mac ?
How do I set up iTunes to play from an external library for the first time?
the files will have to be added to iTunes. however, with the correct settings, they can be put straight on the external.
in order to set up iTunes on the new Mac, you will have to launch it. with the external drive mounted on your new Mac's desktop, go iTunes > preferences > advanced and point +iTunes media folder location+ to the external. this will cause iTunes to put all newly added content in that location.
also on the advanced tab, check +keep iTunes media folder organized+ and +copy files to ... when adding to library+.
And how do I add my backed up music from my previous iTunes to that external drive's new music library?
did you back up the music to disk ? if so, you should probably authorize iTunes with your iTMS account details, then just pop in the disk(s) and add the content to your library.
if you have backed up to an external HD, use the +add to library+ command from the file menu and navigate to the folder containing your media files.

  • I have a TC for my backups but now I want to add an external hard drive

I have a TC for my backups but now I want to add an external hard drive to my TC and share what is on it within my own network. I can see the hard drive from airport Configurator but I cant acces it. What should i do?

Hard drive getting full or near full?
Here are some of my tips for deleting or archiving data off of your internal hard drive.
Do a search for and downlaod and install OmniDisk Sweeper and OnyX.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive older emails you want to save to disc, Flash drive/s or to ext. hard drive.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, Flash drive or ext. hard drive and/or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Uninstall apps that you no longer use. If the app has a dedicated uninstaller, use it to completely uninstall the app. If the app has no uninstaller, then just drag it to the OS X Trash icon  and empty the Trash.
Also, if you save old downloaded  .dmg application installer  files, you can either archive and delete these or just delete the ones you think you'll never install, again.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its thing initially, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run all of the processes in the tabs. Let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be thinned out, moved, also, to the external hard drive and then either archived to disc, Flash drive or ext. hard drive and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • One hard drive's full, I want to add another........

i have my library on an external hard drive and it will soon be full. i want to know if i can add a new hard drive and have new content go the the new drive while still leaving the current content on the old drive? can itunes pull files from more than on drive or does my entire library have to be on one drive?
    thanks

    Good news!
    1. You can have all the external drives you want with a single iTunes interface/account.
    2. I currently have seven external drives (4 TB total), all current updates too ...
    3. Here's the trick (and the downside to it):
A-- import the album, movie, tv show, etc.
B-- copy the specific file (from your iTunes music folder) to another drive
C-- delete the original file and empty the trash (otherwise iTunes will find it in the trash and play it)
D-- in your iTunes program window, click to play the TV show, movie, etc.
E-- you will get a prompt that says the file is missing, and it will ask you if you want to locate it ... of course, you say yes ...
F-- just like opening any file, you select the new drive location, go through any sub folders, and then "choose" the file ...
G-- iTunes will remember the location of that file (forever) and you're done.
H-- iTunes backups work just fine -- BUT if you want to delete the file, you have to delete it from your iTunes library AND manually delete the file from the additional drive (if the file is no longer in the iTunes music folder).
note: the iTunes music folder includes sub folders for TV, movies, podcasts, etc ... it's not just music)
The obvious is that the drive will always have to be plugged in (I actually use linked time capsules and piggy-backed drives) ... but the not so obvious is that this process is tedious -- and massively time consuming when you're talking about always moving stuff around. Basically, you're always moving stuff to keep the drives from getting too full.
The downside? Buy the biggest drive you can -- at least 1 TB (time capsule is nice, and a very quiet drive). That will keep you from moving stuff around ... you can even move your iTunes music folder there, then not have to use multiple drives, keep everything in the iTunes music folder.
I've used iTunes since before the iTunes store ... and as a person who really hates throwing away TV seasons I paid a lot for (and movies, etc) ... the drive space really adds up fast. I can't stress enough to get the largest drive possible -- and back up your iTunes files.
    Good luck - and enjoy!

ive changed my hard drive on my pc tower does that mean my iphone 5 is not synced anymore so if i want to add a new pictures folder will it erase my other pictures?

Each time you sync photos from a computer to an iPhone using iTunes, the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone are set to match the current settings/selections on the photos page of iTunes. If you moved your previously synced photos to the new computer and if you select them to be synced to the phone along with any new photos you want synced then they will all go to the phone. If you don't include them in the selection to be synced, they will be deleted from the phone. Note that you can rearrange the old photos into different photos on the computer if desired, sync just some of them if desired, etc. Each time you sync, the phone is set to match the current settings for photos.

  • I have over 5000 songs on my ipod and can not see a way of keeping them if I want to set up a new itunes libary. I want to add my tunes from my ipod to a new itunes libary without it saying it will wipe what I already have. please help

    Hi everyone.
I had an itunes account for my classic and a few months ago wanted to add my daughters ipod to it. it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account and asked me if i wanted it to link her ipod and delete the current libary. like a fool i said yes. now i have a party comming up and cant plug my classic in without it saying if i sync it will wipe my 6000 songs and leave me with the new blank itunes that i have just set up.
what i want to do is add my 6000 songs to a new apple id libary/itunes without it wiping all my songs. does anyone know how to do this.
    help thanks

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

  • I've had a problem with syncing itunes, when i sync it dosent sync songs previously deleted it just greys them out, which is great but if i want to add a new video or song from my computer it wont sync it will just grey out and wont play. now all my songs

ive had a problem syncing with itunes recently. when i delete a song on my iphone when i sync with my computer it still syncs but just greys out and is rendered useless. thats great unless i when i want to add new music or videos from my pc to my iphone it wont sync and will just grey out. i looked for solutions and one said that deleteing all your music from the usage in settings would fix it, well now when i sync all of my music is greyed out. ive tried adding all of my songs manually into my ipod instead of syncing entire library and nothing. (also when i select to sync music nothing shows up in the usage bar (normally 3 gigs)  might help) could someone please help?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • When I want to add an album onto my iphone using itunes, I am successful in  putting one album on my phone but when I want to add another album it deletes the first album I put on my phone. How can I add more albums without some albums disappearing?

I am having a problem with importing cds onto my iPhone. I have successfully added a playlist or album to my phone but when I want to add another album/artist, the first album that was on there has all of a sudden disappeared. Its like I can only have one album on my phone. This is my first time dealing with anything Apple because I have been using android phones. Any help would be appreciated as I don't fully understand iTunes.

You can delete photos from individual albums but not from the camera roll.  If you try to delete a photo from camera roll it will be deleted from all other albums ("locations") that contain the photo.  This is because the actual photo is in the camera roll (the albums only contain links to the photo in camera roll, not the actual photo).
