ITunes 8.1.1 cant export as MP3

My wife and i both have 8.1.10 on 2 separate computers. She can right click on a selection and choose "create MP3 version". However, when i try the same thing, it only has the "create AAC version". This is highly annoying. How can i fix it?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This sounds like you're trying to convert a purchased song (from the iTunes Store) to an MP3? If that's so then that is not possible. The Format is "Protected AAC" which can't be modified (easily anyway...)

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

That's because Bluetooth is not supported out of the box for the transfer of photos to the iPad from your Mac. There are third party apps that let you transfer over WiFi or Bluetooth. I use this one. There are others in the App Store that you can check out.

You can also sync photos from the Mac to the iPad using iTunes.

What happened to export to mp3 in Garageband 10?

Previously Garageband allowed you to export to mp3 by clicking Share>Export to Disk> MP3 encoder, this seems to be missing in the new version. Anyone know how to get it back?

you can not open files from Garageband X back into Garageband 6
BUT
i have found it very useful to open both applicatiions at once
the recording studo garagebandX
- most of the filtres are a bit more refined and the interface is that much more sophisticated - access to all the Garageband 6 filtres are through legacy and it is a more enjoyable environment in which to work
mixing studio
bounce the tracks to itunes - (often combining voices that make sense into one track (strings example) - which results in smaller file sizes
- then create a mix track in garageband6 by dragging the tracks from the mediabrowser.
export with full capability
i've only been doing this for two weeks since i discovered this inconvienience to customers but as far as i can tell the production quality for upload is equal. and there is the added bonus of making a natural streamlining of tracks that is a little like having a good technician at your side !
and most importantly the full access to the customisation of .mp3 files.

Your source video file is probably muxed.
Neither QT Pro or iTunes has the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.
See: iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files.
You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.
Try MPEG Streamclip.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

I have itunes 11.0.3-when I download mp3 songs, it will not open up in itunes and play, which is my default music player. What is going on? I've googled this issue and nothing has come up. I've tried every solution I can possibly think of. All it does is open up iTunes, but it won't play or even save. What do I do?!?! I only use iTunes and sync everything with it. This is super frustrating!

First of all, make sure that it downloads and saves to your computer. That is the job of the browser, not of iTunes.
After it saves, make sure it is a valid MP3 song file, since many downloads from the web are not valid. Did it play correctly in another player, such as Windows Media Player or Winamp?

Mass Storage Device Drivers have been corrupted itunes 7.0.2 cant fix it

My ipods mass storage device drivers have been corrupted (Device cannot be started Code 10). Itunes 7.0.2 cant fix it. Im not willing to uninstall itunes and reinstall it to fix problem. I have 2 librarys on my hard drive with the guts of 120g of tunes/vids i know i wont lose the data but just dont want to mess with it. Is there any other way to fix the corrupted driver? Try restarting your router by removing power to it for 30 seconds. This may correct the problem.

i can take pictures off my phone but thats it, i have some nice programs for pictures and art work and cant get them back on my phone to send them to friends and family. Disgrace: no error msg when GB fails to export to mp3

Gb does not create the mp3 file when exporting to mp3 and does not give any warning or error msg.
Trying to find why this is so, I see several posts in several forums, I believe the oldest I saw dates back 2007.
I think it's a disgrace! This problem exists for so long. It costs so many people so much time. It is such a clear sign of poor listening to customers and poor testing.
I used to be a Mac/Apple fan, dating back to mid-1980's as Apple user.

This is especialy wrong since it is by no means anything esotheric. Right the first project you do, without doing anything fancy or weird. Just type normal descriptive name and it fails. Without warning or error.

I just came in here to report the very same thing, except in my case it may be due to the very large number of (approx 1000) frames in the movie I've created.
I successfully did smaller versions of the same thing (a series of same size/format logos) but it just goes through the motions (saying it is creating a 9.8mb movie) and saves nothing.
Is there some unstated upper limit on the number of frames when making a slideshow?
I've said it before but Quicktime is the one of the most poorly written and documented Apple apps I've encountered. The amount of time I have wasted on doing even the simplest things...

Well, i haven't accessed my itunes account for more than 7 months because my old computer was dropped and it broke. Now i finally got a new laptop. Then when i downloaded itunes and signed in to my account, i tried listening to music but a notification popped up and said my account was disabled. I changed my password but itunes still wont let me play music.
