ITunes 8.2.1 freezed my laptop

I have got BIG problem from half an hour ago. I have updated iTunes on my MacBook Pro 17" and it restarted, during restart it let the sound like firmare installing (3 sec long) and since then my keyboard and trackpad, mouse... nothing works! it restarts and loads and then freezes. I tried everything, but nothing helps.
If I load it up from OSX DVD (yes, then keyboard is working properly) it just says that "it cannot be installed from this DVD", and that's it.
Please... anybody with same problem or any idea? Thanx

I am have an extremely difficult time understanding you but it sounds to me like your hard drive died. I would suggest that you run AHT to check it out.

Sync freezes my laptop

I have the following set up: IPod touch 32GB, Vista Business OS and a new Vaio BX61MN. When I go to sync my touch with ITunes after transferring around 50 songs from my 3,000 library across to the touch......it freezes.
Laptop becomes totally frozen and after 30 mins this message comes up +"IPoint.exe has stopped working"+ I also get a separate box which says +"The iTunes library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-1450)"+
What I believe is happening here is that iTunes has problems accessing data off the SATA hard drive and so is freezing.
This is what I have been doing:
1) Turn on laptop.
2) Connect iPod touch to laptop to open ITunes.
3) IPod and iTunes automatically begin to sync.
4) 3,000ish songs start to sync, after 40 to 120 songs sync copy across to my ipod touch the laptop freezes up.
At this time I cannot shut iTunes’s down or open up any other programme. The whole thing sits there like a lemon for ages, 30 mins plus. I have recently discovered that if I unplug the iPod (which I hate to do unless by the correct methods) then the laptop gets back some functionality but it runs as if 25megs of ram were installed, runs like a pig until I reboot which can take 30 mins to 3 hours in one case.
If I switch sync off then I can drag the entire library into my touch with no problems, it all transfers across but after that when I switch sync back on.......it freezes again even though it is not now moving songs onto my iPod.
Any help would be great.

You can try this:
1) restart your computer
2) once restarted, do not run anything else, except for launching iTunes manually
3) connect your devices to your computer
If the problem persists, more troubleshooting is required, see below:

.dmg.part is not a complete file.. It usually indicates that the entire file has not been downloaded yet. Are you sure you downloaded the entire file? (i recommend updating itunes through  > Software Update

Thank you so much for you reply. Is that possible to do the retore of my Mac without Disk. I have tried other Movie Disk as you mentioned and that worked properly. so now according to you my disk is not good.
Its really strange that i am using my installtion disk first time and it has no scratch but its not working. now I guess I have to replace new DVD with this one.

Remove SC Info.sidb file
(This applies to Win7 or Vista)
From the Start menu, click Computer.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.

Yeah! Click on your iPod when it shows up under "Devices" on the left side of iTunes while plugged in. Click on the music tab at the top and select "Manually Manage songs and playlists". Then click the arrow next to you iPod on under "Devices" and it will drop down "Music" "Videos" etc under it. Go to "Music" and select all your songs and drag them to the iTunes "Music" tab. They should copy over. Then you can go back and enable autosync.

I first accessed my iTunes account using my wife's laptop. I then bought my own laptop and began using that for my iTunes account, so I am fine. However, I bought her an iPod which is effectively redundant because she can't seem to access her iTunes account using her own laptop - it just defaults to my iTunes account. I have tried de-authorising etc, and have even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes on her laptop to try to change the default settings, but none of this has worked. I can't believe it is that difficult to do this. She now has an iTunes account and an iPod which she doesn't use.
All I need to do is switch the default iTunes account for her laptop form mine to hers. Pls can anyone help? Thks

i'm not quiet sure atm but should normally work like this:
connect to itunes store -> log out with ur account (upper right corner where ur apple id is displayed) -> sign in with ur wifes apple id -> activate computer (store->activate this computer)
normally it should work this way but ur wife wont be able to use apps or music within itunes library purchased with the other apple id

The files that weren't inside the media folder on the original machine need to be copied over to exactly the same paths as they had on the source machine. See this thread for an ongoing discussion of a similar problem. See also this post on migrating the iTunes library.

I can't access my iTunes account info from my own laptop, but I can from other computers.

I can perform a basic log in on iTunes. I can authorize my laptop. But when I click the Account link and re-enter my password, iTunes won't accept it. I tried to access my Account page on my friend's desktop -which wasn't even authorized- and I got in right away. I have exchanged more e-mails in the past 4 weeks with iTunes Support than I ever have with my own mother, and this issue is still giving me teeth-grinding fits. At this point I can't renew paid app subscriptions or purchase paid apps from either my laptop or my phone. It seems like it might have started after I installed the last iTunes update, but I'm not sure.
I have:
-Completely un and re-installed iTunes
-Had my password reset by Tech Support more times than I can count
-Had my laptop de-authorized by Support and re-authorized it
and this issue persists.
I haven't met a computer problem that made me want to put my head through a wall this badly since I owned a DELL!!

Okay everything was going fine until i updated my software with the latest Lion update and my other macbook pro works fine (still on snow leopard). Come on Apple man up and admit the Lion upgrade wasn't ready!!!!! and i didn't say i couldn't connect to the itunes store i told him i couldn't access my account information!!!

I've uninstalled, restarted then installed again the 64 bit version of Itunes and it keeps freezing even in safe mode, there is no way that I can sync my iPod touch 4g to my computer. ITunes 10.3.1 freezes when I try to delete files I have ripped from my own CDs.

I am in the process of updating a number of CDs that I ripped at 128kbps with rips at 256kbps. When I delete the 128kbps files most of the time iTunes 10.3.1 freezes with the spinning beach ball. The files are in the trash but I have to force quit iTunes. When I restart iTunes, the deleted files are still visible and playable and I can know delete these without any issues.
I have tried turning off my external OWC Mercury Pro Blu-ray/DVD/CD burner but this has no effect.

I have the same issue. I took it the genius bar and called talked to tier 2 phone support. They have standard thing where you uninstall all apple software in a certain order and then reinstall 64bit itunes. That did nothing (tried it 4 times).
I've gotten two clues so far.
One is that at the store if I plug someone else's iphone 4 in then itunes acts the same way. So it is not the phone. Two is tier 2 phone support told me to try syncing it with a fresh user account (an admin one). I did that and itunes was just fine, it did not freeze.
So there appears to be some conflict with the software, music files, whatever that is on my current user account (also an admin account). I ran virus and malware detectors and found nothing. Now I'm going to try putting my music, movies, apps, etc in the new user account and see if the phone will sync then.
I know its not much but thats where I'm at. I hope it helps.
