ITunes 7 and Mcbook Pro Doesn't Show right iPod Version
I have a weird issue with iTunes 7.0.2 running on my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.4.8). I received a new 30 GB iPod recently, and when I plugged it in, I couldn't register. The wizard wasn't displaying the serial number. Ok, no problem. Registered it on an iMac with iTunes 6.
Well, everything works fine on the kids' iMac with iTunes 6 but on my MacBook, the ipod STILL won't show the serial number or software version (it is up to date!), nor does it show the TV Shows and Movies tab, nor will it let me sync ANY purchased content. It says my software is too old.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I am at a loss with this! Anyone out there have any ideas? I have a good bit of money in purchased music I can't listen to!

that sounds like the ipoddriver.kext has gone funky on the MacBook. see:

Thanks!The sync is 2 way. If you created items in the calendar on the phone, however, BEFORE you set up the sync relationship, those items are stored in the calendar on the phone only.
Go into the calendar and tap the "Calendars" button in the upper left. You will see lists of all the calendars. On my iPhone are those that live exclusively on the phone. You will also see From My Mac (or something similar) as well as any that are synced with Exchange accounts, iCloud, etc.
Now go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Scroll down to Calendars and make sure the Default Calendar is set to the correct calendar. I don't believe there is any easy way to move all your entries from the local calendar to the one that syncs with iCal, but you can go into each entry and specify which calendar it belongs to. -
When I rip a cd in itunes, then go to use another program, then come back to itunes, the cd stops ripping and the cd doesn't show up in the side bar anymore. What's going on here? I am running the x64 version of itunes in Windows 7.

I have problem when I updated iOS7 yesterday. At first, there was a message popped out in my Iphone 4 said "iOS7 available for u to update, then i clicked "update", then it said "wait while it verifying", after that my phone tuned blank and what i saw was only the "logo of apple". Until now i see only that Apple logo, i can't either switch my phone on or off.

Any solution?You need to restart the phone in DFU mode and update the software.
To restart the phone in DFU mode press the power and home button simultaneously for like 10 seconds once the phone is switched off release the power button keep holding the home button while you connect to the computer which has Itunes running and then you can restore or update the software, you can download the update and connect after the software has been downloaded if your phone disconnects, And enjoy you new IOS7. -
Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac. I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network. While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline? Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone. -

I am trying to change the location of my itunes library and the library doesn't copy to the new location. I followed the steps in the help message (HT1364) exactly but I am not prompted to consolidate in the new location. Any suggestions?
Hi ed2345 and diesel vdub, when I consolidate, the files start copying to the new location and part way through I get a message that the copying failed (-50) even though all of the files are already in place in the new location. Should I just delete the itunes in the new location and manually copy the files again? But in itunes, I have indicated that the new location is on the external hard drive but itunes seems to ignore that and still looks for itunes in the original location on my internal hard drive. I disabled the location of itunes in the old location (by labelling itunes as "itunes old") and it tried to create a new itunes at the old location and prompted me to import music and videos from a CD or other source. I hope I am making sense.

I'm downloading my dvd:s to iTunes but some of them doesn't show in finder, I can view them in the dvd-player but I can't access them in Handbrake. Why?

Were they previously downloaded/synced to your iPhone, and if they were have you got them in the TV Shows and Movies parts of your computer's iTunes library. When you update via a computer the device is backed up, the iOS version is updated, and your content is then restored to the device - but none of your iTunes downloads are included in the actual backup (just your documents, notes, calendars, app settings etc), instead it looks to get the apps, music, films, TV shows from your iTunes library.
If the 'show all' setting isn't showing them then what country are you are in, you are logged in with the same account that you bought them with, you haven't changed countries since buying them and they aren't hidden : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases ? -
I changed my username and now afp doesn't show any users. I have file sharing on. And also when I select "get more info" on the shared folders they don't have my username in there. it just has "applepc(me)" my old username before changing it showed the correct username? please any help would be great.
Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from. There's a link named "Latest" representing the most recent snapshot. Use that one, if possible. Otherwise, you'll have to remember the date of the snapshot you choose.
Inside the snapshot folder is a folder hierarchy like the one on the source disk. Find one of the items you can't restore and select it. Open the Info dialog for the selected item. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you may see an entry in the access list that shows "Fetching…" in the Name column. If so, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate. Then delete the "Fetching…" item from the icon list. Click the gear icon below the list and select Apply to enclosed items from the popup menu.
Now you should be able either to copy the item in the Finder or to restore it in the time-travel view. If you use the time-travel view, be sure to select the snapshot you just modified. If successful, repeat the operation with the other items you were unable to restore. You can select multiple items in the Finder and open a single Info dialog for all of them by pressing the key combination option-command-I.
When you're done, turn TM back ON and close its preference pane. -

Mac 10.6.8You can add CS5 as an "Additional External Editor" on the External Editing Tab of the Preferences panel. See this screenshot, I have Photoshop CS5 as my prime editor, and have added CS3 as an additional external editor:
Then when you use "Edit In...." you'll see both options available.. -
My ipod when i cut it on shows the ITunes icon and the usb plug icon on my ipod screen. so I plugged it into my computer and when it took me to the Itunes menu it says I needed to reinstall the proram to the manufactures settings and upgrade. My Ipod appears to be whiped clean. I does nothing now. It didnt reinstall or upgrade at all. I have 2 Ipods and I think things got crossed up with them.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
