ITunes 8: How to Disable Page Load Sound Effect on Vista

I tried looking around the site for some answers to get rid of the annoying sound effect after a page loads in iTunes 8 on Windows Vista, but didn't see any. After looking in Vista and playing around with some settings, I have found the answer!
Vista users:
1. Right click on your desktop, and then go all the way down and click "Personalize"
2. Click "Sounds"
3. Scroll down until you see the iTunes category.
4. Click the "Page load complete" sound and then change the sound (bottom left of the window) to (None).
Annoying sound DISABLED.

I've tried to lower the quality, and with pure magic, it now works, even when I put highest quality. I don't understand what happened. I asked you how to disable openGL because they told me to in the last discussion. So, thank you for repairing my problem (I think you repaired it, i'll make tests to see). To enhance an on-line life-style magazine compiled with InDesign CS5, I convertered a page-turning sound effect from a WAV file I found on-line for free to an MP3 in Audacity (a free, Open Source audio recording and processing program). I pasted in the resulting short MP3 onto each spread using Filie - Place as directed by the InDesign documentation. The sound effect works just fine when i open the HTML file in my browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefor) locally from my hard disk. But when I FTP the SWF and updated index.html to my web host, it is silent. Is this because the MP3's are "linkeded" and not "embedded" and hence have to be FTP'd along with the edited index.html and the SWF? If so, does anyone know a workaround?

Thank you so much! My suspicions were correct in that the MP3 indeed was "linked" and not "embedded" and therefore the MP3 had to be physically uploaded, in some fashion, along with the SWF and index.html. I did search the HTML and found no reference to the MP3 in the HTML text so I guessed that the reference was somewhere in the SWF. Rather stupidly i did not look for a subfolder with the MP3 in it on my hard drive. I am brand new to InDesign but, having worked on complex projects for a long time, I set up a folder for the project and a subfoder for each element so that i could bring each element up to a certain level of development (with Photshop and Photoscape and etc) before pasting them into InDesign. Consequently, I have a LOT of subfolders. When you asked about the "resource" folder, I said to myself, "Self, duh?" and when I looked closely, sure enought there was a very clearly marked "resources" (that I did not create...duh! again!) folder with the MP3 in it. But alas, as before, the particular web hosting site I chose would not let me upload a file with a .mp3 extension. I assume that's because they don't want to take the chance of being sued by the RIAA for hosting pirated copyrighted material. Can't say that I blame them, frankly. So i tried a rather simple-minded dodge: I renamed the MP3 with a .txt extension whereupon it (and the resources folder) FTP'd just fine. But when I tried to re-name them to MP3s on the site, no joy. Now I had scoured the InDesign documenation and found a lot stuff relating to MP3s in InDesign PDF save as's but not anything at all about SWF save as's. But after experimenting with the menu command for a while with other audio formats, I strongly suspect that the only sound file you can link into an InDesign project destined to be saved-as a SWF are MP3s. Is that true or will InDesign link some other audio format that may or may not get by my web site? (I have already tried a FLV with just the MP3 but no video and all I got for my troubles was a black video popping up when pages are turned. UGH!) If the MP3 thing is hopeless and there is no work-around that will get past my site's blocking, then I will simply hunt around until I find another site that will allow me to FTP MP3s. This only works with "external" pop ups.
The sugggestion to restore auto complete comes from within Windows. A pop up killer wouldn't disable it.
The windows that pops up is telling me that I have auto complete currently turned off. Would I like to turn it back on ?
The answer is no, otherwise I wouldn't have turned it off in the first place.
What I would now like to do is get to the registry value that triggers this window and either change it or remove it altogether.

How to use page loading.htm of standard BSP htmlb_samples .

I am calling an RFC in the OnCreate event of one BSP page , so it takes a bit longer to load and a blank page is shown till the layout is executed.
I would like like to show Loading.... effect page , instead of the blank page , till the main page layout is executed.
I read in a [thread|Loading Message] that we can use the loading.htm page of htmlb_samples application for this.
I tried as described in this thread , but after the loading page the application dosent navigates to the main page.
So how to navigate from loading page to Main page of application?
Any other ideas for showing Loading effect page will also help.

From 1st veiw(Initial page) navigate it to the intermediate(Loading.htm) page then from this page navigate it to the second view(Main.htm).
In the intermeidate page you can use javascript and navigate it to the second page(Main.htm).
In a function of javascript put the code of re-directing Url and call this function in the onload event of the body tag in html.
window.location("url").
What happens is when the loading page gets called then, it will inturn call the main.htm page. So till the main.htm page comes the loading icon will be displayed.

Page loads, sound plays; prefer page loads, sound not play

Insert>Media>Plug in
I select a sound file, OK.
When I publish the page, it even puts a play/stop controller.
BUT the sound plays when the page loads, instead of waiting
for some one to hit "play". I want no sound until some one
hits "play". (I dont want a new page to open, just play
in the web page Also, the page wants to use quick time player.
Is that necessary? Is there a better way?

How to disable "Page Expired " dialog

I have a problem about session expire. in my web application while time inactive (no request, no access) then "The page has expired" dialog on browser. how to disable the message dialog. dialog title is "Page expired".

Thats correct the page expired warning does not come when the value is set to 0.
But , if you remove the page expire warning message by setting the warning value to 0 .The expired page stays there and it the user does a ppr on that expired page he will get an ugly java exception message in popup. If the user does an action which causes a full page refresh there wont be a problem but ppr causes exception in popup like Error in ppr#36 java.lang.NullPointerException.
If you want to handle that scenario you would need to override ADF Exception Handler http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/extending_the_adf_controller_exception_handler and redirect to error page rather than show an exception in popup. Additionally, if you notice in the custom exception handler when such an view expired exception occurs the message of exception contains ADF_FACES-30108 . So you can check the message and redirect to a custom view expired page.

I need to make cueable music and sound effects for a play I am producing. I wonder if I can do this with FCE. The effects need to be on separate tracks on a CD so that the guy running the show can skip to the next track and push play. Help!

I find the sound effects of the camera annoying. Turning down the volume of notifications, media, or alarms does nothing to disable them. Not even plugging a dummy headphone jack will silence them.

Digital camera's do have a sounds when a picture is being taken but this noise isn't artificial like in mobile phones it is the shutter mechanism. Some digital camera's shutter makes a low or no noise but they do have a beep to give an indication that a picture is being taken. In countries where this is compulsory by law it should give some indication that a picture is being taken.
Also please take into account one device is a phone and the other a dedicated camera.

How do i extend a sound-effect clip???

Just wanted to find out how can i extend the durarion of a sound-effect clip that i imported into F.C.P. The clip can't extend past 10 sec, so I thought the best way to do it is to loop it but i don't know how.

I have already done that. I put several duplicates of the same clip in a row, but there's a clear break between each clip. For example, the sound-effect clip is rain; so if i copy, paste it and put it after the original you can hear the break between the clips.
There's a way to fix that, i know, by putting audio cross fades between each clip, which works, but as you can tell is a hassle.
I just thought there's was a much easier and faster way of looping the short clip so that you can constantly hear it (without any breaks) for a longer period of time.

How do I adjust the sound effects?

I've inserted a sound effect (typewriting) in my slideshow and I'd like to lengthen the duration to match the duration of the title (it's letters typing across the screen).
When I move the cursor to the end of the typewriting sound effect and try to drag it to lengthen it... it doesn't move.
Are the sound effect clips fixed? Can I not lengthen them to match the duration of the visual clip (title)?

Depending on the type of music, it is often possible to patch in a small segment of a copy of the song - use copy and paste method. The 'patch' can be trimmed accurately to fit the beat. More difficult perhaps with singing than with instrumental tracks.

How to disable automatic loading of iView/Page in detailed navigation?

We've upgraded our portal 7.0 from SP9 to SP12.
I've noticed that SAP have added this change: Whenever a user is navigating between one role/tab to another in the top level navigation the first folder at the detailed navigation is automatically opened and the first content there is automatically loaded.
I would like to disable this option - I've looked at the new properties that have been added to the detailed navigation iView between SP9 and SP12 and could only find these two: Display Parent of Hidden Node and Open Folder When Launched.
These two are not solving this problem and they are disabled anyway.
Any ideas...?

Role and Workset Hierarchy:
Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.
