Itunes 7 closes itself when I hook up my ipod. Now I can't restore it.
I just downloaded itunes 7 so that i could restore my ipod (the thing wont play songs, it just flips through all the tracks when i push play). Itunes will play all my music, but when i hook my ipod up to the computer, and then try to do anythin in itunes, it closes itself. I just want it to stay open! HELP!

Have you run Software Update to make sure you have the latest versions of the system software, Quicktime in particular?

my iPhone 5 randomly switched itself when somebody was calling me and now won't turn on. it had 90% battery, I've tried factory reset, connecting to iTunes and nothing works. the phone is approx 18 months old so surprise surprise out of warranty.
My 5S just started doing this on Thursday: every fraction of a second or so it oscillates between connecting and disconnecting with the charger (USB or wall, doesn't matter). Since it's still under the limited warrantee, I took it to the local Mac dealer (I live in a small town w/out an Apple store) and they shipped it off. You were right to be suspicious of the Apple store employees. Once they replicated the behavior that you experienced, they should have immediatly offered to exchange your phone. Anything else, in my opinion, is unacceptable. As long as your phone is still doing it, I'd go back, ask for the manager and tell them to exchange your phone. -

iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchsed from the iTunes Store).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library. (Going forward, you should use a backup strategy, and include your iTunes data in what gets backed up. Then, you would be able to recover your complete iTunes library, including things like playlists and ratings.) -
when i hooked up my ipod to my computer and opened itunes it wouldnt connect to it. therefore i cant add music. why wont it show up, or sync? i just got the itunes update also so i dont know how to add music to my ipod if it changed.

Itunes does not open when I plug in my ipod

A window opens with the name of my ipod kiwi(E:) & a picture of a disk drive next to it.
I have to manually open itunes. No error messages pops up, so I can't figure out what's preventing the system from recognizing my ipod. In the system tray in an icon safely remove hardware if I it click my ipod ejects. My ipod still charges as normal.
Open itunes when this ipod is attached is checked off
Enable disk use is checked off
I ran a scan no malware
Windows XPSo you connect the iPod containing a hard drive. I would guess you are using USB, right? Then Windows opens a window (wow, that's repetative) that identifies this as a USB hard drive.
Am I close?
It sounds like you've told the iPod to act in Disk Mode. On the same preferences pane that you are telling iTunes to open, uncheck the box for enable disk mode. the mini should stop telling your computer it is a hard drive. -
My iphone 4 is telling me I have to restore but when I plug in and connect to itunes, it freezes about 30-50 % through the process. Now I can't use my phone at all? I am waiting about 1-3 hours for this process to finish and nothing ever happens. HELP!!
Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)

I have tried for the last several days to upgrade my ipod touch generation 2, from os 2.2.1 to 4.2 and I keep getting an unknown error (-1)
I have hit restore to original several times and nothing works and the error keeps coming up. I have unplugged all USB products (which is only my mouse) while trying the upgrade and again, nothing works to upgrade the operating system.
I want to install Apps to this ipod and can not without getting the current os system 4.2

This is very frustrating as you can all imagine. And from all the websearching I have done, no one else has had this error. Would my canon software have any conflict with the upgrading of this ipod? I have not uninstalled the canon software but would if it would fix the problem. I used to get "no camera attached" when I hooked up the ipod to the machine, and have that now fixed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just bought a new Iphone and when I connected it to itunes and I downloaded the backup from my last device, now I can't pass this step and every time I connect it to itunes is the same thing. And I can't download any app because problems with my account regarding the credit card but the information is correct and it says it is not!!!
You'll have to contact iTunes store support regarding your credit card information problem: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. I'm not clear on what you're saying about your backup. Are you saying that when you connect to iTunes it's asking you to restore from backup even though you already have?

I have just updated to itunes 11 and when I plugged in my ipod classic it locked up. When I tried again it said my ipod was corrupt and advised I reset it. I reluctantly did this as I lost all my music and now itunes just locks up when I plug in my ipod.
Not if you first do a sync and have iTunes make a backup. However, if your only copy of the iTunes data is in the Touch, then you need to first copy the data to a new iTunes Library using third-party software such as Phone To Mac.

Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.
Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
