The first time i downloaded 7.0 i got all the way to the end and it worked but i could never open it so i just deleted itunes completley and so now i download it and it says..."this is already a file do you want to replace it?" I hit yes...than this box pops up and it says..."The feauture that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK, or Try Again, or enter an alternate path to the folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi'in the box below." So ya, Ive tried hitting ok, and try again and trying to locate iTunes.msi and i cant. HELP WOULD BE GREATLEY APPRECIATED!

Go here and start with the section "Get the latest Windows updates" (Make sure you do that) and then follow ALL steps for removing iTUnes AND quicktim, especailly "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" (DO NOT FOLLOW STEPS FOR REINSTALLING YET) http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Now disable your antivirus program AND set it to allow script to run.
While its disabled, goto apple.com and download/install itunes

After searching around, I decided to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall starting at iTunes 9.
I also ran Windows update and everything is up to par.
I still recieve the same error, please help!

I need help figuring out why my ATV is not displaying my iphotos at full screen on my panasonic 50 plasma..ANY help would be really appreciated...I have two nights until the party which will be a house full of geeks :))))))

What do you mean by not at full screen.
If it is that there are black areas each side of a portrait photo, this is to be expected. Zooming into such a picture to fill a widescreen format would likely cut off too much of a photo to be acceptable.

ITunes and iPod, serious help needed

First of all I'm running OS X Tiger 10.4
I just got my 5th gen. iPod video today, and I sync'd it and everything, the iPod works just fine.
Although, everytime I plug it in, my iPod will be listed on the source list in the left of iTunes, it will take a few seconds to update, then my iPod icon will disappear from the Finder.
If I then click anywhere besides "My iPod" in the iTunes source bar, like Library > Music or just a simple playlist, iTunes will unexpectedly quit. The Finder though does not give me a message saying that iTunes quit unexpectedly, it just happens. During all of this the iPod does NOT say "do not disconnect" as if it was updating.
Help is greatly appreciated.

I am not really sure as I have been playing it safe, sticking with OS 10.3.9 and iTunes version 6. Everything works, so I don't want to break it.

Serious Touch/ iTunes issues. URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi-
Ok, make a long story short, I purchased a HD from a 3rd party store, it crashed, and apple won't cover it. So, I put my original HD back in my iBook. It works fine, but does not have any of my music/videos/data on it.
As for my problem, my computer will not read my iPod touch, possibly because it is only linked with my original HD. Nothing happens when I plug it in (note this only happens with the current HD).
How can I get it to read it?? I've tried restarting it.

Your ipod is linked to iTunes but not to a specific HD.
When plugged into any computer it should show up in iTunes.
I am wondering if maybe there is a problem with the usb port.
Have you tried plugging maybe a usb mouse into the port to make sure it is working?
Or open System Profiler to see if your ports are listed.
Don't quote me on this but if the computer is not seeing these ports I believe resetting
Pram can fix this if it is not physically damaged.

1st iTunes purchase--BIG disappointment! Need advice.

OK, we missed the 2nd part of a TV show thanks to a recording glitch. So, we figured, no sweat, it'd be worth $2 getting it from iTunes. Signed up, found the show, downloaded it (that went quickly). First purchase from iTunes; probably last given what we discovered!
Two problems:
1) The volume is infuriatingly low, even after making all the "hidden" adjustments! I know about the Command-I, options business, slide the volume adjustment control to 100%. Also tried turning on Equalizer pre-amp to top setting and raising all the sliders. Hit hard key for sound, moved that to the top, too.
The sound is so soft that we couldn't hear it while eating dinner-- chewing is louder than the playback on our iBook.
This makes little or no sense as the podcasts, etc. that we have in iTunes can play at ridiculously loud, even distorted volumes.
We're going to have to watch this in a quiet room, huddled around the iBook. Any suggestions (other than buying external speakers)? Is this low volume a problem with ALL TV shows downloaded from iTunes? If that's the case, count me as a 1 time iTunes customer.
2) The video playback is not particularly smooth, but jumps a bit from time to time. We can live with that, but for buying a show, it's still pretty ridiculous!
Any thoughts? Was there some option while buying to solve these problems?

Mike, thanks for responding! Wasn't sure what you meant by limitations of the hardware... regular old podcasts work fine, really LOUD if we want them to be... but the downloaded TV show was soft even with maximum settings!
My wife doesn't like earphones, so that's out. I think huddling around the iBook may be our only recourse.
I'm just curious, though, whether all TV shows (and all music for that matter) downloaded from iTunes is so restricted in volume. If so, that's really bad!

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

After installing iTunes I receive the message:

IdL big time help needed

I have a program and I would like 2 split it into a client-server system using IDL, I would appreciate any tips given (I�m very new to IDL). At the moment it takes input from the user, in the form of a user name and password, and check against a database. I would like to have the input on the client and the check of the database on the server, with eather an accept or refuse message sent back to the user.

You might want to take a look at the examples in
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/guide/idl/index.html
and adapt one of the IDL interfaces to your needs.
Something like

Big Time Help Needed - reinstall

as mentioned in another thread, my XP Pro stopped recognizing my USB (Apple) keyboard and mouse, even in Safe Mode. i decided to bite the bullet and reinstall. used bootcamp asst. to remove the windows partition and then create a new one. went ahead with the install.
set up loads files then gets to the point where it says "setup is starting windows." and there it stalls. i left it like this for 15 minutes...twice.
there is nothing in the windows partition.
what is going on? besides nothing.

i deviated not. how can one deviate? i used bootcamp asst. to create a partition and then start the installation. it did not get far enough for me to deviate. completely hands off.
i finally capitulated and gave msft more $, bought windows 7 and that install has gone successfully.

help needed with itunes please tryed to move my itunes libary to my external hard drive itunes move ok and runs fin but i have none of my music or apps or anything all my stuff is in the itunes folder on my external hard drive but there is nothing on ituns how do i get it back help,please

(Make sure the Music (top left) library is selected before beginning this.)
If you have bad song links in your library, hilite them and hit the delete button. Then locate the folder(s) where your music is located and drag and drop into the large library window in iTunes ( where your tracks show up). This will force the tunes into iTunes. Before you start, check your preferences in iTunes specifically under the"Advanced" tab, general settings. I prefer that the 1st 2 boxes are unchecked. (Keep iTunes Music folder organized & Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library). They are designed to let iTunes manage your library. I prefer to manage it myself. Suit yourself. If there is a way for iTunes to restore broken links other than locating one song at a time I haven't found it yet. (I wish Apple would fix this, as I have used that feature in other apps.) This is the way I do it and I have approx. 25,000 songs and podcasts and videos at present. Hope this helps.
