ITunes 8.2.1 and iPhone

Just recently I have upgraded to iTunes 8.2.1 and every time I disconnect my iPhone I get a BSOD. I have checked some posts and followed the instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling but I still am getting this error. I have a Dell XPS using Windows Vista (64 bit)
Many of the posts indicate an HP printer or Logitech camera installed but I have neither. It WAS working just recently and started about a week ago.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
This is what I did
- Uninstall Apple Sync Driver (what installs the iPhone)
- Uninstall iTunes
- Reboot
- Install iTunes
- Reboot
- Connect iPhone
- Synch
- Disconnect iPhone
- BSOD

No one has an suggestion??

The computer will not erase the information.  Each device will show up in iTunes as a separate device and you can control the information for each device through iTunes.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
You need to follow, exactly, the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating an account (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) - I've just tried it and I got the 'none' option.
e.g. on my computer's iTunes I logged out of my existing account, found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
I then clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup :
Agreed to the terms, filled in my details, and got the 'none' option on the payments screen :

  • HT1689 iTunes search on iPad and iPhone is not working.

When I open iTunes on my iPad and iPhone the search feature doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to resolve that?

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Updates of Apps from iTunes 11 for iPad and iPhone 5

Since updating to version 11 of iTunes both my iPad and iPhone 5 cannot get updates for apps. My iPad is showing that there are 3 updates available but when I try to connect I get the error message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". Other links such as top charts, genius and purchased are all available. Synching the iPad has had no effect. Has anyone any ideas? Many thanks for any help.

If you are attempting to update directly on the iOS device, there have been a number of issues reported around this. Appears to be a server issue and is effecting some, but not all user. Some things to try:
Wait it out a little bit while Apple addresses the server issues
Try downloading any available free app. Once the download is complete, try the updates again.
Try connecting from another WiFi network
Sign out of your apple ID (Setting app, iTunes & App store) and sign back in
Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
You might want to start with the reset. May not help, but won't hurt.

  • Unable to Sync Video files after Itunes 9.0.3 and iPhone software update

This is my problem with Itunes- After I the Software Update program installed iTunes 9.0.3 yesterday, and I upgraded the iPhone software (to 3.1.3.) shortly thereafter. The iPhone upgrade failed (it froze). When I restarted the computer, I had to restore the iPhone and then I synced. I could not sync my video files.
The apps, music and "push" items sync perfectly. However, it ignores the Movies, Podcasts and iTunes U files.
In terms of the location for these files, all of my Library and Media files are contained in a firewire external drive. They have been there since I started up with iTunes many years ago. All worked well before the Install/Upgrade.
Problem is- iTunes ignores the pointer in Preferences/Advanced/Location and creates an empty folder, named iTunes in the Music library (in my Home directory) at every sync (even if I delete it, it recreates it on the new sync).
Question-Why does iTunes ignore the pointer, and create a new empty folder in Home?
    Thanks for your help.

Apparently Apple doesn't bother to test their software updates. This problem was introduced last September and has persisted through a number of updates that were supposed to address the bug. Very discouraging. I keeping holding out hope that an iTunes update will eventually fix this feature that worked fine for years before iTunes 9 was introduced.
Unfortunately, it is impractical to go back to an earlier version of iTunes.
I have reported this bugs several times (via iTunes feedback). If Apple actually reads the feedback, they never respond.
It's not like there are other vendors or unknowns involved: current iMac 24, new iPod Touch, the latest version of iTunes and iPod OS.
So what do we have to do to get Apple's attention? Stop buying music? Stop buying Apple devices? I'd love to buy the new iPad, but I'm darned if I will if they are unable or unwilling to fix this bug...

  • HT204266 I have two different iTunes balances between Mac and iPhone. How do I combine them?

I have one balance for the App Store on my iPhone (ios 4), and my mac (Snow Leopard) iTunes and AppStore, and iPhone iTunes all share a different balance. When a purchase is made on one balance, the other balance is unaffected.
How can I combine the two balances? Any idea what caused it?

I don't think so. The only other ID I have is a developer id, and I didn't get that until several months after I got the phone. In addition purchases I made from the App Store onthe phone would sync up with It unes on the Mac meaning it would be the same id.
However I looked at the AppStore on my phone while it was connected to the Mac with iTunes open, and now the balance has changed to the same as the others.

  • How can I use same iTunes on iPad 64GB and iPhone 5 16 GB memory

How can I use same iTunes account on iPad 64GB and iPhone 5 16 GB memory

Just connect them your computer. iTunes will treat each device separately. Or if you mean iTunes Store account, you can choose what you download to each device, either directly from the iTunes Store or in synching from iTunes on your computer, as long as you don't have automatic downloads turned on.
    Regards.

  • Can you share iTunes libraries between iPad and iPhone?

I know how to share libraries between my MacBook or iMac and my iPad and/or my iPhone. My question is, can you share your iTunes libraries between your iPad and iPhone only, without using a computer?  I wanted to share movies between my iPhone and iPad in Europe over wi fi so I could take more on two devices.  Does iCloud support videos?

There are no iTunes libraries on the iPad or iPhone. You have iTunes content on the devices but not libraries. The content is stored in the respective apps as you well know. AFAIK there is no way to share the content from one device to the other using any iOS feature in the current sysetm.

You don't need a computer (other than to set this hard drive and and transfer the content), but it is one more device that you have to lug around with you.

  • ITunes 11.1.5 and iPhone 5C w/ latest update won't sync

When I select new books and songs in my iTunes to sync with my iPhone 5C they will not sync. When I select items on the phone to be removed they will not sync. I have iTunes 11.1.5 and whatever the lates iOS is.

I have this problem too.  I have an iphone 5 and on my macbook pro OS X 10.9.2 & itunes 11.1.5.  Whenever I attempt to move music back and forth recently, the sync does not occur correctly (mainly on the end of my phone).  Luckily music I have purchased on my phone does sync to my computer, but I can't get any of it off my phone so at some point my phone is going to be full!
Any help would be much appreciated!

  • How can I get apps for my MacBook Air, iTunes only shows iPad and iPhone apps?

How do I get app's at iTunes for my PC - a MacBook Air?  All I see are iPad and iPhone apps.

    You don't.
Itunes doe snot sell any apps at a ll for your computer.  ONLY for iphone, ipod touch, ipad.
You would have to go to the Mac App Store in order to find apps for your mac.

  • Will iTunes support an iPod and iPhone that uses the same computer?

I'm curious to know if Apple has/will take into consideration that many people who will purchase the iPhone, will make the purchase as an addition to their Apple perepherals and not a substitution. Meaning, the iPhone will not replace the iPod as their portable music player. As I understand, Apple has set copyright guidelines to how many iPods one can assign to an individual player, and how many iPods one could transfer files to, to only 1 player. My question is, is Apple going to allow file transfers to both the iPod and iPhone when the user syncs from their computer? I want to purchase the iPhone upon release, but I would reconsider if I was unable to listen to music on both my iPod and iPhone.

Nobody knows how it will interact. Probably just like an iPod does now. You can have multiple iPods for syncing to one computer, each receiving different content. So there shouldn't be any issue there.
By the way, the authorization limit is number of computers not iPods. There has been cases here of whole families with each person having one sometimes two iPods.
