Itunes 8 is Pink!

Hi all , after upgrading itunes to the 8.0
The background of Itunes is Pink! Is it a bug or what???
Thanks

There is a God in heaven!!!!
I love all of you. The previous v. of iTunes quit letting me upload cds to my library and I was told it was a bug so to download iTunes 8. When I did my computer locked up while loading the genius bar, and this happened. My friend is a Genius at an Apple store but he & his co-workers kept saying just to uninstall and reinstall it. I was so afraid to lose all of my family's libraries that I was on the verge of crying/smashing my computer. I tried this, it works. And now that it is 1 in the morning I can study for my 3 exams tomorrow.

  • ITunes grid pink?

    Hi,
I am suddenly experiencing this pink color on the App icons in iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you so much!
    Philip

You are welcome. It is different.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
You may/will have to enter iTunes settings again, so note them before starting.
    Quit the application.
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences/ for the .plist. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
If that doesn't work, try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application uninstaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Itunes still pink & green in 32bit colour

    Hi,
I recently installed a new graphics card whch seems to work great but it has affected Itunes. I am getting the pink / green affect on videos, some album covers and the store screen. I have made sure I am running 32bit colour but it doesnt seem to work still.
The problem doesnt happen in anyhting else, even quicktime plays videos fine.
I have updated all drivers, tried a reinstall and everything else I can think of.
Any one out there with any ideas?
    Thanks

well... it appears that it's not a monitor issue... these are the steps i've taken so far, and they all result in either the machine booting up with the colored lines, or a clean looking bootup, but as soon as i open a menu, or move a window, the artifacts appearl.
1 - performed a clean install of OSX on the machine with all of the new updates.
2 - reseated all of the paired RAM chips (both apple and non-apple) into the slots they originally occupied, and tried moving them around.
3 - booted the machine with the original 512MB that the G5 came with
4 - reseated the video card, as well as the monitor cord into the ADC port.
5 - reset the NVRAM and PMU
6 - plugged in a non-apple monitor into the DVI port on the ATI video card (still gives me pink lines).
I just checked my warranty status online, and my 3-year applecare just expired a month ago (6 January). Would it be worth it to haul the machine over to the nearest Apple store, or should I first try buying a replacement video card on my own for this machine? (My CinemaDisplay is one of the ADC models).
Grr.... 3 years without a problem, and now this.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • ITunes is Pink

So I opened up my iTunes and this list is all pink and it won't show the cover flow. I didn't do anything to it. Can someone help me?

Make sure that in your Display Settings colour is set to 32 bit. See this link for details: iTunes - Pink iTunes window under iTunes XP/Vista

  • ITunes is pink under Remote Desktop

    I can't change my remote desktop to 32-bit, it's locked to 16-bit.
I have a headless media computer hooked up to my main AV rack, I remote desktop into it to do any configuration needed. It's really jarring to see the hot-pink iTunes staring at me when I sync my iPhone and iPod.

  • ITunes Turned Pink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When connecting my Nano Video and opening iTunes, the summary etc. sections have turned pink. iTunes works fine its just annoying that its pink instead of white. Everything else in my computer is fine only iTunes.

I must strongly agree with you!
I have been using iTunes 6 for years, using MS Remote Desktop to control iTunes on an XP box as a "jukebox" via my Macs, and with several XPe tablets. No reason to waste a Mac just to play music, and there is no RDC Server for Macs anyway. RealVNC is just too slow.
I only upgraded to iTunes V8 to use the new Apple remote on my iPhone.
I am very unhappy about the rediculous requirement to use 32 bit color setting to run iTunes.
Now ALL of my RDC clients look a crappy shade of pink, even on my XPe client tablets. You cannot run MS RDC in 32 bit color unless you use Vista (no way I am installing that turkey), or Server 2003, which is overkill for a music server.
    Apple are you listening?
Please, just make an option for a 16 bit palette in iTunes!!!!
I don't care about cover flow, or anything other than the main browser panel when running iTunes as a remote jukebox!!
Since this issue is affecting all of my clients, I may just have to uninstall iTunes V8, and reinstall iTunes V6... which is a way simpler and less bloated app anyway... and just forget about my iPhone remote client.
I really hate it when features are hoisted on end-users, requiring changing everything.
You should be able to disable or tune off eye candy crap like cover flow, or Genius or at least offer a scaled down host version of iTunes for remote applications.
They have totally ruined my whole Jukebox setup with this damned 32 bit requirement!!!
    Nice going.

  • Itunes turning pink?

Whenever i hook my ipod up to my computer, my itunes turns to a pink color on the screen where it had the tabs for summary, music, video, etc. Does anyone know why this is?

Its because when u downloaded the new itunes it changes you color Schemes in windows to 16 bits, just go to you desktop, right click, properties, settings and put it on 32 bits.

  • ITunes has pink colouring

I know this has been discussed before and the solution settled on is don't put more than 5 rows, but has anyone found a solution to the pink film that appears after increasing the number of rows to greater than 6 with the iTunes screen saver?

The problem was fixed for me, and everyone else who has reported on the old threads, with the 10.5.2 update. I currently have it set for 6 rows and it is working perfectly.
Do you have a test account on your machine? If not create one in System Preferences/Accounts, then log into the test account. Does the iTunes Screensaver work in the test account? If not, you might try downloading the full 10.5.2 COMBO update (all 380 odd MBs) and run that.

  • ITunes Screensaver Pink Covers.

    Hey
When I add more rows in the iTunes screensaver most of the covers turn pink. But only when I add more rows. Is there a fix? or is it because I added more rows and it needs the resources?
    Please any help?

hmm that is weird i just tried it again and when you do the test from system prefs it does have some singles and then alot in the rows as pinkish
when i did it by just waiting for the screensaver to come on, some of the individual pictures were pinkish but all in the rows were ok even if they came up as pink in the individual bit!
i may have missed them tho ;-]
but it does seem like this is a bit of a bug maybe they will fix in 10.5.2
thanks for pointing me in the direction of that screen saver tho ive had a mac for a while and never seen that option (duh) good for parties when you dont really want the psychedelia of the visualizer or the soberness of front row

  • Why is my iTunes Flashing Pink?

Very odd occurence - whenever I launch iTunes, it's flashing pink and purple in different sections, but is mostly pink... I didn't worry about it last week as I noticed Pink had a new album out, so I thought it was a dreadful promo turning iTunes pink for Pink's album!
However, it has continued to turn iTunes pink whenever I am visiting the iTunes store - just the store, none of the other menu options in the left sidebar lead to pink screens...
Anyone got any idea why this bizarre horro-disco-style-pinking is occuring?

Try changing the monitor's bitdepth to 32 bit from the Control Panel.

  • My Itunes is pink please HELP.

After installing Itunes I opened it and the library was pink. The Titles in the left hand column are all scribbled out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes twice and it still is doing this. I have no clue how to fix it....any ideas?

It's most likely your display settings not being set to show 32-bit color. See this Apple support article:

  • Enable "low color" mode in iTunes (no more Pink)

I use iTunes on a PC w/ Remote Desktop so I can control the music library from other computers in my house.
iTunes used to work great, now it requires 32-bit color.
Apple, can you add a preference to run in low-color mode and not turn pink?
    Thanks,
    Joe

Finally found a way to get more colors on a Windows XP host computer using Remote Desktop.
    http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/10/remote-desktop-video-32-bit-mode.html
You need to enable 24-bit color (max possible under XP as a host) using group policy.
iTunes is Pink no more in remote sessions.

  • ITunes LP - How can I return to the LP content while playing?

The other day I bought an iTunes LP (Pink Floyd - The Wall) which contains quite a lot of nice extra material. My problem is that to access that content you must start playing the album from the top, even if it's already playing.
What I do is that I find the album in my library, usually by navigating in the Artists view. When I found the album I start the playback by clicking on the "Play iTunes LP" button below the album name. This opens up the iTunes LP content and to start the music I click on the "Play LP" text. All is fine even if I for some reason leaves the iTunes LP content (by clicking the "x" in the upper left corner) which brings me back to the library. The music keeps playing, which is what I would expect.
Now the problem comes: How do I get back to the iTunes LP - without having to restart the music from the first song?
As soon as once again click the "Play iTunes LP" button in the library, the playback stops and I have to again click the "Play LP" text which starts the album from the top. I would expect that if the album was actually playing, the playback would not stop.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there any other way to get back to the iTunes LP content without starting from the beginning?
I'm using iTunes 11.0.5 on my iMac.

Index Values, I think, is the property you are looking for.  Set the index to 0 to be at the top.

  • I need help with the sync and the new update.

I have had 3 new updates recently. I'm now into iTunes 8.1-8.6 or something. I've got two problems that I can't find answers for in the help.
First off, The new iTunes is pink with a black side-bar. I was wondering if there is a way to change it back to white and gray.
Next, when I plug my iPod into the coputer, it says that it has detected the iPod, but can't read it. It then tells me to unplug it and try again. I have done this over 300 times, over two months. It dosn't work. My iPod still dosn't read, and I now have almost twice as many songs on iTunes, as I do on my iPod.
    Please help.

My computer tells me iTunes 8.0 is the most current version. I'll assume that's what you're running, but you can check by opening iTunes and going to Help > About iTunes.
You can resolve the color issue by:
    Open your Control Panel
Click "Switch to Classic View" on the left
    Open the Display icon
    Choose the Settings tab
Move your color settings to highest: 32-bit
Regarding the iPod error... what type of iPod is it?

  • Sorting/Compilation question

I've looked through previous posts on this topic and don't see one addressed to this specific question: Why does iTunes (I've got 7.0.2) assign music to the Compliations folder that really isn't a compilation?
I've been trying to build separate libraries of music -- one of aac files, for the iPod, and one of aiff files, for playing music through the computer -- and iTunes seems to make this a difficult task. Case in point: Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, a 2-disc release -- iTunes assigns disc 1 to iTunes Music > Pink Floyd > Ummagumma, but sticks disc 2 into iTunes Music > Compilations > Ummagumma.
It's a rip of a CD I own, and imported as aiff and then converted to aac. I used the latter to load on to the iPod, but kept the larger files because I can hear the difference between compressed and non-compressed music in my home stereo. But come to look at how these are filed, I've got nearly three dozen albums under "Compilations," two-thirds of which are by a single artist or group. I can understand albums that would feature multiple artists, but why does iTunes separate out the others?
