Itunes 7 Installation error ISScrip.msi

This is a newer one that i have not seen. Has anyone got the error during the uprade to Itunes 7 that says the "InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi"? I have the most current version of ISSCript for Itunes 7 but it will not let me upgrade.

Did you ever get a reply. I got the same error message "1: The Install Script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi or contact your support personnel for further assistance.

  • ITunes Producer installation error

iTunes Producer gives me this installation error:
    "The installation failed.
    An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8, 2.53 GHz Intel processor, 4 GB RAM, with 30 GB of space available on my hard drive. I've already contacted iBookstore Publisher Support. They sent me here. Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help,
    Josh

I just installed Snow Leopard from install DVD 10.6 and then used software update to insure I have the latest system everything on this MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz processor, 2GB ram, 133 GB available space on the hard drive.
I get the same error as above.
    "The installation failed.
    An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Not only that, I also tried the installation on a recently purchased Mac Mini. Same problem.
Any hints, folks? It's annoying that the only install of iTunes Producer I can use is on my old, out of date Mac that I am now afraid to upgrade the system on because if this keps happening, I won't be able to upload to iBooks at all.

  • Lightroom 4.2 installation error - missing *.msi pathway

    Hi
I am having some problems installing the upgrade to Lightroom 4.1
I ran the install from a 'check for updates' and experienced an error that there was a network error and that Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi could not be found.
I cannot find this file anywhere on my system, and it appears to prevent the deletion of lightroom 4.1, as when I go to uninstall through control panel I have the same issue.
At present I have tried uninstalling in safe mode, and system restore, neither have helped.
Unfortunately the end result is that I cannot remove the products from my system to reinstall and I have not found an answer through forums of from anyone online.
Can you possible offer up some advice?
    Rob

Could be permissions issues with the windows system restore and/or install cache. Dunno, since I don't use LR, but if this is the case, you might wanna check the relevant sub-folders in your Windows\Installer and Program Files\Uninstall Information directories. By default they are invisible system folders, so you need to use the respective Extras --> Folder Options or Organize --> Folder and Search Options to unhide them first.

  • ITunes 8 Installation Error  PLEASE HELP!!

Ok, I know that this problem has been posted before and the last post was April of 2008.
I recently bought an iPod Touch (16gb 2nd gen)and I have downloaded the software for iTunes 8 on and I am attempting to install it. When I get into the installation process, I receive an error message that says:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘Microsoft.VC80.CRT, publicKeyToken=”ifc8b3b9a1e18e3b” (etc). Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x8007054F. The installation process is then "rolled back".
Now, even though iTunes will still install onto my computer and appear to function, it will not sync with my iPod Touch. When I plug in my iPod to sync with iTunes, I get this message:
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to removed iTunes, then install iTunes again."
I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it and the SAME thing happens! I have NO IDEA WHAT TO DO, and I need any help I can get. I have followed all of the information found on different forums online and it either didn't work, or I didn't understand the computer lingo. If anyone knows a solution OR if anyone has had the same issue and found a solution, PLEASE HELP! I didn't get this iPod to not be able to use it!

  • ITunes 9 installation error "Error getting file security"

Every time I try to install iTunes 9, I get this error:
    Error getting file security: C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\QuickTime 7.62.14.0\GetLastError: 5
Any ideas? I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

itunes installs quicktime. The trouble is with the security settings in the folder in C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache.
On both the Apple Computer folder and the Installer Cache, you will need to take ownership. Then delete the quicktime folder.
First, to see the folder, in explorer go to Organize, folder options, then view tab. There click the radio button see hidden files and unclick hide protected system files.
Then navigate over to the folder location above.
Right click on the folders, click on properties, then security.
There at the bottom, click on advanced. Then click on the owner tab. There you can change the owner to the user that you logged on as.
That should fix it. Remember to delete the quicktime folder after to take ownership.

  • ITunes 10 Installation Error: Windows Installer

I'm sure this is a common issue, but I have yet to even solve this problem and I am in need of assistance. Topic with same issue: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2599360
I have uninstalled a previous version of iTunes to upgrade to iTunes 10. When I finished downloading it, I go into the installation process. Right in the middle of the installation, an error message pops up with this:
+*There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.*+
+*A program required for this install to complete could not be run.*+
+*Contact your support personnel or package vendor.*+
I've tried many solutions while I lurked the internet:
    -Run As Administrator
    -Installed the Latest Updates
    -Updated Windows Installer
    -Cleared Unworking Registry Files
And some I may have forgotten, but I'm sure I covered all of it.
I'm still given the same issue after all that.
Is there something that still needs to be done?
I'm running on an Acer laptop with Windows Vista.

    Thanks for the help, polydorus!
But now I have another issue.
Before I had the iTunes problem, my sister gave me her iPod Touch 3G, which has been synced on her laptop before. I resetted via the Reset Options in the iTouch, then after a reboot, it came up with the iTunes Logo, a +, with the USB iPod Connector. So, I did what it said. I pulled up iTunes and plugged the iTouch in... The iPod Touch doesn't appear on the list. I tried unplugging it and putting it back in, resetting iTunes... then I upgraded iTunes, and now I'm still having the same problem.
So, my question is now... How can I get iTunes to find my iTouch?
I tried uninstalling Apple Mobile Device, but unsuccessfully uninstalling it, I repaired it after being able to upgrade iTunes. Could that be an issue?

  • ITunes 10 installation error

    Hi,
I just tried installing iTunes 10 via software update and during the installation I got an error (picture). After the error the installer did say that the installation was successful. Though iTunes doesn't open, it keeps on crashing.
I tried downloading iTunes manually from the Apple site but I get the same...
I googled the error message and there is some thread about people who use torrent programs, I do not. Repairing my permissions doesn't help either.
My last solution is to install a combo updater...
    Any other solutions?

  • ITunes + Quicktime installation error

Originally, I attempted to upgrade my old version of iTunes to version 7.2.3, and at the end of the installation I receive an error saying:
+An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files+
I then uninstalled iTunes, and tried to reinstall it to see if it'd fix the problem. But I keep getting the same error message, and the installation will not continue.
Does anyone know what's wrong with it? And what can I do to fix this? Please help, I'd really appreciate it.

Given that it's idiosyncratic, let's try seeing if the *General Instalation Troubleshooting* section from the following document is of any help:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows
... but if no joy there, let's try getting an installer log to the Apple Engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address: [email protected]
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • Itune\quicktime installation error invalid G drive on Windows

    Hi,
I am trying to install Itunes 9 on a Thinkpad T61. When it gets to the quicktime phase, it says invalid G drive. I have tried going to the cmd prompt and performing Subst G: C:\, but after doing so it goes a little further, then says "the specified path is too long G:\lib". My only option is to cancel out. I have tried starting in my dock with external drive plugged in and thumb drive too to avoid having to use the SUBST command. When I do it this way, I get a different error, 2869.
I have tried just installing quicktime separately, but does not work either. I etiher get Error 2869 or that the G drive does not have enough space? I have a different laptop (older T41) that it worked just fine. Why not just use that one? The USB ports will not operate at 2.0! (known but separate problem). Sorry for the long question, but could not find anyother similar post!

Doublechecking Jim. Have you tried the procedure I describe in the following post? (In your case you'd be looking to change the drive letter to G rather than F.)
