ITunes 7 bug for Macs?

I own a power book and I just updated to iTunes7 and is constantly asking me to update my iPod as well. At the moment I can't do anything with my iPod because the moment I chose a category it quits iTunes.
My guess is that the new program is stubborn and really wants me to update my iPod was well. But after reading all of the bad reviews from the new update, I'm afraid that my iPod will be the next "victim".
Has anyone running OS X encounter this problem? Or is it only for the PC version? HELP!

I'm having bugs and so are many other people. If you take a look at the itunes category there are many threads with people reporting glitches or freezes between songs on their ipods.
My ipod has apparently been "corrupted" by the new iTunes and was fine before I had attached it to my machines with iTunes 7 installed. It said I should restore, but now every time I connect it says I should restore. Additionally when I just power it on, it either reboots continually or gives me the apple support URL.
It's one thing to have quirks in the software but another that my iPod itself is currently completely disabled. Unacceptable.

After upgrading to iTunes 12 on WinXP it did not connect to Gracenote.
I found this solution.
Solution:
Exit iTunes
Press the WinLogoKey+R
Type in %appdata% and press return
Double click on Apple Computer
Double click on iTunes
Take a back up of the file iTunesPrefs.xml as a precaution (copy to some safe area)
Delete the file iTunesPrefs.xml
Start iTunes again

Copy and paste album art in iTunes 12 for Mac

So I can copy and paste on my Windows version of iTunes 12. But I can't copy in paste album art from the web on iTunes for Yosemite. I have to save the image to my laptop and then click the add artwork button inside Get Info.
Anyone else have this annoying issue?
*edit* Tried moving this out of the iPhone section to iTunes for Mac but was unable to sorry.

With iTunes open , click command - i. Click on artwork in the open box and drag art into it, been doing all night...

Getting Nokia 5310 to work with iTunes 7 for Mac O...

Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd post this to help out. I had a lot of trouble getting the 5310 music library to recognize the track & album names from the mp3's I sent over to the phone.
To get the 5310 to recognize your iTunes tracks, you need to follow a few steps:
1. The files need to be in the right format. The 5310 doesn't recognize mp4 files from the Apple Music Store. How to get around this? Back up your purchases to a CD. Then reimport the CD as mp3's. Then you have a duplicate copy of your album, except in mp3 (MPEG-1) format.
2. The ID3 tags in the mp3's need to be adjusted. When you use iTunes to import tracks from the CD, it uses ID3 v2 tags for artist name, album name, etc. That's no good, because the 5310 only recognizes ID3 v1. You need to download an ID3 editor to change this, such as ID3 Editor for OS X. It'll let you change things in batches, i.e., for an entire album all at once, so this is not as onerous as it sounds. www.pa-software.com
3. Get the Nokia Multimedia Transfer utility for Mac. europe.nokia.com/A4423135
4. Allow the nokia util to make iTunes folder transfers (it'll ask).
5. Make playlists, and then dump them into the transfer folder you would have created at step 4 above.
6. Connect your phone by USB using the "PC Suite" setting and off you go.
I had everything pretty much figured out quickly except step 2 -- when the 5310 recognized no artist or album names except Radiohead In Rainbows, that was the clue that iTunes / Apple Music Store must be coding their files differently....

Moments after making the original post, my new ipod mysteriously started to sync and play video podcasts, and I don't know what I did to get it working!
Is there an FAQ or primer on downloading and watching video on iPod? It's clear that I don't understand the machine and how it works with iTunes...

Where do I download iTunes 8 for mac? Please!

I need to update my iTunes at home with the new iTunes 8, moreover I cannot find it here, the first and only option I see is for Windows users. How come is that? The first option should be the update and download for mac users! I want to download the update as stand alone.

i downloaded itunes for mac new version. well music downloaded fine,then this volume logic pops up & freezes the itunes. im going nuts cant get it to work. i'm new to mac. so i don't know what to do.

Volume Logic audio enhancement software has been discontinued and is probably no longer compatible with the latest iTunes. Delete the Volume Logic plug-in from your user account's Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug ins folder.

ITunes Radio for Mac not showing up in the program

I just updated iTunes on my Mac to 11.1 but the iTunes radio does not show up. It just shows the internet tab. Is there something wrong. I already installed the program again but it still does the same thing. The radio tab does not show up.. Please Help!

and make sure that the display icon (the eye icon on the left side of the Premiere Pro track timeline) is on.

ITunes access for Mac users outside of the USA

We are Mac users both for business and personal. We buy all Apple products and hardware and purchase photo books etc. We purchase all our equipment online and ship. Yet, I have no access to the iTunes free downloads nor am I able to purchase any songs because we do not have a US Billing Address for our Credit Cards! We have international cards and use it for everything else world-wide. Yet no itune!! I buy all Apple products using my card - yet no itunes! Not having access to even download the free songs is not fair, as I am being hindered from creating iMovies because I cannot upload a song. This is an application that comes with my Mac yet I am not able to use it. Come on, you have to help me out here! I need to make some iMovies and post! What can I do? Please help? Debra

Sorry, but there's nothing anyone here can do to help as far as the iTunes Store is concerned. Apple has not, for legal and/or business reasons, been able to open iTunes Stores in every country. If there's no iTunes Store in your country, you'll need to look to other sources of music.
I am being hindered from creating iMovies because I cannot upload a song.
You're not being hindered; iMovie doesn't need the iTunes Store to be completely functional. There are lots of sources for music, such as an imported CDs (you need legal permission to use any copyrighted music, of course, if you intend these movies for other than personal use). You don't need to be a able to purchase from the iTunes Store to have music for your movies.

ITUNES 10 for Mac crashes after any install

Has anyone had a problem with the latest v of iTUNES? I have downloaded the update now 3x, and after opening, each time it closes right after the open attempt. It basically crashes.
Thank God for Time Machine... As I've restored to a previous version of iTUNES 3 times.

I have the same issue. iTunes 10.2.2 crashes shortly after starting. I have an IMAC 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running Mac OS X 10.5.8. Have uninstalled and installed several times to no avail. I get this info in the report:

ITunes UI for mac becomes unresponsive out of no where.

The iTunes UI has been becoming unresponsive repeatedly. I'm not sure if its stability has something to do with my iTunes library being on a NAS (Seagate BlackArmor 2TB) or because the iTunes library is growing too large, or because iTunes developers don't know how to make a simple mp3 player.
On a side note: It would be nice if Apple made an iTunes that doesn't use 295 ports or 14 threads or store iPhone backups among thousands of tiny delta files in single directory. Maybe it should have been called iTunes X.1.0.

I have a similar issue. iTunes is just SLOW. I double click on a song, wait ten seconds, it plays. Click on a playlist... ten seconds... playlist selected. I see the color wheel way more than I think I should.
Is it because I have TOO MANY songs? I have 100,000+ songs. As a DJ I need all these songs and haven't been able to find a good competitor "Mp3 Player" for the Mac which will serve my needs.

How do I re-number and re-order tracks in album view in iTunes 11 for Mac?

When I manually transfered my iTunes library from an old PowerBook G4 to a used (but new to me) MacBook Pro, one of my albums has the same track numbers for multiple songs and so the songs are in the incorrect order.
I know I can create a playlist of the album and re-rorder the songs, which I've already done.

I found the answer in another thread. I have to use Get Info -> Info for each song and change its track number to the correct number.

I am trying to find a version of iTunes that will sync with iPhone4 and run on OS 10.4.11. The only download I found was iTumes 10.3.1 which will not install, stating that it needs OS 10.5. I have iTunes 8.2.1, but as I remember the iPhone wants at least iTUnes 9 to sync.

I was searching around for the itunes plugin that i keep reading about but can't find it. The XNJB software is really inconvenient because I use itunes to organize everything.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone knew where i could download it from because all of the links i;ve found are broken and i can't find it by googleing.

ITunes 11 for Mac "Update All Apps" grayed out, requiring relaunch to update again

On iTunes 11.2.1 (1) "Update All Apps" grays out after I update once. I need to relaunch iTunes to get it to be clickable again. I am definitely logged in, etc., so it seems like a bug with iTunes, yes?

The last several versions of iTunes have had this bug. The "Update All Apps" works once, and then it's greyed out after that until you quit and relaunch.
As a workaround, you can click the first app, hold down the shift key, and click the last app to select them all. Then right click on one of the apps and select "Update X Apps."
