Itunes 7.7 not recognizing iphone

Hi everybody, it seems a common problem today, after upgrading.
I've downloaded the 7.7, and when I tried to install, it was saying, that there was another installing process at the time, which was not true, after clicking few times, it worked. Then, I connect the iphone, and it said something like, that I needed to uninstall the apple mobile device support or service thing. Well, in Control Panel, I uninstalled itunes and apple mobile device, then, re-installed itunes, but now, nothing, after connecting the iphone, no message, no signal or the iphone. The apple mobile device is not showing in the processes, or programs installed in control panel, so, this mobile device is missing from this version of itunes, or my pc is the issue ?
Probably, we're gonna have to wait for a 7.7.1.
Thanks in advance

I uninstalled itunes and apple mobile device, then, re-installed itunes, but now, nothing, after connecting the iphone, no message, no signal or the iphone. The apple mobile device is not showing in the processes, or programs installed in control panel
Francisco, let's try to see if we can get an installer log to Apple for that one to try to determine what's preventing AMDS from installing.
First, uninstall iTunes again. Then download and save a copy of the iTunes installer (iTunesSetup.exe) to your desktop. (Don't run the install just yet.)
Now:
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to the following email address: [email protected]
In the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
- A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
- The username you are using in the thread
- The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
- the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
- A concise description of the issue you are seeing
- The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • Can't synch iPhone - iTunes 7.7 not recognizing iPhone docking

[i will move this question to iPhone section sorry]
After updating to Leopard 10.5.4 and iTunes 7.7 and all other outstanding software updates except QT 7.5, when I dock my iPhone to synch it, iTunes does not start up. If I start iTunes and then dock the iPhone, then it still does not recognize it. At the moment it appears I can't synch my iPhone.
    Any suggestions? thanks

once i got QT 7.5 installed then the iphone docked ok. go figure - dont know why that makes a difference for itunes recognizing the iphone dock. dont recall if there was a restart. my bad for not updating this thread after my QT75 download issue was "solved".

  • ITunes 8.2 not recognizing iPhone 3G

I have an Intel iMac and since the upgrade, iTunes is not recognizing my iPhone anymore. iPhoto does not open on its own anymore either. I have checked preferences etc., but cannot find how to correct this. I have also done a soft and hard reset on the iPhone.
    Thanks

    I'm having the same problem.
I saw that there was a new version of software available for my iPhone yesterday and decided to download it.
First I had to upgrade iTunes. I followed all the instructions but when the system restart occured, there was a glitch of some sort and it took a while for the installer to figure it out and fix it.
After *successfully validating the install*, it would not recognize my iPhone - which was connected to it moments before the install started. It repeatedly had me disconnect it and then reconnect it trying to see who's phone it was. Finally I rebooted again and it recognized the phone and downloaded and installed the new 3.0 operating system and then it re-sync'd the phone.
Everything was working fine at this point.
I eject the iPhone from the menu and later go to reconnect it to add some playlists I had made.
Again it does not recognize the iPhone - it knows one is there but can't figure out whose it is! Rebooting, disconnecting ect... doesnt help.
There is nothing in the Help Manual to steer me in the right direction.
    Anyone have any ideas?

iPhone not appearing in iTunes 12 on iMac and MacBook Pro as well
iPhone can charge with no problem.
Try different cables and same problem nothing changed.
    I had tried;
    Reset and Restart iPhone.
    Cleaned the charging input.
    Tried in 3 different computers.
I can't perform the method like uninstall/reinstall the USB driver on my Windows because in my Windows the USB showed unrecognized instead of "Apple USB/iPhone USB" on Device Manager.

  • ITunes not recognizing iPhone 5 iO7 on Windows 7

I have exhausted myself dealing with this problem. My iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 5. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and my computer recognizes the phone when i plug it in, however, my iTunes does not so I am not able to sync any music. I have tried practically everything I have found on the internet to fix this problem and even the people at the Apple store could not help me with my problem. I have uninstalled and installed all Apple related programs, I have insured that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is working correctly but nothing seems to fix the problem. I just don't know what to do anymore because nothing seems to work. I have followed the suggestions contained in the following discussions but nothing seems to work. Thank you for your help.

    Had this problem this morning.
Once in the past had to erase my iphone and reload it.That was unpleasant.
    This morning had the problem,too.
Plugged in my iphone directly into the Imac (not hub) then clicked shut down on the imac.
Pressed the button in the back while the iphone was still plugged in-and when rebooted iphone was visable in itunes.
    Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I'm using a MacBook Air and I just tried this with my laptop - shutting down the computer all the say (not restarting it) and then booting it back up with the phone plugged in. It didn't work but it was worth a shot! Thank you!

I had this exact same problem and just figured out how to fix it. I had to reload the driver on the iphone5 in order for itunes to recognize the device. Follow the steps here to see if you might need to do the same thing. Once I reinstalled the driver, everything works fine and I'm now able to sync with itunes again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have seen a TON of posts like mine where this is the solution. Unfortunately, I am on a Mac not Windows so the driver isn't the problem.

  • My PC not recognizing iPhone

My Pc not recognizing iPhone. I tryed a lot of ways but nothing help.

If its anything like what my pc does from time to time... Is that when I plug in , Itunes "locks" up for a period of time followed by it finally "letting go" and then not seeing my iphone.  Granted, I use an Iphone 4 but none the less I'm assuming this is the issue you are having.
What I do (cant take credit for this, learned from another user on these boards) is hold your home button and power button at the same time.  Let the iphone turn off and then turn it back on.  Plug it back in , and it should be seen.  If that does not work (does not always for me) try it when the usb cable plugged in.   One or the other usually does the trick for me.
    Good luck!

Windows suddenly not recognizing iPhone, yet recognizes another iPhone fine (sees in iTunes, etc.) USB appears to be fine - passes electrical to iPhone until operating system (XP) boots, and then "disconnects". I've gone through all of Apples suggestions for troubleshooting - including msconfig. Same result - quick double "bong" tone and no connectivity to iTunes. Versions are all up-to-date.
