ITunes 8.0 problems while syncing photos with iPod Classic 120GB

Hello, last week I bought the new iPod Classic 120GB, I updated iTunes to 8.0. But when I was syncing, everything sync (movies, music, cover arts, etc) except the photos. It appears this message "the iPod "Name's iPod" canot be synced. the required file cannot be found." Those anyone knows how to solve this issue?
When I don't selected to import photo albums, it syncs perfectly.
Thanx for your help

Oh, I have switched USB ports & cables just to make sure.  I am re-syncing now, but am afraid it will turn out the same and continue to have the same issues.

  • ITunes has stopped working while sync photos

I have been having problems since I updated iTunes to 10.4, it keeps crashing (itunes has stopped working) while sync photos. After uninstalling and re-installing the problem still stayed. I therefore tried sync photos a batch at a time (15 photos at a time) IT WORKED but I still cannot sync my videos. I think that the problem is that this new version of itunes cannot cope with big files and therefore it crashes. I HOPE THAT APPLE WILL SORT OUT THIS PROBLEM

downgrade to itunes 10.3 as 10.4 broke this feature. if not, just unclick the include videos box and your sync should complete. here's hoping apple fixes this in itunes 10.5.

  • TS1410 i can't see the songs in my  iTunes. These songs were synced from my iPod classic.

I can't see the songs in my  iTunes. These songs were synced from my iPod classic before the i tunes updates.

I would suggest as this is not Apple software you are using, you might want to look here.

  • TS3697 iTunes 10.7 does not sync photos to iPod, iPad, iPhone

It used to be so easy to select albums in iTunes to sync to my other devices, but it no longer works.  I've wiped out the iPod cache, done a fresh download of iTunes 7, and all I've managed to do is wipe all my previous albums off my iPhone.  How can I get iPhoto 11 v9.4 albums into iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (all running OS6) from my MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion?  I get nothing but error messages saying that iTunes no longer syncs photos with devices.

This was a bug that Apple fixed with their updated iPhoto version 9.4.1 which just became available a day or two ago.

  • TS1416 It seems the latest itunes version does not support sync functions to ipod classic

I have updated my Itunes to version 11.04 but it seems this version does not support syncing with Ipod classic it seems it only supports the Ipod touch.  Does anyone have any solutions for this problem?

  • Problem while syncing photo to iPhone and iPad. ITunes 10.3.1 mac

It never happened before but just happened today with iTune 10.3.1 mac.  I am using it on 10.6.8.
Between last time and now, I did update some mac 10.6.8. and today some java for mac os.  After syncing photo to iPad today, I noticed some photos are incomplete.  Half of the photo is white.  Some with complete photo but incomplete thumbnail. It happened to 30-40 photos out of 1200+.  I deleted ipod photo cache and resync the photo but it happened mostly to the same photos that had problem with slight variations.  I tried the same with my iPhone and had the same problem.  I tried 3-4 times and the problems remained.  So I can only suspect that something went wrong while iTune optimizes photos.
The only way to solve this for now is to remove the problematic photos and resync them one photo at a time.  Anyone noticed similar problem please give me some advice.

I have the same issue and tried all of the following without success (hoping to save others the hassle):
    Rebooted phone
    Restored phone and imported backup
Restored phone with no backup and imported photos
Moved photo folder elsewhere on machine and tried to sync it
Tried variety of folders with different images from different devices
    Restarted Mac
    Repaired permissions on mac
Ran Disk Utility and repaired hard drive, found a few issues
    Deleted iTunes Cache
    Deleted iTunes related plists
    Deleted iPod cache each time
Ran TouchCopy and deleted the photo plists forcing the phone to rebuild the database
Turned syncing of photos off and on again
    Ran all weekly/monthly cron jobs
New iphone 4 at Apple Store still repro'd
    And so on . . .
    Other notes:
Synced to iPod Touch I have and the same photos synced just fine
Restored phone as new and synced on another computer the same folder of photos that I copied over to it and it worked, but it is my husbands computer that I don't keep my photos on/use for syncing normally
Imported the same folder to iPhoto without copying the photos and it works, but I don't want to use iPhoto so not an option for me. Or using a different computer also worked, but not an option.
I went to the genius bar as well after trying all of the above and they had no idea and had not seen this. It appears to be more of a computerissue than an iphone 4 issue though. I say this since putting the same files on another computer (my husbands) synced fine to the phone. They replaced my iphone 4 and the issue STILL repro'd with nothing else on the phone with my computer.
    Config:
MacBook Pro purchased December 2010, 10.6.8, latest software updates installed, iPhone 4 latest updates installed
    Still troublehooting

  • Sync troubles with ipod classic 80 GB Itunes 9.0.3 and mac OS X 10.4.11

    Hey,
Since very recently I can't seem to sync my Ipod anymore.
Basically It syncs and I get the message sync is complete but the recently added audiobook isn't on my Ipod and the movies that were on there but are now delete from the library are still on the Ipod. Same goes for the newly added music, it's just not on there?!
I tried: upgrading Itunes, resetting Ipod using control+menu, I tried restoring it to factory settings, I tried pretty much everything (I THINK)
Can someone please help me? you can contact me via stijnvth@gmail(DOT)com

I Have a similar problem after the last update to the iTunes 9.0.3, in my case my iPod (30Gb 2005with Video) keeping restarting and crash on the apple logo point , pressing play + enter for a few seconds it make it go to disk mode, the iTunes recognized it, i used the "disk utility" just to make sure if wasn't a HDD problem and wasn't there , now I'm just waiting to get some juice on the battery to start a few tests. But the "Do not disconnect" symbol is black now instead of red.....
In your case , if some how you are syncing your iPod with 2 different iTunes library (2 computers) this problem can happen , some people iPods get similar problems when using a different software to back up the music from the iPod to the computer, if already you reset it to the factory settings and is not working , please check if your iPod music folder is not been shared with the windows media Player,(if you are using windows) if it is in the WMP option menu select to not overwrite or update the files on the music folder, some friends had a similar problem the files written via the WMP, can be played in the iTunes , but for so how it can not be copied into the ipod, they use the iTunes to manage music and sync with the iPod and the WMP to stream music from a PC via the X-Box360, PS3 or some other "DLMA"(Or something with similar letters) compatible device .
If you could try to Sync this iPod on a friend computer just as a test propose (i recommend the OS 10.5 or 10.6) maybe the problem is not in the iPod ...
Well good luck , still i have to fix my iPod here ......
    Have a nice one ....

  • Can't sync photos with iPod

I'm trying to load some photos in albums from iPhoto onto my iPod and it just isn't working. I click the Photos tab on the iPod screen; choose "Sync photos from iPhoto"; choose "Selected albums"; check the boxes of the albums I want uploaded onto the iPod; then press Sync. The swirling arrows come up next to the iPod name under Devices in the left column for maybe two seconds, then disappear. When I check, there are no photos on my iPod.
I've tried creating a new folder on my desktop, moving the photos into it and syncing from there - it doesn't work.
I'm doing everything right here and it just ain't happening. Can anyone help me?

I've got the same problem. Any help?

  • ITunes 9 install problem: software for communicating with ipods not install

I downloaded and installed the update for iTunes 9 via apple software updater last night, and when I started iTunes I got the error "The software required for communicating with iPods and Mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?" I click yes, and it says it couldn't fix the problem.
I followed the instructions here (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) to completely uninstall itunes and quicktime and all supporting components, including mobileme and bonjour and then reinstalled iTunes9 using the setup file downloaded from apple.com. Still no luck! I get the same error when I start iTunes.
any suggestions? Help! Should I go back to the older version of iTunes?
btw, when I uninstalled iTunes, I kept my library files and two plugins around: last.fm scrobbler and mmkeys. Does this matter? I don't think so: I tried removing the plugins and I still got the same error.
I'm running Vista 64bit, and I used the 64 bit installer.

For those using Windows 7 64-bit, I also experienced this frustrating installation error. However, tonight, I was finally able to install iTunes 9 without getting the communication message by setting the compatibility tab under the properties tab of the installer to the following settings:
    - check "run this program in compatibility mode for Windows Vista Service Pack 2"
    - check "run this program as an administrator"
    - launch the installer by right-clicking and selecting "run as administrator"
After selecting those options and also uninstalling iTunes and the Apple Mobile Device Support, iTunes 9 finally installed without any glitches on my Windows 7 OS.
Unfortunately, I don't have any advice for Vista users except for the already posted recommendation to use the 32-bit installer.

  • ITunes 11.2 sync issues with ipod classic 160gig

I have many Macs, and I have had issues in the past with my iPod classic 160 gig not being fully recognized by my main computer (MacBookPro 17") running itunes 11.2 and OS 10.6. Basically itunes freezes just after my ipod comes up on the sidebar, I can open force quit and itunes is not responding. I have tried using other cables and it doesn't help. I'd like to wipe the drive but I don't know if it is possible without connecting to a computer and all of mine won't initialize it.
What can I do to even start over and load all my music over again?

I figured out how to put it in recovery mode and I'm starting over, this ipod is more work than it's worth.

    Hey wavymitch,
I changed my iTunes account email address and Apple ID Sign-in.  My iPhone and iPad 3 keeps bring up my old email address when I go to download any updates to any of the apps on the phone/pad and from there I am unable to log into my Apple ID. When I enter the settings on the devices to view "iTunes & Apps Stores" and then select "View Apple ID" I am once again unable to access with existing password which did not change in iTunes.
I appreciate your response and look forward to a solution(s).  Thanks much for your help and patience!

  • Can't Sync Photos To iPod Classic

I have the last white plastic Imac with the latest version of the Mac OS (10.5.7) and with the latest version of iTunes (8.2).
I just recently tried to sync some photos (for the very first time) to the iPod. When I select the folder where the photos are located and tell iTunes to APPLY (sync), I get an error msg. telling me that iTunes CAN'T find the iPod (though the iPod does indeed show up in the left hand column of iTunes under devices); i.e it's saying that it can't find the iPod though it quite obviously DOES recognize it.
I've wasted a lot of time talking with Apple support who haven't been able to help. I find that Apple tech support and AppleCare tech support is inconsistent. I've wasted hours on the phone with them to ultimately get no (correct) help or to suddenly get a dial tone (the connection is dropped on the Apple end) and I have to call back and START ALL OVER AGAIN....going through Apple's funky voice mail system, etc. and then having to re-explain everything AGAIN from square one. A real pain in the ying-yang.
This is perhaps related to another issue that I've had with the iPod since I've had it and NEVER got resolved through Apple and I have just lived w/ the problem since last Oct; see my msg. from some months back that still remains unresolved.
BTW, I had a scheduled call from an "Apple Expert" yesterday who was supposed to have all the details of the problem (I had gone into detail relating the issue to an Apple Tech the day before and was assured that the expert would be fully up-to-speed when he/she called) but when I got the call I found that the tech had NOT been fully briefed as I was told that the person would be so they were unable to help and hence wasted a greater part of my day scheduling around waiting for the call from the "Expert". Phooey!
    HELP!
    JG

I had the same Problem, very frustrating until you realize what it was. My simple fix was!
    On your IPOD go to
    Settings
    Main Menu
    Photos (probably set to off)
    Turn ON
    Should do it

  • I purchased audio books from itunes and it does not sync to my ipod classic

After trying to sync a bunch of times I unchecked the sync books under my device and now its not there to check again; How do I get that back also?

Yes it can.  You can configure your iPod to sync audiobooks from under it's Audiobooks tabs in iTunes.  If you want to manually add your audiobooks, you'll need to have your iPod set up for manual management by enabling the Manually manage music and videos option from under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.
Here is more information on manually managing your iPod's contents.

  • Ipod classic 120GB sync problems

Whenever I try to sync my new iPod Classic 120GB with iTunes 8.1, it shows that it is transferring all the tracks, but when it is done, only a handful are transferred to the iPod. No error messages pop up, but when I sync it with an older version of iTunes, it seems to work just fine. The firmware on the iPod is already up-to-date and I've even done a restore, what can possibly be wrong which is causing the sync problems with iTune 8.1?

I have got the same problem, everything up-to-date. iTunes has about 80 gB of music, but synchronisation results in only 30 gB of music on my iPod. Apple's helpdesk first advised to reset the iPod: that meant another 24 hours of downloading, but the final result was even worse than the first time. Then they tried to convince me that my iTunes tracks perhaps were corrupt. But manually I can download every album. Finally they recommended to use manual synchronisation, that in fact means that the automatic sync option is no longer available! I cannot understand that Apple support is not aware of the problem and cannot properly fix it. Also after first contact by telephone there seems to be no possibility to complain by e-mail about the recommended "solution."

  • Windows XP sp3 + iTunes 8 + New iPod Classic 120GB = Blue Screen Of Death

    HELP
My PC has just upgraded itself with Windows XP Service Pack 3, I have downloaded iTunes 8, and just today bought a new iPod Classic 120GB so I could enjoy the new Genius facility (my old iPod was a 20GB model from 2005). However I keep getting the Blue Screen Of Death whenever I plug in the new iPod, even if I start-up the computer with the iPod connected.
I've read other threads about this topic, but I've only seen people reporting this issue with Vista, not XP.
    - I'm thinking of uninstalling and re-downloading iTunes 8. Will it retain all playlists, album artwork etc.?
    - I'm also thinking of trying to connect with the iPod manually set to disk mode. Will this help to begin with?
Anyone got a fix for this problem yet....Apple?

As a follow-up to my questions above, I've now tried uninstalling and then re-installing iTunes 8 direct from the Download link at Apple.com. I still get the BSOD. I also tried with the new iPod 120GB manually set to disk mode. Again, still I get the BSOD. I also unplugged a couple of other USB peripherals from my PC (writing tablet, card reader), checked for any more Windows XP Updates, but still get the BSOD.
    Anyone got any more ideas?
