Itunes 8 not working with my ipod
i just installed iTunes 8 and it won't recognize my 2nd generation iPod. What can I do to fix this
You can use two or more iPods on one computer. There are a couple of methods. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Why does itunes 7 not work with my ipod!?
I am able to oberlook the fact that whenever i plug my 60 gb ipod colour into a pc it doesnt work, and often messes up the pc.
But why do i now find that when i plug it into my own pc it wont work with itunes 7, when i googled this problem it seemed ALOT of other people have similar problems, if this is true why has nothing been done??? and why did apple even release this version of itunes if it doesnt work?!

I have tried installing older versions of itunes but my ipod just wont work with them, and when i try to restore it it says that my ipod cannot be restored or isnt supported by this application.
I cannot be the only person to think that someone seriously dropped the ball here.
Please help!I've also tried uninstalling iTunes and everything iPod related - then reinstalled everything...still my iPod will not connect to iTunes. Oh and by-the-way, uninstalling iTunes (suck-eggs) 7.0 and then installing iTunes 6.0 will not work because once you install the SUCK-EGGS version, an older version can not read the libraries and therefore can not open! Who said Apple doesn't create PC-like operational blackholes?!?!? Someone please help! I'm gonna call Apple...I'll keep you posted.

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

what do you do when you can't sync your ipod and it tells you that itunes is not compatible with your ipod?
Upgrade to the newest version of iTunes first to see if that helps.

I have an iPod Touch and an iPad4. iTunes recognises both items and lets me work with the iPod Touch but won't work with the iPad. In fact iTunes does not respond to clicking on anything in the iPad window even though it knows that it's connected. Any ideas?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99. Likely not worth it for a your iPod. They do not fix yours.

Why does Apogee Jam not work with the Ipod Touch 4G
Hi,
I have a Apogge Jam an it works fine with my Mac Book, but it does not seem to be compatible with my Ipod Touch 4g.
Only the Gibbson L&M app recognize the Apogee Jam, but no other App (Ampkit, ....) :-((
With the IPhone 4 it shall work, can tell me anybody why Apogee Jam is not compatible with the Ipod Touch 4g (
although the Gibson-App works)?
Is there perhaps still other Apps which work with the Ipod Touch and Apogge Jam?

MichaelI cannot answer the specifics, but I would guess it is a software issue because Griffin iTalk app will cooperate with the Apogee JAM on an iPod Touch 4g running iOS5. If this app can do it, then one would presume the other apps could be updated to do it also.
From last week up until yesterday, Apogee actually listed the 4G Touch as a compatible device with the JAM.
Apparently there was some confusion about Garageband now supporting iPod Touch and its functionality with JAM. -

ITunes not working with new iPod
After recently getting a new iPod, I cant get it to work.
The problem is no tin the iPod, Im sure of that. The problem occurs with any iPod on the system.
The problem is that when the iPod is plugged in, it recognizes it, but not as an iPod. At first we thought it was because of other USB devices on the computer, and removed them. One of the devices was an external hard drive, which has all of my iTunes music on it. We moved the external drive to a different networked computer, and made it a network folder. That way we can access all of our iTunes music from a different computer.
That works very well...All of our music can play fine, but the iPod is still not recognized. It says that the firmware on the iPod is corrupt, and asks if we want to restore it. Click yes, and we get error 1418.
How do we fix this?hmmmmm. you're not getting the classical symptoms of the following issue. but since the PC is networked to other drives, we'd better check on the possibility from the following document:

I'm using iPod 4th Gen iOS 6.1.3 and an iMac with 11.3 .. All latest versions. I have 23.4gb music according to the file but when I attached the iPod the bar at the foot of the page says 18.3gb. Some tracks are missing. Most if not all have been ripped from cd's into iTunes which is creating AAC format for each track. Other tracks play fine, some show the song but not the Artist and vice versa.
I have tried dragging the tracks from the Mac library to the IPod music file..nothing. So I go to Safari, type the question in and read the same problems over.. Are Apple aware of their Tutorials without troubleshooting pages ? Do they care?
My Pioneer DDJ/T1 is set up with Traktor and only wants to work with iTunes.. So iTunes are edging themselves in everywhere for everything... But it's still not working as it should..

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again -

I have an Ipod Video that I bought about 3 months ago.
I allready had songs on it from another computer in another country actually.
Now when I plug my Ipod in, my Itunes does not find it or whatever because it doesn't syncronizeHi Moria, thanks for trying to help but the article suggests the following:
Outdated OS software - definitely not, only bought the computer on Wednesday and it keeps itself updated.
Computer needs updates - I have tried manually updating everything but apparently everything is totally up to date.
Software interference - well that could be anything. But it was working OK up until yesterday and I haven't installed anything new since then.
Damaged files - could well be the case but out of 2000 songs in my Music folder, how can I possibly tell which one is corrupted?
Unregistered .dll files - Have already tried restoring the iPod, which was a big mistake because now all my songs are gone off it and I still can't sync!
Damaged disk structure - well it's a brand new computer and everything else is working OK, have performed diagnostics and all that, so I don't think this can be the problem.
Corrupt iPod photo cache - the Photos actually sync fine, it's just the music that I have trouble with.
Lost connection - definitely not the problem.
Conflict with third party hardware - nothing else attached to my computer.
Bad hardware - Everything else works perfectly in my USB ports, so I don't think this can possibly be the problem.

When will iTunes support advanced 64 bit operating systems...
Would seem that a next generation phone would work with the next generation of operating systems...iTunes does work with vista 64 bit. I can sync my iPod with it. It's the 'Apple Mobile Device Support' portion that is required by the iPhone that isn't working.

If you are planning on installing Windows VISTA than do not expect your iTunes to work. It will mark all our downloads as being unauthorized to play on the Windows VISTA computer. If you try to download some new songs you will get an error. I am working with version 7.0.2 - the newest version at this time. So, beware - do not expect iTunes to work with Windows VISTA.

Original message posted about a week ago - I have an iMac, OS is 10.4.11. I just updated my Quicktime software to 7.5, I also updated my iTunes to 8.2.1 (I think, it is definitely higher than 8.0). When I would open up iTunes. I would get this message. (We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later). This was happening before I did the current downloads. I had no trouble about 3-4 weeks ago. I was able to get into the iTunes store and download song. I am pretty annoyed to say the least. Apple makes it so difficult to get information, unless you do endless searches. Trying to contact customer service is a whole other nightmare. They offer this software for free, yet they want you to pay for everything. As you can imagine, I am not happy and venting is helping. So I am hoping there are some other people out there with similar problems who can help. Nothing has been changed or altered on my computer. I have no problem connecting to the internet. No passwords or ID's have been changed. As mentioned I updated my software to the highest, most current software available that my operating system can handle. Updated message 12/9/10 - I updated my iTunes version to 9.2.1. Now my iTunes will not open. When I do try to open it, It says that this program will only work with G4, and G5 processors. I don't know what to do. I can't afford a new computer right now. Any suggestions???? PLEASE HELP!!I am so frustrated!!!
