ITunes 7 is being screwy...

Ever scince i have installed iTunes 7 on my computer, the audio on it has been very staticy, but it isn't on any other program with audio (games, etc.). Im having a lot of trouble. The music that i had on it before iTunes 7 was sounding just as it should, but now that I have installed iTunes 7, the music files are ok, it is just that the output of the audio is just not sounding good. I burned a coupple songs to a disk and played them on my radio, and they sounded fine, i just don't know what is the matter with this. Can anyone please help me???

Man this is the worse update I ever trusted. Usually with Mac updates, I refuse till they get their kinks worked out cause I hate being their lab rat. Yeah I'm ******, cause I'm no fan of Windows Media Player either. For the record, iTunes rocks when it works.
Ok that's out of my system. Now for my lab rat report...
Initially my music sounds fine. The scratchiness "turns on" when I open pretty much anything, but not all the time. The scratchy sound sounds like the song is almost trying to play on top itself but its not. remember those old winamp problems? That's what it sounds like. It sounds like there's a memory problem.
If the music sounds fine after running or opening something, it will "turn on" sooner or later. Its a bit random. As I am writing this message I have opened directories and heard the scratch. I then switch to iTunes, stop the song, and then re-start it. Alls fine till it feels like doing it again. Sometimes it won't repeat the same action twice. Links in web browsers have triggered it, as well as opening a simple directory or running a file. But when it happens is different.
One thing is reliable. If, after I get static, and I turn off iTunes and re-run it - I can repeat the process instantly every time. The next action outside of iTunes WILL bring on the scratchiness.
Ok that said, let me clear on my memory: the system is updated, no viruses or spyware detected using trend micro 2006. The computer is using 2 monitors but has a 256 mb ram video card (radeon X850) and it has 3 gigs of ram with 100 gigs of free space.
I hope this info helps - until a solution is found - I'll keep monitoring - if I need to change my statement or add to it, I'll post it.
Good Luck

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

  • Since updating to iTunes 11.1.4(62) both my iPhone 5 and iPad Air do not sync.hen I plug them into my lap top directly, using the USB cord, they don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I had no problem before.

When I plug my iPhone or iPad directly into my lap top, using the USB cord, the devices don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I believe this bagan with my last iTunes update. The last time I syced any device was Oct 23, 2013. During that time I bought two new apple products and the same problem, when I plug them in they do not even show up as being available to sync. Any ideas why this is happening?

Ipad 4 won't turn on at all, and is recognized by itunes as being in recovery mode- when I try to restore it stalls on the portion stating "preparing device for restore" and on the page it says "itunes is restoring the software." Been like this for a day. I read the restore notes on apple, but this seems to be a little more unique than the standard recovery issues. Any ideas as to why I seem to keep stalling during the restore process?

Couple of things I can think of before going to the Apple store.
First, if you can, power off the iPad. Then connect it to the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it there at least an hour then try to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Also, you mentioned you have the latest iTunes. But it would be good to check the actual version. If the iPad is running iOS 7 you need iTunes 11.1 or later.

  • I can no longer buy, download, or update apps/iTunes without being asked for apple ID and billing information to be declined

I can no longer buy, download, or update apps/iTunes without being asked for apple ID and billing information. Even if apps are free or updating I'm asked for billing information. It's been like this for a couple of weeks after the purchase of a movie off iTunes and the purchase was successful but afterwards my App Store and iTunes stopped working properly. Help me please, thanks.

  • Is there a way I can use my external hard drive without the files being transferred on to my computer? as like like my iTunes music being on my hard drive without them being copied onto my computers hard drive ?

is there a way I can use my external hard drive without the files being transferred on to my computer? as like like my iTunes music being on my hard drive without them being copied onto my computers hard drive ? because i dont have that much memory and i wanted my external hard drive to be the source for my music files and not my computer.

Many users keep their iTunes libraries on external drives. You just have to remember to connect and power up the drive before launching iTunes.

  • My iTunes stopped being able to import all commercial CDs! Can't read them. Please help.

My iTunes stopped being able to import all commercial CDs! I keep getting this message: The song names for this CD could not be found online. Do you still want to import the songs? These are store-bought, mainstream artists. Never had problems before. This is a new Mac Book pro. I am temporarily relocating and was transferring most of my commercial CDs to Itunes. Went through about 100 CDs, including a dozen today, and now none will read. I tried downloading new software (it was up-to-date), and quitting and restarting. It seems that everyone who had this problem that I found on Internet searches was trying to import burned discs. Please help

So far, there are three of us who've posted a similar problem, in the last hour or so.   It may be working for you now;  it has started working for some, but it's still not working for me.  It's not your Mac.  It seems to be something related to Gracenote Media Database.
Your statement says it's stopped importing the commercial CD's but I think you mean it will import them, but not recognize song titles or album titles, even though your CD's are regular commercial CDs.  If that's the case, you are experiencing the same thing I am.

  • How to keep some things in iTunes from being uploaded to iTunes Match

There are files that end up in my iTunes library, because they are mp3's I believe, that aren't music and I don't want uploaded to iTunes Match. For example, my UVerse phone messages are downloaded as mp3's and end up in my iTunes Library. How can I stop them from being uploaded to iTunes Match?

You have to disable iTunes Match to be able to change the Media Type. But are you sure they are being uploaded to the cloud? As Jim says, any tracks encoded at 96 Kbps and below are ineligible for iTunes Match. If if you have not done so you should enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser.

  • Iphone not being recognised by itunes, but being recognised as camera.

I've updated everything, restarted my computer, restarted in services... it's being recognised as a camera folder, but not coming up in itunes. I need to download some apps using my computer, as my iphone has changed it's app store to China, but itunes has kept it as England, which means I cannot download apps without itunes.

I have the same issues. itunes 5.0.1.4 doesn't recognize my mini. ipod updater doesn't recognize my mini either. i have uninstalled itunes 5 and reinstalled 4.9, but it didn't work still. something in itunes 5 changed something in my system that reinstalling 4.9 doesn't fix it. updater just shows that i have no ipod connected. if i try to get updater to check for my ipod during the updater installatin, it just sits there and says "waiting for ipod". it's not my usb port because i can read and write to my ipod. i did the entire list of chores that apple suggests on the site including disabling all other functions and services, reinstalling the com port, uninstalling everything, reinstalling everything, getting windows install clean up, e v e r y t h i n g! nothing worked.
I then installed itunes 4.9 and updater 1.4 in my other laptop. i was able to update to firmware 1.4 using that computer. when i put the ipod into that computer w/ itunes 4.9, everything works fine. of course, it asks me if i want to link that laptop w/ my ipod. i said no, because i want to use my original laptop w/ the ipod.
anybody have a solution for this? it's like we all have the same symptoms and going to the same doctor and we end up having to diagnose ourselves. this is extremely annyoying and inefficient.

  • Changes in itunes not being changed on my iphone4s

Changes made on the iphone control feature in itunes, say add a song to a playlist or add an artist, are not being changed on the phone. Any ideas? thanks.

    Hello there, imasummergirl.
Great job, troubleshooting your issue so far. You may want to try manually updating your iTunes Match using the steps found in this article to see if that helps correct your issue:
How to troubleshoot iTunes Match - Apple Support
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. You can download the latest version for free.
    Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the iTunes menu, choose Advanced > Get Album Artwork.
Once iTunes has completed processing the album artwork, you'll need to update iTunes Match.
From the iTunes menu, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
In your instance you can skip steps 3 & 4, as your issue doesn't involve Album Artwork.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Itunes match - being told to 'add this computer' - why?

PC#1 was used to upload library to the cloud (MANY HOURS).  I then successfully synced PC #2 (Many more hours) thus Match worked as expected.  Now have added tracks to PC #1 that I want to upload to the cloud.  So I try to turn on iTunes Match (still using PC #1) and am I'm being told I have to ‘add this computer’.  However, if I go to store.view my account I can see that PC #1 is already an iCloud managed device.  Using iTunes version 10.5.1.42
    What gives?

It seems to be pretty common that iTunes will put up an "add this computer" even though the computer has already been associated with the iTunes match account.  When it's happened to me, I've just clicked through and signed in.
