Itunes 7 for Windows won't start....no matter what

Question

Itunes 7.115 will install, but will not start. Shows no sign of trying to start up in Task Manager.It evokes a Windows general error with the following error signature in details:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.1.1.5 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2945 Offset: 0004bef7
This also happens when any earlier version of Itunes is installed.
This is a Dell E1705 Inspiron Laptop with Win XP Pro SP2 with current upgrades, Intel Core Duo 2Ghz processor, 2GB Ram, Nvidea GO 7800 GTX 256mb.
Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, the Quicktime solo installation, and disabling Trend Micro Internet Security 2007. Windows installaton is clean and functioning properly, with no other problems. Recent virus scan and spyware scans clean. Also tried using MSconfig to disable all other startup programs.
Quicktime exhibits unusual behavior in that Quicktime Options will appear when clicked on, but when any other options tab are clicked, options will abruptly close.
Ipod is useless Not Good!

U have a problem in memory management,

(The Kernel32.dll file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file in Windows 95,98,Me. The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space.)
in short, itunes is not allowed to install or "operate" within the set parameters, Windows "belives" it to be trying to "overwrite" windows kernel os files,
Solve: Try to Create a new folder and designate Itunes to Install and operate from the newly created folder in c/programs. also since u have a problem with q-time i recomend removing it and re-installing it. use a clean up program before re-installing Itunes, ( ex CCleaner free and a wery good clean up program), if or when you try to start itunes again see if the exe programes are initiated:
iPodService.exe
iTunes.exe
if they are not or it is still "incompatible" with kernel, I belive you have to look at your Audio setings as well. I hope this is off any use. Good Luck
