ITunes 8.2.1 cannot see the podcasts in iPod touch

I upgraded to iTunes 8.2.1 now.
Then iTunes downloaded some new/recent podcasts.
When I synced my iPod touch, iTunes showed this message:
The iPod "<my iPod name>" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (10.6GB required, 2.06GB available).
My iPod touch (with 3.0 OS) still contains about 9GB of podcasts,
but iTunes doesn't show it when I click on Devices->iPod touch.
My iTunes library shows all podcasts intact on my PC.
Checking Podcasts->Sync->all and All podcasts doesn't work.
If I could delete all podcasts on the iPod, I would, but there are like thousands and there is no "Delete" for a certain podacast folder.
I could only delete one by one, which I don't want to do because
there are like 1700+ of my Japanese audio lessons.
Please help me!

Neither method worked. Replacing the music library and rolling back to 8.2 (after deleting four iTunes-related plist files) resulted in the same problem - everything syncs but my Music. I also reset the iPod Touch but that didn't make a difference.
The interim solution I found is to add Music to my iPod manually. I set my iTunes iPod Preferences to manually update the iPod and drag and drop away. A pain, but at least I can use the iPod until I figure out how to get Music to automatically sync again.

Upgraded iTunes: now cannot see the Podcasts on my iPod nano

I know it sounds odd but I am genuinely sad that I have not been able to use my iPod for two days:
I bought an iPod nano when they first came out and have been very happy with it. Two days ago I upgraded iTunes for the first time (to 7.6.2.9). Since then I have not been able to "see" the Podcasts on my Nano from iTunes.
This is an issue because it is mostly full of music which I'd rather not delete, and the remainder is Podcasts which I download, load, and delete every day.
If I cannot delete the old Podcasts, I cannot fill it up with new ones.
The first thing I did was to upgrade the iPod firmware (to 1.3.1) but I still can't see the Podcasts. I have tried to read the documentation and go through all settings in iTunes, look on the web but with no success.
My friend has a similar generation iPod and iTunes (~7.5). On this version of iTunes, the Podcasts are also gone. When I plug in my friend's iPod it has a Podcast icon as well as the Music icon. The older version of iTunes let me, I think, see the Podcasts together with the Music.
Could I somehow have "deleted" a Podcast icon which iTunes need? Can it be restored save for wiping my beloved iPod clean? Can I gracefully downgrade to an old version of iTunes without losing my Music/Podcast library?
Is anyone familiar with the problem?

Allan is this the same problem I have - downloaded a couple of chapters of a podcast onto nano - and they played fine - although I had to search for them to find them. Then connected to computer and wanted to search to delete them but no search brings them up? If it is the same, have you resolved your issue? I have same problem that no more room to store so I want to get rid of the listened to podcasts.(ps I'm on windows not mac) Thanks, Ele

My laptop has windows 7 64bit and when i downloaded itunes it doesn't recognize my 3gs or my Ipod touch, but will charge them both

Recently purchased a laptop, came with windows 7 64bit, downloaded itunes and tried to sync both the 3gs and Ipod touch, itunes doesn't recognize either. The computer doesn't show the devices on the device manager but I am able to charge them both from the usb ports. Tried uninstall and reinstall itunes and rebooting the apple mobile device support. Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-trying the photo sync and see if they all then copy over (you need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad) ? Don't know about the Facebook photo emailing, but there are a number of apps that allow to upload photos to their site (e.g. the 'official' Facebook app).
(For future info, typing all in capitals is considered SHOUTING - you are more likely to get help/responses if you don't.)

You can use the steps in this article to view the device list in iTunes and eject your iPod. The steps are slightly different for the different version of iTunes:

I know it can be frustrating to have a device that isn't working as it should, and this link may also help with restoring your iPod classic:

If your iPod can't be restored normally, try placing it into Disk Mode. See the instructions under "iPod devices with a Click Wheel" in this article:

Not sure if I'm following you exactlly,
If your not seeing Apps in the sidebar, open iTunes Preferences and in the General tab make sure that the Apps box is checked.
Also note: that only iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch iOS App's that are Synced with the computer will appear in the iTunes Apps Library.
Plus if you are trying to remove App Store App's from your Mac? Just move them to the trash from your Application Folder and the go to the App Store, login to Purchases and hide them.

On pc and mac it's fine but on all my iOS devices, the album artwork, title and artist info is missing; however, the song plays. Hi, I have this problem too. I've uploaded photos of my granddaughter to iCloud Drive on my 5 year old PC and can see the content on my PC at iCloud .com - though the system does not allow me to see minimised photos, just lots of numbered, blue rectangle icons. I spent over 2.5 hours with Apple Support yesterday and they could NOT resolve the issue in any straightforward manner, though did suggest I go through the same time consuming uploading process placing the same photos in the Beta version of 'Photos' available at iCloud.com. What a cumbersome system. Why hasn't Apple offered an iCloud Drive app (free of charge) so that once content has been placed in iCloud Drive it can Bev retrieved on any iOS device, as Apple suggest. A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to see either of your devices in the sidebar of iTunes after a recent update. A number of issues could cause this type of behaviour, and would recommend starting with the troubleshooting from the article named:

I have been getting this error message since about the end of June when I updated to the latest version of iTunes. It's pretty annoying. Let me lay out how this has been happening for the past month, the best I can. I have a 32GB 4th gen iPod Touch
I load content up to my iPod. Music, Apps, Videos, pictures, etc.
My iPod works well for a little while, days sometimes a week is the longest I went without seeing this message.
I connect iPod back to my laptop through the standard pack in Apple USB connector.
I get the "Itunes cannot read the contents of ipod. Go to the summary tab in Ipod preferences and click Restore to restore this ipod to factory settings." message. When I go to the preferences tab, I click restore and iTunes gets stuck trying to restore my iPod. Then I have to uplug my iPod. And Shutdown/Restart my PC reconnect my iPod, and go through the restore process again.
I have been doing this for as I said, a month. It's getting pretty grueling to keep havomh putting cotent on my iPod after these restores.
I've tried everything.
I've stopped autosync, it still happens.
I tried to reinstall iTunes(be it I didn't full uninstall before trying to install again and got the option to fix corrupted files and such
I've deleted all old back up, and it still happens
Today is the fist time I'm fully uninstalling iTunes, and then reinstalling to see if this works.
But do you guys have any otehr solutions for this? As I said, this didn't start happening until I installed the lastest version of iTunes 10.6.3

- Have you tried another cable?
- Another USB port?
- When you have the problem, connect it to another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
- Try just restoring the iPod to factory settings/new iPod. Do not restore from backup. If you still have the problem with this and all computer that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
