ITunes 7.4.3.1 skinned titlebar

Hey there
i just got a new Computer which is with Windows Vista....i installed the newest iTunes version.
Now when I'm starting iTunes the Titelbar is skinned like on MACs, I ricghclick there, choose Options nad reset the function "Skin your Titlebar". ok...after a few minutes, iTunes is like i know it.
But on new starting the Computer and starting iTunes, the titlebar is skinned....i hate it so =)....it's horrible...do you know the reason for it?
and...my Sound isn't as good as earlier....i have no bass....can you also help me?

Do you have an older version of multiplugin (for iTunes) installed on that PC? That can sometimes cause problems with skins after upgrading to a newer version of iTunes.

I have to agree with you there. When my daughter came home from college for a visit, she exclaimed, "What'd you do to iTunes, its so UGLY?" She won't be upgrading for awhile.
You would think Apple would have a few choices in the preference menu. I'm suprised they don't, looks like their slipping.

Skins for iTunes v9.1.1.12

I was trying to find a decent skin for my iTunes and downloaded 'Silent Night skin' from deviantART.com, I went on youtube to see how to change the skin, followed the instructions to the letter BUT unknowing to me the downloaded skin was for iTunes (v9.1.0.79 only)and not my recently updated v9.1.1.12 ... files were copied across and installed but my iTunes skin did not change ... Will this affect my iTunes at a later date?? Do I need to get rid of these files, if so how do I do that? And where can I get a decent number of skins for my version!! Also why doesn't iTunes start making their own skins that are simple to download and install correctly as the default skin is drab and boring!!

Only Apple knows for sure, but my guess is "No". Apple shows no interest in making any of their products customizable (or supporting truly advanced features, for that matter).
Apple makes simple software for simple people, for the most part. If the Amish wrote software, they'd write for Apple.

ITunes 7: "memory could not be read" error

I am running the latest version of iTunes 7 and sometimes get the following error message:
"Instruction at Ox5ad71331 referenced memory at 0x00000014. Memory could not be read"
This happens after iTunes crashes. The appearance of the crash is that the font will become very dark/bold and dark lines will appear around the cells of the library, then the program will crash.
Is this related to iTunes 7 or Multi-Plugin, which I use to make my media buttons on my laptop work with iTunes? I have no skinning options chosen.

I uninstalled the Multi-plugin and haven't had the problem since, in fact, no crashes at all.

ITunes 6 prints text directly on Windows Desktop

ITunes 6.0 and 6.0.1 come up, a lot of the time, printing tracks directly on the Windows desktop. That is to say iTunes doesn't have its skin and does not clear the space it is going to draw graphics on. It really only shows text when it does this. You can read the text but when you update something, new text prints over the old text without erasing the old text.
I suspect this is specific to Windows 2000, but I really don't know.
If I get this behavior, no matter how many times I restart iTunes, I can't get rid of it. But if I reboot Windows 2000, usually iTunes comes up the next time without this behavior.
I use this Windows 2000 box mainly because it has a big disk on it. I use it only for iTunes and Slimserver (the Slim Devices streaming server).

First, try the most obvious things. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. Also reinstall the latest DirectX on your system. Those usually fix these sort of weird display issues.

ITunes Fails to Load.

I recently got a new montior. I always use iTunes for my songs to be played, and since i got a new monitor, and it is really big, the bright white of iTunes and the big-ness of the screen gave me a headache.
I downloaded MultiPlugin for iTunes to get a new skin, but when i click iTunes to open it, i get a messaged saying this:

Multiplugin causes a lot of trouble. The best thing is to get rid of it.

DLL Image Error

After downloading iTunes 7.3, I keep getting the following error message:
DLL C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll
is not a valid image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
What happens is iTunes opens, but without the skin, so I can see text but there's no white backround rendering it unusable. I tried every troubleshooting tool I use (e.g. registry cleaner) but nothing works. Si Ican't use iTunes , which is a massive problem if you have an iPod!
Nothing on the support pages quite relates, so I'd appreciate any help.

Just in case someone else is viewing this, I finally fixed this problem. If you are reading this, that probably means you have the same problem. There a tens of this "Bad Image" error Posts in this forum and in the Microsoft forum.
I believe that "Image" is the clue here, but it took me a very long time to figure that out.
Via a very circuitous route I ended up at the Intel support site (a friend suggested this). There you can download a drive update utility, which I did. When it was run, it informed me that it thought I have a vendor customized Graphics driver and (thank you very much) I should be careful about downloading a new driver from them. Therefore I did not. However, that indicated to me that there could be a Graphics Driver problem.
I then recalled that in my many and various travels across the internet reading something about a "Recovery Manager" that HP installs in the product (again, thank you very much). HP customer support has a set of instructions on how to use the tool on their website: (Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7).
I ran the Manager and replaced the Intel Graphics Drive. Problem solved.
I hope that this may be of help to others.

Prevent PopUpManager from obscuring TitleBar in custom application skin?

For a custom chrome application, I have a TitleBar component in my skin, above the contentGroup. The PopUpManager overlays its popups over this bar. Is there some way to prevent this?

If you want to position things in the contentGroup above other things in
Flex 4 there is a layer property.
Popups are not parented by the contentGroup. If you want them to float but
not obscure a titlebar, just change the .y value after it pops up.

Will all my skins or album covers be safe or will they be changed when I subscribe to iTunes match and the upload process begins. Some of my skins or album covers I had to add to old songs that didn't have them or were from a Billboard 100 list.

They shoud be safe.. though you may run into a few glitches with it.

i downloaded an itunes skin and it comes up as a .rsrc thing what is this and how do i make it work?

its a hack. without knowing what theme it is, i cant tell you how to install it. it most likely isn't for the current version of itunes, and would have to be updated.
you might be able to use shapeshifter to apply the theme, if you are not running leopard.

My iTunes has a strange skin/look.

A while ago when I got back from my vacation I opened my itunes and it had changed.. color. I took some screen shots of the problem. Also, it occasionally turns normal again but stays only until I close my itunes again. So, if anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.
(Also, the problem doesn't really affect itunes in general... the colors are just horrible...and it's hard to read a lot of stuff)

Missing menu commands in Itunes 6

Ever since I downloaded Itunes 6, I am missing certain menu commands like "File," the ability to create playlists or enter/change track information.
Anybody else have similar problems? I am at a loss as far as what to do...

Somehow the titlebar became skinned. I just left-clicked the titlebar area, selected options, and unchecked skin the titlebar... Can't believe I spent hours trying to figure that out.

Some songs on iTunes have swears in them but are not marked with an "EXPLICIT" sign. Is there a possible way for you to fix this? And is there some way for me to send a list of songs that I have come across so that customers know what they're buying?

This can be done easily with ethernet.
Please follow the instructions strictly.
To make it easier I want you to do this overnight so you can turn off all your current connection to the internet.
Just go to the airport fan in to the top right and turn airport off.
Get ethernet cable and connect the laptop to the TC lan port.. ie <-> ones.
Press and hold the reset on the TC for about 10sec. until the front led flashes rapidly.
Open the airport utility.. go to manual setup and change the wireless to off. (so other people around you cannot join your network of one).
Ignore all the errors.. they won't stop the backup working.
Go to the TM and reselect the backup target disk as the TC.
It should start after 2min and run through to completion.
That is it.. for a backup of many GB it might take a few hours.. so make sure the laptop has power plugged in and the sleep is off.. (on early ones I think this is needed but I am a late arrival to the scene).. sleep doesn't affect later OS.
