ITunes 7 and 4 speakers

Hello there. I have 4 Altec Lansing speakers hooked up to my computer with a suboofer. Does iTunes support quadraphonic sound output? I can only get my songs to play through 2 speakers. I would ike all my songs to output to all 4 speakers, but I can't figure out how to make iTunes do it. Thanks. This is on a PC btw, not my Mac.

Hi,
At you question : Lynksys 160-wr ore something....
This is something above my capabilities.
The way that tab is configured is AUTOMATIC.
Trying to do it manually require IP for rouer, and I dont't know how to get it, even if I perfectly know what an IP address is.
It is also required to enter IPV6 address, and there to I am lost.
Lastly there is the last tab, amaller bar that I don't know.
May be explain in what way, having this manually entered is different that automatic would make me understand correctly. Then, may be indicate how to get these info to fill in.
But, I can say that I am now using APPLE TV-2, and that the first Lion 10.7 patch seems to have solved this.

• Itunes 7 and 7.1 speakers

I recently upgraded to itunes 7 and now my itunes playback don't work correctly with my 7.1 creative speakers..playback only comes through the front speakers..the speakers are working because with all other programs (real player, windows media) the songs playback through all the speakers. Anybody with any idea how to help?

I found an old thread dating back a few years, gave it a try, and it worked! Here it is...

Hi B:
Jason of Creative Labs told me to turn on the CMSS feature in the "EAX Console." It worked!
Here's the URL --
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&mess age.id=2563
Additionally I had to click "Bass Redirection" in "Creative Speaker Settings, Bass Management" in order to get output from the SubWoofer.
Hope this helps anyone else who has similar problems.

• I can't hear iTunes music or internet radio but internal and external speakers are definitely working. Is there a key stroke I have set or some other, maybe Yosemite, issue?

I have checked my internal speakers on an iMac and also the external speakers - all working. When play music in iTunes the sound bar moves but no sound is heard. Same problem if I want to listen to the radio via internet. Has anyone a suggestion. Is it a Yosemite issue - I have had others involving printers. thanks

like davis says then even though I have connected headset and external speakers to my imac then at boot up the boot sound comes out of the imac speaker
but once booted into OS X all audio is played out of the headset and ext speakers and the imac speakers are silent as the grave

Hi Novagurl2369!
I have an article for you that can provide some helpful troubleshooting steps to address your issue:
No sound through stereo headset1
Inspect the headset jack for debris and clean if necessary.
Connect the headset and make sure the connector is pushed in all the way.
Check the volume setting. Adjust the volume by pressing the volume up and down button on the left side of the iPhone.
If you are trying to listen to music and cannot hear any audio, make sure that the music on iPhone is not paused. Try squeezing the headset microphone to resume playback. Additionally, from the Home screen you can choose iPod > Now Playing, then tap Play.
Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on the computer that you are syncing the iPhone with (songs purchased from the iTunes Store using earlier versions of iTunes won't play).
Try another Apple headset (some third-party headsets require an adapter to be used with original iPhone).
Try a different song or video.
Check to see if the iPhone alert sounds or other iPhone sound effects exhibit the same audio issues.
Disconnect the headset from the iPhone and see if sound comes from the built-in speaker.

• ITunes show Airport Express Speakers but will not allow me to choose them

Hi, I just installed and updated my 802.11g airport express. When I open iTunes (version 9- just updated today), I am able to see the speaker selector option on the bottom right of the screen. When I open it, the choice for my laptop speakers and airport speakers both appear; however, only the laptop speakers can be chosen. I am unable to choose the airport speakers at all. I have downloaded all of the latest firmware/software I can think of for both iTunes and the airport express. Please help!!!

After months of having this problem (and a few unsuccessful hours at the Genius Bar), I finally found a fix.
In AirPort Utility, I updated the firmware.
I redid a bunch of other settings, too. Updated to latest iTunes (9), reset my preferences in Security (via Control Panel) and reset the remote speaker option through iTunes (preferences, advanced). But, it was the firmware update that finally got it to work. Sorry I can't be more specific - I'm not a computer buff. Good luck!
Dang, I hate updates.

• Can I use my monitor and external speakers with apple tv

I have an extra computer monitor (DVI input) and external speakers (3.5mm male audio jack.) Is there some combination of adapters that I can use to hook up an apple tv to them in order to stream from netflix, and my itunes library?

no but you can get tons of solutions where you connect something to your tv's minijack headset connector and then it wireless transfer the audio signal to a headset
there are both bluetooth solutions belkin have one I use and there are also solutions where the headset is included and they use their own custom protocol
but mind you there is no way to keep such setups in sync in terms of video and audio so if the system is poor in quality or pre-process the audio signal too much it cause audio and visuals to get out of sync

• Apple TV and multiple speakers on Airport express

Hi,
I'm using Apple TV3 and 10.8.3 Mac with Itunes 11 and would like the flim audio to play on multiple (3) airport express' with speakers attached around the room all on same Wifi.
Is this possible?
Thanks

As my english isn't too good I made a screenshot to show you what I mean.
As you can see in the image below iTunes only shows me the computer speakers and the AirPort Express. But at the bottom you can see that iTunes actually recognized 3 different speaker (Mac, AirPort, Apple TV 2). Why does the Apple TV not show up in the multiple speakers window? Any ideas?

• Can I use bluetooth speakers and wired speakers together

Can I use bluetooth speakers and wired speakers together?

You should be able to listen to your music in iTunes through the Bluetooth speakers. If, after buying the speakers, you can't select them in iTunes, just go to System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the Bluetooth speakers

• How to use bluetooth ipod dock and external speakers together

Hi
Is there anyway to make my speakers, conected to the headphone socket at the rear of my iMac, and a bluetooth Ipod dock play together.
I've bought a Bose dock with bluetooth thinking I could then have the radio or songs playing in two different rooms but I can't seem to find out how to make the computer play through the speakers and the bluetooth, I have to pick one or the other.
It's on OSX 10.6.7
Thanks for any help as this has really disappointed me

David, here's my interpretation of what you just posted:
iPod nano Dock enables quick connectivity if you have a desktop computer without an easily accessible USB 2.0 port. No more reaching behind the computer to plug it in — just place iPod nano in the dock and it’s ready to sync with iTunes and charge its battery. <<

This means that the dock connection connects to the internal battery and allows you to transfer data (sync w/ iTunes).
And you can plug a stereo mini cable to its line-out port and enjoy a clean, direct connection to a stereo or powered speakers<<

This means you can plug a stereo mini cable into the same port you use to plug in your headphones. The other end would go into your stereo or powered speakers. Which means no dock connection with line out audio!
I would not be able to use the nano with my Altec Lansing speakers or my Sik Imp (which is how I listen to my iPod mini in my Honda Element). So no nano for me!
Apple's marketing strategy is all too clear to me now. They didn't discontinue the mini, their best selling iPod, because that's what everyone is trying to copy. They discontinued it because they felt sales of the mini were cannibalizing sales of hte regular iPod. If you wanted something more compact than the iPod but wanted dock connectivity to all the various accessories, you bought a mini. Now you buy the nano for compactness AND the regular iPod to use with the accessories. So where one product satisfied two needs for the average user (not the afficianados that have iPod collections) Apple will now happily sell you two products.
To all those people who asked what the mini has that the nano doesn't, this looks like it: line out audio through the dock connection. A very important feature!

• Videos on ITunes play in two speakers instead of 5.1 surround

Hi,
Strange problem. My ITunes music plays just fine in 5.1 surround sound but the videos I purchased from Apple play in stereo (Left and right speakers)in the same Itunes. I have the last version of ITunes and Quictime.
Any ideas what happen? Thanks
TheBell

The three video's I tried at http://www.ted.com/ worked for me in Firefox 5.0, and used the Flash Player.
Do you have the Flash Player installed '''for Firefox'''? IE uses a different version of Flash - ActiveX than Firefox uses - Plugin, so on Windows PC's you need both versions installed and they appear in the Windows Control Panel as separate versions Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin. Which ever browser you use to download Flash, Adobe will the supply the version for that browser.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version].
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
I've been getting 5.1 output from all stereo songs (like 99.99% of mp3s are) from <7.0 and from every other non Apple App.
I've gone through and I've set the sound out to
"44.1khz" (also tried 48 with same other 2 settings)
"16bit"
"5.1"
No matter what I change in the sound out bit there, I still get exactly the same R and L speakers making the exact same stereo sounds...even after restarting Quicktime, and iTunes, and even playing the mp3 IN Quicktime.
As for distortion...I only get that when I'm running a game and iTunes...but there is a whole thread for that.
So if anyone else is having trouble simply getting Multispeaker output from iTunes, please, post here, or if anyone has a fix....it's MORE than Welcome.

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

• Listening to nano through ipod dock and external speakers

Hi,
Need some help here. I've just upgraded from my old 10gb iPod to a nano, and everything is fine until I try to listen to it through my external JBL creature speakers. I've plugged the nano into an ipod dock, which is connected to the speakers, and no sound is coming out. I plugged in my old ipod, and it worked fine. Any help?

• Watching movies on Itunes HP and Itunes Mac

if I purchased a movie from itunes store and then downloaded it to my HP will I still be able to download the movie to my MAC? If so how can I do this?
I use the HP as a desktop and my mac as my laptop.
thank you

I've tried and failed also with my MacBook - even though there's a tick in the multiple speakers setting. Shame really, as I'd like to pipe some of my movies into a home cinema room. I guess I could run a cable from the headphones outlet into the back of the AV amp but going via AirPort should be so much neater - if only it would work. Maybe Apple will deliver in next release of Leopard...

Look in Preferences-Advanced.
Allow iTunes control from remote speakers must be unchecked !!!
What does it mean and why is it there ????????

try trashing the itunes pref file:
user>library>preferences>com.apple.iTunes.plist
have you the latest airport express firmware:

have you hard reset the airport express to default settings:

then setup itunes pref to 'look for remote speakers..', save, quit itunes. join default airport express wireless network then restart itunes and see how it goes. if this doesn't work, im out of ideas! mayb after doing this try the ipv6 toggle again and mayb you'll get lucky!
