ITunes 7 Lost Its Mac Touch+Some Problems I've Noticed
The glare effect isnt on any of the scroll bars except for album view.
The Play/Pause/Stop and Next and Previous Buttons have a WINDOWS 98
kind of look
The New Blue Music Symbol?
A. Looks Dumb on the Doc
B. Makes Front Row look plain and Boring
[I took 2 hours to try to find a way to replace the blue icon in the dock back to green so it still runs iTunes 7]
The Check-Marks next to the Songs don't have that cool blue glare effect anymore
The arrows to scroll album artwork have a blurry/maybe pixelated look
Album artwork takes a good time to load
and then when switching songs it does that cool album artwork scroll effect on only 3 cd's. On the rest it just lags and then appears at the next cd.
I guess the changes aren't that bad.
It just doesn't look like a native mac program.
And it needs alot of speed updates

My itunes recently lost its library for no apparent reason. The only library backup is an old one that does not reflect my current iPhone, and I do not want to have to re-input all the lyrics for the music I have imported in that time. Does itunes not automatically create a backup of its libraries? Is there anyway to copy this information off the iPhone?
I'm okay to simply drag all my music into a new itunes library, I don't want to go through the process of editing each individual file again, whether its cutting certain start/stop times, or inputting the lyrics for every single song...
Any ideas? I've tried googling a solution for hours. I even tried to system restore. This morning when opening Itunes, it simply told me that it could not locate a library, please select a library.Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My Itunes has lost its content but iTouch is safe with last sync. !!!!
I did a stupid thing !!
My laptop was almost full on Drive C so I decided to copy the music folder on my Visat laptop to the other logical drive E:
All the albums seemed to show in folders etc so I deleted the contents to release teh space.
Then I realised I had lost the iTunes content.
Even worse I had put many more albums into Itunes that I can fit on my iTouch so mioving the info back would still mean a lot of work.
However I can see teh folders of albums not on my iTouch i.e. outside teh sync selection so my question is 2 fold.
a) Is there a way of getting the iTouch info back to Itunes which currenlty shows as blank
b) Can I import the other albums into iTunes afterwards. (I must have done this somehow before because I copied them from my previous creative MP3 on the hardrive and iTunes seemed to pick them up from somewhere.

Itunes won't run because of some problem with my audio configuration? help!
it specifically says "itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration". anybody know how to fix that. all i did was when my itunes was werking perfectly fine i was uploading some videos onto it but wen i did it was freezing so i did it again and it froze again so i deleted itunes and installed it again. thats when the problem happened. i tried installing quicktime again. that didn't work then i organized my music and video files but it still wouldn't work. my speakers work good. id on't know what the problem is. CAN ANYBODY HELP????!!!!

I am having much trouble syncing.
Currently my iTunes says my phone has 7 songs synced (I have about 1000).
I unchecked the photo sync and it took away the music storage on the storage status bar.
It won't sync the selected artists I asked for and instead keeps everything. I've attached a photo of this.

I just bought my MacBook Pro and could not be happier! I have a problem with iTunes that seems like it should be very easy to resolve...
I have read several Internet posts and can not find a fix. I was able to migrate all the iTunes information from Windows to Mac, but I cannot play any of the files because of the differences in the way both OS's view paths (directory structures).
I am using an external USB hard drive to store my .mp3's. This worked great in Winows, but I cannot seem to find a way to point the Mac iTunes installation to this external drive. Everything I have tried has failed, including modifying the .xml files in the iTunes directory on the Mac.
Some posts advise the Mac iTunes installation does not give users the ability to use an external hard drive and forces all iTunes music to be stored locally on the Macintosh HD. I cannot believe Apple would be this stupid. Say, "It ain't so..."
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Is it possible to modify the Library .xml file with Mac entries so it looks to the external drive for my music files?I need to do it the hard way.

Make sure to change the location of the iTunes folder first.
Can you take the example I provided above and give me an example of a valid path to an external drive?

You only need to change the beginning of the path to the main folder where your music is.
Search for
*<key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/E:/User/My%20Music/iTunes%20Music/*
and replace with
*<key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/Other%20Drive/iTunes%20Music/*
What you are replacing with is the path to your external, not what I typed.
%20 is simply a space in the path/filename.
As above, your music would be on the external drive named *Other Drive* in the folder *iTunes music*. -
My macbook seems to be going crazy. At certain points (and for hours) I get the oh snap page on chrome, safari doesnt work, macbook wont let me create any files or for example upload music to itunes. I restored my mac so im sure its not a malware problem. The only thing that solves it is switching off and on , but sometimes I have to do that for 6-7 times before its ok or wait for a few hours. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -
I am trying to open iTunes on my mac. But a box pops up saying "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder". Anyone know what that means? I've had my computer 2 years and its never had a problem opening it
I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes. -

If you're using the BlackBerry browser, you can't configure anything to bypass the RIM servers. I believe you may do so by using the Opera browser, but I haven't tried it myself so cannot comment with authority.

Hi, After I installed Mac Lion, I have problem with the tamil font while typing in Neo Office. Especially with the letters "e-Ex: தெ" and "ai-Ex:தை". Please help me I know its not bug from Apple It shd be some problem in neo.
Is your problem due to the keyboard or to NeoOffice Characters? You have to change probably the font. Not all fonts are supporting all Unicode sets. Which font you have in your NeoOffice set to write Tamil? Try with Arial Unicode MS for example.
Are the letter e-Ex and ai-Ex right in your posting? If they are right, how you inserted these letters in your posting? By copy and paste or by typing? If by typing, your question is related to NeoOffice. Probably you should reinstall or update NeoOffice? Or switch to OpenOffice?

I recently bought some songs from itunes, and I tried to sync my mac air laptop to my nano ipod, but it didn't work. I usually use my PC computer to do this, and my music is in the itunes library on my mac, it just won't sync to my ipod. When I tried to sync my ipod to my PC to see if the computer was the problem, my recently purchased songs still didn't show up. Any ideas as to what to do? Thanks!
