ITunes 7.7.1 & iPhoto & iPhone sync

I have a iPhoto Library which I use on multiple computers. The whole library ("iPhoto Library") has been copied to a network drive and I use iPhoto to open this library (instead of the local library in Pictures). When I try to sync some photos into an iPhone, on one computer iTunes correctly shows the Albums and the photo counts in each album. The sync works fine and the photos end up on the phone.
On the other computer iPhoto works fine. It shows all photos from the shared library just as it looks on the other computer. However, when I want to sync some photos with iTunes on this other computer to a (different) iPhone, iTunes correctly shows the names of the albums but all with a count of 0. It looks as if iTunes recognizes the albums but thinks the whole photo library is empty.
Is there anything I can do to make iTunes recognize the photos in the iPhoto library? iPhoto works fine on both computers and all pictures are shown including all the albums. iTunes on the first computer sees all photos. iTunes on the second computer see none...
EDIT: it is even worse: no iTunes on the first computer shows exactly the same. 0 photos everywhere. iPhoto looks good. So now I cannot get any photos from iPhoto to those iPhones.

  • Iphoto-iphone sync weirdness after upgrading to Mavericks

I didn't receive any replies on the Mavericks board, so I'll repost this here.  Really puzzled and annoyed.
recently upgraded my iMac to Mavericks from Snow Leopard (early adopter that I am).  Much has gone more smoothly than I expected.
However, one thing that is really strange is that after I synced my iphone 5s, I noticed that two of the iphoto albums I've synced include some extraneous photos on the phone (not in the albums on iphoto on the iMac).  I tried deleting the albums from the phone during the next sync, duplicating and renaming them in iphoto, and syncing to the new albums, but the extraneous pictures are still there.
I'm syncing to my computer and not icloud, for what it's worth.
Since then, I've noticed that not only are most of the albums messed up, but the time/date stamps on the pictures are all wrong so sorting by date reusults in a fairly chaotic mess.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Jim

Just upgraded and Iphoto will not work,
Check that iPhoto is v9.5.1 (In Applications, highlight iPhoto, and ⌘I)
If it is v9.5.1, then hold option-command and click the iPhoto icon and go through the repair steps.

  • HELP! iTunes won't show iPhoto when syncing iPhone 6

PLEASE HELP!! I know this has been covered to some degree in other threads, but I haven't been able to solve this. My iTunes will not sync my iPhoto Library wih my iPhone 6.
Basically, I bought a new iPhone 6, which was restored from backup. I was never an avid user of iPhoto in the past and because most of my photos come from a different camera and most of my pictures have been compiled through time, I never really saw the point in filling up my measly 16gb iPhone 4s with a bunch of pictures. So I never really synced my photos in the past.
Now that I have a 128GB iPhone 6 I figured I could start sycing my pics and share them or whatever. I'd like to able to sync to my iPhoto Library via iTunes to my iPhone.
So this is what happens. I can see my photos fine on iPhoto. When I connect my iPhone, only iPhoto launches and it 'll download any recent pics.
When I launch iTunes, it'll detect my phone - BUT when I go to the Photos tab, when trying to sync to my iPhoto Library, the ONLY option I am given is to sync to "PICTURES" folder which contains my 'desktop pictures' folder with only 40 some pics... BUT IT ALSO HAS MY IPHOTO LIBRARY WHICH ITUNES WILL NOT PICKUP ON???
Am I missing something?? thanks everybody in advance for helping me.

When I go through Media... It shows me iPhoto and Photo Booth icon but prompts me to open iPhoto to see the photos... even though as you can see from the window in the background iPhoto is open....
And thanks very much for taking the time to help btw...

  • IPhoto-iPhone sync creates duplicate photos

Every time I sync my iphone with iPhoto, it duplicates photos. It's not photos that were taken with the iphone, but photos that I have imported from other sources, such as wallpaper images. Every week or so I go through and delete hundreds of duplicates. It does this even when specify NOT to import duplicates. Is there any way to stop this behavior?
    Thanks!

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and delete it ("your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist) launch iPhoto and reset any user preferences you have changed and if you have moved the location of the iPhoto library repoint to it

  • Missing info tab in itunes 11.1.2  when iphone syncs

    Hello!
After installing on my mac os x mavericks and updating itunes to 11.1.2, when i plugged in my iphone , the info tab is no longer exists. So i cant sync my contacts and mail accounts from iphone to macbook! Please help!
    thanks!

    Hello Wendy,
Apparently, the OS X Mavericks upgrade has eliminated the ability to sync or replace via USB cable calendar and contact data on iPhones and iPads.  It would appear that Apple is mandating the use of iCloud even though many of us prefer or need the USB cable option.  This article from Apple might be of interest.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12117
It would seem that rather a lot of us are disappointed with Apple over this issue.  For some of us, myself included, the nature of our calendar and contact data prohibits the use of iCloud or any other cloud service.  And then there are the issues of privacy, personal choice, and loss of convenienice.
My best advice is that we continue to let Apple know that we are not happy with what appears to be an attempt to force our data into their iCloud while eliminating our choices for syncing.  Personally, I have already advised my colleagues on campus to avoid the Mavericks and iTunes updates.  And I am looking forward to reading the tech blogs as word of the sync changes and restrictions gets around.

  • ITunes 64 bit  crashes during iphone sync  on windows 7

This was working fine a couple days ago - my guess is that one of the zillion MS patches killed it.  Now what?  I have uninstalled, re-installed, done all the Compatability checks, etc.  Tried installing the 32 bit version but the installer won't let me do that -- still crashes right at the start of music sync.  I'm afraid to turn off music sync for fear that all the music will be erased from the phone (assuming no crash).  Now what?

Well I guess this one is too hard for this group so I had to figure it out myself:  Here's the deal - there is a conflict between iTunes's crappy software and some other crappy software or service that was running on my XP system and is still running now that I have moved to W7.  See this article for the fix: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292  I simply turned everything off except iTunes stuff, re-booted and sync worked fine.  Put everything back where it was, re-booted and sync still works fine (mostly because the tunes it was failing on were already sync'd so . . .).
    There you have it.

  • How to share iTunes library: two users, two iPhones, one iTunes library

My wife and I just purchased new iPhones. I would like to be able to sync music from the library on my account to her iPhone, which syncs to her account. Please advise.

You can sync multiple iPods and/or iPhones with a single iTunes library on a computer.
If your wife has her own computer login account on your Mac where she stores her account information and calendar events which is synced with the iPhone, she can sync everything but iTunes content via your iPhone sync preferences under her login account, and sync iTunes content only via her iPhone sync preferences with iTunes under your login account.
You can disable automatic syncing when the iPhone is connected - there is a preference setting for each iPhone under the Summary tab for the iPhone sync preferences, and iTunes includes a global setting to not automatically sync when an iPod or iPhone is connected.
Your wife can create an iTunes Playlist with your iTunes library and place the music she wants available on her iPhone in this Playlist. Select sync selected Playlists and then select this Playlist only to be transferred to her iPhone. She can select which video, podcasts, etc. via her iPhone sync preferences.
You can do the same with your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
If you want to share the same iTunes library with multiple computer login accounts, you can transfer your iTunes library to an external drive which iTunes under each login account will be associated with.

  • HT201302 Why can't iTunes synchronize photos from my iPhone camera roll to iPhotos on my Mac?

I was really surprised about iTunes. It has option 'iPhone -> Photos -> Sync with iPhoto'. iTunes is so cool and can sync data through WI-FI so I am happy I don't need to plug-in iPhone to Mac with cable.
But this option works only one way. So I can sync images from iPhoto to my iPhone, but can not do it other direction.
I know I can do it with cable and iPhoto but it's stupid: use iTunes to copy data from Mac to iPhone and iPhoto to copy photos from iPhone to Mac. Furthermore iTunes is integrated with iPhoto and iTunes can talk to my iPhone without cable and internet just using WI-FI network.
I know I can copy my photos using iCloud and My Photo Stream, but it's so complicated, it uses my traffic, it stores my personal data on external servers. I don't like it.
I would be very happy if you can implement this feature. So I can go home and be sure my photos is already on my Mac cause I am using the same WI-FI network and it was copied by iTunes automatically.
    Kind Regards,

  • IPhone sync on iTunes 9 and iTunes 10

I sync my iPhone on different computers for different data
    FOR Music, Software Updates, Apps
I use Mac Mini w/10.5.X running latest iTunes 10
    Works fine.
FOR Data, Address book and Photos
I use MacBook Pro w/10.4.x running latest iTunes 9
now iTunes does NOT recognize my iPhone when I plug it in. But, iPhoto still recognizes the iPhone.
Is this because I have different versions of ITunes?

I do understand that the latest OS requires the latest iTunes but I have been able to sync my iPhone on both OS 10.4 and 10.5 with the respective iTunes installed on them. However, just recently, the iTunes 9.2.x on my OS 10.4.11 no longer recognizes the iPhone device.
If someone can help answer my original question ... is the iPhone not being recognizing on one computer but is recognized in another due to the differing versions of iTunes?

  • HT4236 I cannot see the photos from my last iphon sync in my iPhoto library on my mac. Help?

After my last sync with itunes on my computer, iPhoto is not showing the last couple months worth of photos from my iPhone camera role in my iPhoto Library. I tried closing iPhoto and restarting the computer and they are still not showing up. Any help?

Photos taken with the iphone are not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing them to your comptuer regularly as you would with any digital camera.
Open iphoto, connect iphone, import photo

  • I just reformatted my laptop (it's like new now). When I plug in my iPod/iPhone, in the Photos section, I don't have the option of choosing iPhoto to sync albums to my devices. What do I do?

I just reformatted my laptop (it's like new now). When I plug in my iPod/iPhone, in the Photos section, I don't have the option of choosing iPhoto to sync albums to my devices. What do I do so I iPhoto becomes an option in iTunes?

I didn't have iPhoto so I had to purchase it from the App store but that didn't help. I think the problem is because my devices still think they are synced to the previous version of my mac, but I don't know how to get them to sync with the new setup.

  • My iTunes now dies when attempting to sync my iPhone or iPad, suggestions?

I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync.  I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results.  So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.  It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.
    Suggestions are much appreciated

As it turns out, it is a problem with iPhoto '09.  You must upgrade to iPhoto '11 to resolve this issue.

  • Iphoto not syncing with itunes

I am having trouble syncing my photos and videos from Iphoto onto Itunes and then in turn onto my Iphone 5. Itunes does not sync all of the videos and photos, I only get some events from Iphoto onto my phone and no videos at all.
    What is the best solution?

iPhoto 9.1.5 not syncing albums to iPhone and iPad correctly, lots of missing photos.
Solution for me was find the iphoto library then control click on iphoto library and select 'show package contents'. Move folder named 'iPod photo cache' to the trash (just leave in trash till happy all is working).
Now try again to sync selected albums from iPhoto to iPhone or iPad using iTunes - you will need to reselect iphoto to sync from and reselect the required albums and then click sync. It takes longer than usual first time as a new 'iPod photo cach' folder is being built.
Once you are happy you can empty your trash.

  • I want to stop my iPhone syncing with iPhoto

I want to stop my iPhone syncing with iPhoto.
I find the business of syncing my low-res phone pics with my Mac pointless and time-consuming. I notice that even if you do sync-up - then, unplug phone from Mac and re-plug - it will ask do you want to sync up 22 pics - yes - Hey i can see these are all duplicates shall I not bother it says....
OR if you dont sync-up at the above - it means you always have to wait for iPhoto to open up and thats annoying too.
I have unchecked the 'sync with iphoto' option in itunes tabs. But this does not stop the phone from attempting the iphoto sync-up.
Why you no risson? I say..
Anyone else had this problem greatful for any fix. Thanks.

The selection under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences is for transferring photos from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
When your iPhone includes photos that were captured by your iPhone (stored in your iPhone's Camera Roll), or any photos saved from an email or from a website on your iPhone which are also stored in your iPhone's Camera Roll, you iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. If you want to import these photos to your computer, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture application.
To prevent iPhoto from launching automatically when you iPhone includes photos in the Camera Roll when your iPhone is connected, depending on the iPhoto version you are using, this is done with iPhoto preferences. If your iPhoto version doesn't include this preference setting, you can accompish the same with the Image Capture application - Image Capture preferences. At automatically open with, select No Application.

  • IPhone syncs Voice Memos after unchecking sync box in iTunes

I do not want to sync my voice memos from my iphone to itunes so i have unchecked the sync voice memos option and they still continue to sync over and itunes creates a playlist for voice memos. I have tried this numerous times and even after a restore it still happens? Anyone have any ideas?

It will happen automatically. iTunes always syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. All you can do is delete them or ignore them.
Keep in mind that if you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
The "Include voice memos" button in the iTunes Music pane for your phone is only for syncing your voice memos playlist back to the phone.
