Itunes 7 IS GARBAGE!

invasive, clunky, problem-ridden, annoying, confusing, ill-conceived...running out of negative adjectives. i suppose i could think up more if i hadn't spent all my energy for the last 3 hours trying to figure out why itunes would play one song and then stop. i finally found my solution and it was a two-sided one. (1) ERASE ITUNES 7 from my computer, never to return and REINSTALL ITUNES 6 or (2) USE WINAMP.
it's getting to where itunes will merely be used to sync my ipod and nothing more. i'm sick of this crap. itunes is sinking to the level of spyware players like REAL. I wouldn't be surprised when they start turning their info over to the RIAA nazis to prosecute people for not buying music directly from apple.

every time iTunes starts up it runs through the setup wizard
This usually revolves around iTUnes hidden pref files being damaged and/or a program blocking itunes from writting to it (Almost always antivirus/security programs but have seen one or 2 cases where it was caused by malware/adware)
Close iTUnes
In windows explorer, goto Tools>folder options>view tab then select "Show hidden files" And UNCHECK "Hide protected system operating files".
Now you need to goto these 2 locations and delete BOTH "iTUnes.pref" and "iTUnespref.xml" files
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
C:\Documents and Settings\june\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes
Disable antivirus/security programs.
NOW open iTUnes and you should go thru a setup wizard one more time. After that next time you open itunes is shouldn't give you the setup wizard
