Itunes 8.2 won't open and gives weird message

I tried downloading iTunes 8.2... it seems to download fine but when I select to open iTunes after it is finished installing, it gives me this message (that I can't read!!!):
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3920/zz25.jpg
When I try to open iTunes it won't and that message always appears.
It might be because when I had the older version of iTunes it was in a different language... but now I can't change it or read it. When I install 8.2 the agreement also shows up in boxes.

Hey,
Here are the steps that should help:
1. Close all applications.
2. Go into the Finder>Home>Library>Preferences
3. Delete 'com.apple.iDVD.plist' and 'com.apple.iTunes.plist'
4. Restart Immediatley.
This should work. Cheers, Ricky.

  • ITUNES WON'T OPEN AND GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE HELP

my iTunes won't open, and instead pops up a window saying:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-200)."
Something similar to this is happening with my mac DVD player. When I try to open that, it won't open and says:
"There was an initialization error. The audio output device could not be found. Please make sure speakers or an appropriate output device is connected. [-70027]"
doesn't come in to handy when you are about to watch a new episode of Lost .
anyway, I saw the speaker thing and went online. Any sound online (music, popups) can all make sounds - so my computer isnt permanetly muted. I've also restarted my computer, done the system updates, and gone into system prefereces to mess around with the volume. The computer recognizes the internal speakers. HELP!

  • Iphoto won't open and has a message that it may be damaged or incomplete when I try to open.  It worked fine yesterday and I loaded ilife 11 and now iphoto won't open.

After I loaded ilife 11 and tried to open iphoto, I could not and had a message saying it may be damaged or incomplete.  It was working fine yesterday and I've never seen this message.  What should I do?

First run Software Update so you have the latest version.
If you still have trouble then hold down CMD and OPT as you click on iPhoto.  It will give you options to rebuild your library.

  • Photomerge panoramic won't open and gives "error 364" message

I shot my first panoramic set this morning and tried to load into the panoramic photomerge feature on PSE 6.0, but when I select that, it says "internal error: 364" and will not do anything. It gives me the "send error report" option and essentially locks up and freezes. I thought at first it was because of the raw to dng convesion so I made the images jpegs and tried that, but it does not appear to be the problem because I don't get to the point where I can load images. The first time I tried to select/load the images from the PSE 6.0 organizer and that failed. Then I open the PSE editor and tried to choose the photomerge pano option, expecting to be prompted to choose images, but I get the same error report. I have IBM laptop and run Windows XP. Any ideas?

Here is a link to another thread that mentions that some people have resolved this problem with Photomerge Panorama by uninstalling, cleaning up and reinstalling. Having anti-virus turned off during install activities is important. See the thread for more details.

    Jack Bush,
Since most people responding on these forums are other Adobe customers, we really don't have any info that directly helps to troubleshoot a message that references an internal error. So unless we have solved that problem on our system or someone else who has solved it then posts a description, we don't have any definitive answer.
For that error message when running PSE v7, you could contact Adobe Tech Support. If you do resolve the problem on your system, please do come back and post how it was solved. This will help other forum participants.

  • CS6 installed, but half of the programs won't open, and give me a "Bad Image" error message

3 days ago I installed CS6, opened Premiere once without problem, now it gives me an error titled 'Adobe Premiere Pro.exe - Bad Image' :
C:\Windows\system32\MSVCP100.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
After that, I removed CS6 completly from my computer, and reinstalled it, after I scanned for virussus. Still the error message appears.
    I use Windows 7.

    Cheers! That worked!
First it told me I had a newer version of MSVC 2010. So I removed it, installed it again, rebooted my computer, and after that installed CS6 and now it works. Thank you very much!

  • TS1717 My itunes won't open and I get message that says "The file iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes." I am unsure what this means, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled the itunes, and it still will not

I receive the message: The file "iTunes library.itl"cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. I do not know exactly what this means.  I have Windows 7 on my computer and was able access itunes until just recently.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes multiple times and that does not work.  Sometimes I can get in when immediately after installing, but then if I close it, i cannot get back in. Now, i can't get in at all.

That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Safari 7.0 won't open and gives error -600 (Mavericks)

I found a YouTube video that showed how to prank someone with a script the kills an application every time it's opened. I typed the script in and ran it. It worked for a few seconds. After running the script The Safari icon on the dock was bouncing continuously. I put my macbook to sleep and shortly after woke it back up. The safari icon stopped bouncing but when I try to open safari it does nothing. When I click on Safari in the applications menu in finder it gave the error -600. How do I fix this?

I don't know what the "prank" script did, but if you're lucky, you can solve the problem by rebooting.

  • Firefox won't open and gives me an error that it is already open when it isn't.

Whenever Firefox crashes or I restart the computer, I get this message that I can't open a new browser because Firefox is already open.
I am using a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.7 and I have Firefox 5.0

I have the same problem when I'm trying to browse ringtones and stuff for my phone (browsing on my pc) on the site mytinyphone.com .. and when I click the "OK" button, it redirects the page that I am on to some other page, and when I click the back button in firefox to go back, it pops up and same thing happens.

  • Pro Tools won't open and strange Warning message

I have been using Pro Tools 11.3 successfully for about a month. I just did an OS X update a week or so ago. I also did a Pro Tools update about a week ago (to 11.3.1). I went to open PT and the app opened, but my top menu never came up. It was just the normal Finder menu, but with my Pro Tools interface open where I could see all the tracks, etc. Clicking to desktop and back to PT several times did nothing.
I closed PT and did a Disk Utility "Repair Permissions". As the repair started up, the progress text gave me the warning below. I'm trying to figure out what it means. If it is a Mac thing or a Pro Tools issue. If someone can help me I would sincerely appreciate it.
<<<<<< Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.>>>>>>>>>>
The repair progress continues with this:
<<<<<<Group differs on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be 80; group is 0.Permissions differ on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be -rw-rw-rw- ; they are -rw-r--r-- .Repaired “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”User differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; user is 244.Group differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; group is 244.Repaired “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”>>>>>>>>>>>>
I've never seen this message before and wonder it is part of the problem or signals what the problem is. I have downloaded a few free Pro Tools plugins. If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it.
    Thank you,
    Leonard

    Thanks apostol13,
You need to make SURE the Digidesign Core Audio Manager software, which Logic and iTunes use to "talk" to Digi hardware, is NOT running. if ti IS, turn it off.
    Then PT will start up.
    Cheers

  • Fire fox will not open and give the message that program is already running when it is not and i have to restart my computer. i am running windows xp and this problem started after the last up date. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program

    is this a known issue?

If you close Firefox properly the problem will practically disappear.
    To close Firefox properly:
:<b>Closing Firefox</b> ''(#close_firefox)'', avoid getting <b>Firefox already running</b> messages:&nbsp; To properly shutdown Firefox when multiple windows or closing the
last window use File → Exit/Quit (or Firefox button → Exit).&nbsp; Closing Firefox with the [X] in the upper right corner closes the window ("Ctrl+W") but that does not necessarily close Firefox if it has subtasks running.&nbsp; If you want to close and reopen Firefox use the "Restart" within Add-ons if you made a change requiring a restart, or install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/restartless-restart/ Restartless Restart]" ("Ctrl+Alt+R") which will allow you to take Firefox down and restart without having to check the Windows Task Manager to see if Firefox first actually ended. ([http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs Firefox hangs])
In checking the Windows Task Manager be sure to check the "Process" tab not the "Application"tab/

  • ITunes won't open and a Windows error message pops up

I downloaded iTunes 10.2.2.12 awhile ago.  It worked fine the first time.  Ever since then, whenever I plug in my ipod, my laptop recognizes and says it's syncing but iTunes won't open.  I double click on iTunes and I get an error message from Windows saying that an error has occurred and it needs to close iTunes but it never even opens up.  (The message doesn't give any error codes.)  I've tried completely uninstalling iTunes and all its components and then reinstalling it but I get the same error message.  I have Windows XP 2002 Home Edition SP 3.  Please help.  Thanks.

    Many thanks.
Yes, it is an "iTunes has encountered a problem" error.  The ModName: dnssd. dll        The ModVer: 2.0.5.0     Offset: 0000246c
With that one, by way of experiment, let's try disabling your Bonjour Service.
In your Start menu, right-click My Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
    ... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time?
