ITunes 7 wont group edit Show Titles

If I select a few TV Shows, iTunes 7 will not allow me to change the Show Title. I can do it one show at a time.
Also, the Show Title field does not suuport auto-fill like all the other fields.
Plus, iTunes 7 is a dog in terms of performance. I have about 30 TV shows, 33 movies, and about 5000 songs. iTunes 6 would just load up. 7 takes forever and when it loads I get a dialog that tells me that it is loading the library.
But I do like the added features and look and feel.

ITunes TV Series grouping by Show not Show + Season

Hi,
I've tried everything to no avail, but is it possible to do the following:
Sort or group tv series so that for example every season of House appears under House and then episodes are grouped by season? Rather than every season having its own entry.
Currently my ripped series appear like this: http://zeddy.org/Screenie.png
And look the same in FrontRow. I used a couple of scripts of dougscripts to import them all and set them all as TV Episodes and the like.
Is such a thing possible or was iTunes 8 just made to sort series like that?

Select one of the tracks with a broken link, press ctrl-i to Get Info. Say No when iTunes asks if you would like to locate the track, then look at the Summary tab for the location expects to find the file in.
Now try to locate the file in question. The two locations should give a clue as to what to do next.
Here is an example with a file I've deliberately moved from the new layout to the old pre-iTunes 9 layout.
This means iTunes is expecting to find the file at:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
but it isn't there because I've moved it to:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
which is where it would have lived back in iTunes 8 (though the media folder would have been called iTunes Music back then as well).
If you can provide the expected and actual locations of a broken track I should be able to suggest the easiest way to resolve things.

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have a new computer with windows 7 and I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and when I open iTunes it wont show up in the devices section. My computer recognises it in the usb 2.0 slot but, iTunes wont. I have tried all the advice from iTunes support and youtube which is uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, using different usb ports and updating and repairing all programs.

Why is iTunes 7.6 no longer grouping TV shows by season / show?

I'm running iTunes 7.6 and have noticed that for the first time ever, purchased shows all within one season are now not grouped together.
This happens in "Cover Flow" view and in "Grouped with Artwork" view.
Some shows are unaffected. Others seem to be mainly stricken with the fact that iTunes is now thinking that the pilot episodes of some seasons are separate from the rest of the episodes within that season.

I had the same problem with a few shows, but was able to get around it. I selected the shows that should have been grouped together and hit Apple-I to bring up the Get Info window. In there, I put a checkmark in every field that would be universal for each show (artist, album artist, album, etc) and re-added the artwork for them.
Once that was done, they regrouped. Unfortunately, I need them grouped by show alone, now show and season. I have not found a way to group multiple seasons together.

Itunes wont organize tv shows properly

itunes is sorting my tv shows very oddly. For example, I have the first 3 episodes of season 2 of prison break downloaded. It groups the first episode in one group andthe 2nd two in another. It does the same thing for episodes of the office as well, all from the same season. This just started recently without me updating or reinstalling anything. Any ideas how to fix it?

I have noticed that for my TV shows, before a certain date they were organized into a "TV Shows" folder within my iTunes Music folder, but then they began to be organized by artist as if they were music. Perhaps this was the date of a software update to iTunes that I've since forgotten about.

Grouping TV Shows problem

My TV shows are not being grouped and put in folders even though I have the oganize media box checked. I also tried doing it manually and filling all the feilds but they still are all over the place as single entities. eg: TV show 1 season 1 ep 1 -16 do not show up in the same folder or group in iTune. so i wind up with a list a mile long in iTunes for individual episodes.
This is happening with TV i have not purchased through iTunes. They all play fine in iTunes and Apple TV but are just all over the place.

Well this is weird... I've spent plenty of time on these forums explaining how to link things together - see http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp - but I didn't think it would be this hard to split things up if you wanted to. I've been trying to make some episodes from two different seasons of a TV Show appear as two separate entries in the iPhone's Video menu but they insist on linking up under the one cover. In iTunes they appear as distinct shows, *<Show> 1* and *<Show> 2* yet once on the iPhone they get all linked up under *<Show> 1*. I've tried various combinations of setting & clearing season numbers, using distinct show names and album titles yet I can't break them up, let alone get the Show > Season > Episode breakdown that you are after. I'm assuming that the iPhone cuts off the show name when it hits a number so I'm just testing *<Show> First Season* & *<Show> Second Season* to see if that works.

The iTunes listings for the TV show The Wire are wrong! How do I tell them, and get my correct episode?

I went to the iTunes store and looked up the hit TV show The Wire. Doing so gives me alist of all 50 episodes, starting with episode 1 which it calls "The Wire". Makes sense since most TV shows start off with an episode called pilot or shares the main title of the show, but in reality the show it lists as Episode 2 "The Target" is actually Episode 1. The episode called the Wire is actually episode 6. Instead of viewing all episodes together I went into just Season1 where each episode seems to be listed in correct order, etc.

You can't transfer any purchase to the cloud yourself, whether a TV programme/series will show in the cloud for redownloading in the future depends upon what country that you are in (TV programmes can't be redownloaded in all countries), whether you move countries (you can't redownload purchases made in another country) and if the rights-holder keeps them in the store (they occasionally remove their items).
As you bought it on your laptop then you could turn Settings > iTunes & App Store > Videos (under 'show all') 'on' on your iPad and it might show in the Videos app on it with a cloud icon against it for streaming/redownloading (it might also show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app for refownloading whether or not you turn that 'on') - but that depends upon your country and only whilst it remains in your country's store. Similarly if you delete it from your laptop and tick the 'show iTunes in the cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences it might show in the TV Shows part of your library for redownloading (and whether or not you tick that it might show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading).
But you should be taking a backup copy of it, and anything else that you download from the stores, there is no guarantee that you will be able to redownload any item.
