ITunes 8 + OS 10.5.7 NOT Compatible??
There seems to be a pattern appearing here in the posts on numerous threads relating to iTunes 8 AND OS 10.5.7.
Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 8.2 on my MacBookPro running OS 10.5.7, I can no longer play any of the movies or tv shows I downloaded before AND after the upgrade to 8.2.
_This problem with iTunes 8.2 is ONLY on my Mac with OS 10.5.7_ and NOT with my Mac with OS 10.4.11.
It also appears that a ton of people on this thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2008366&tstart=0) *who have _+*OS 10.5.7*+_ and upgraded to iTunes8 are having all sorts of problems.
Anyone at Apple reading this threads?
Lisa
B. Bruce Brinson:
I took a quick look at the "+Media Kind+" setting in the +Options tab+ of the +Get Info+ for my movies, however, the Media Kind for all my movies, tv shows and music are all correct.
*We Still need to bombard and re-bombard Apple with our FEEDBACK at the iTunes FEEDBACK EMAIL PAGE:*
http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
NOTE: +At the iTunes FEEDBACK page, the bummer is that in the _Pulldown Menu for the selection of which version of iTunes you're using, it only goes as recent as version 8.1_ -- so, _in your written feedback, make sure to mention that you're SPECIFICALLY talking about iTunes Version 8.2_ BUT that you had NO CHOICE but to select 8.1 from their pulldown menu because Apple didn't provide anything beyond 8.1.+
_Bottom Line_: iTunes 8.2 is NOT digging 10.5.7

When I try to download 'Pages' from iTunes, an error displays 'Application Not Compatible. This application requires iPhone 5.0 Software Update' WHY? This keeps happening.
I sounds like you have the first generation (1G) iPod Touch with an iOS earlier than 2.0, Yu can identify your ipod here:
Identifying iPod models
You can identify your iOS version by going to Settings>General>About and look by Version. Yu can update ti iOS 3.1.3 (the lated for the 1G) by this link. It is a paid update. You may have to try another browser to get he sublink to work correctly.
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
What computer OS and version do you have and what version of iTunes is installed on the computer? -
I updated my iPhone 3G today and after the update it said on iTunes that my sim was not compatible and my iPhone screen went on to slide for emergency/connect to itunes. Ive tried restoring it but it hasnt worked. Please help!
Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.

first i used the itunes method of updating, but it keeped showing error 9006. then i read somewhere on the internet that downloading the update solitary and placing it in this directory will solve the problem:
(on windows: user/AppData/Roaming/apple computer/itunes/iphone software update)
but after that when i open the itunes, instead of automatically detecting the update (to which i was promised on all the stuff i read about error 9006) it just doesnt do anything. and when i hold SHIFT and click RESTORE, it just says: "the iphone could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible"
i really appreciate it if someone would help me...:)thanksJust to confirm is your iPhone jailbroken?. Now in terms of error 9006 in the article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 it says this:
Errors related to third-party security software
Error 2, 4 (or -4), 6, 1000, 9006
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps underAdvanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations.

Itunes - airport express - remote speaker not compatible?
Airport Express unit (AX) connects to my network and verified to be connected to the network just fine...but on itunes (v. 7.4.2.4) on my desktop (Dell Dim E510 with wireless, Windows XP, Linksys router WRT350N with AX for airtunes)...when I switch speaker to the AX/stereo unit, comes back with message - "the remote speaker xxx is not compatible with this version of itunes"... I've battled this issue for a long time -- any idea what is the problem?
OK I got it working again. I'm not sure exactly what did the trick, but I'd recommend the following:
1. Repair your wireless modem connection via your taskbar (rick-click on the Wireless Network Connection, Repair)
2. Start itunes while the Airport Express Setup Assistant is running
3. Restart your computer
4. Keep trying, after 2 days it's working again (???) -
ITunes & Apple Mobile Device Driver Not Compatible w/ Windows 64bit Systems
In short, I spent over 2 hours on the phone tonight with Apple Support. The call was elevated to a software engineer. After several minutes he apologigized and state the Apple Mobile Device Driver is not compatible with Windows 64Bit systems.
Therefore I can't activate or do anything for that matter. I effectivly have a $600 paper weight. I asked the engineer if they have any intention fixing it and never received a direct response.
None of the documentation that I have found states 64bit Operating Systems are not supported. The support rep stated nor he or his collegues were unware the mobile device driver didn't support 64 bit OSs either. I consider this to be really misleading and a huge oversight on Apple's part.
I wrapped up the call by asking him how I go about returning the device without being struck by the 10% restocking fee. He didn't know.
Anyone have Steve's number? I sure would be nice to get at the minimum a full refund.
I just thought everyone else should know so you don't tie up support lines and waste your time trying to find a resolution.
Regards,
KSPadOMG same thing here; rather annoyed and now have set up accounts on 2 comps(both 64 vista ultimate); about to try my 32 bit vista on my lappy; we'll see... i don;t have high hopes thoush.
What i knew about iPhone before buying it:
What You Need
To use iPhone, you need:
A new two-year wireless service plan with AT&T
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
An iTunes Store account
An Internet connection
You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a
major credit card to open a new iTunes Store account.
Yeahyeah check all that stuff;
Oh well; just when i thought i'd finally cross over to the beautiful packaging of APPLE. I remember in design school that form follows function. Thanks.

Hi...
I'm trying to erase the restored backup on my MacBook Pro that was meant for my iPhone 5... I found out the software is corrupted and continued to affect my phone. Where do I find it And how do I erase it to start all over?
On a Mac your backups are in /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
(Open Finder, hold the Option key, and select "Library" from the Go menu to get to your user's Library folder.)
In Windows, the fastest way to get to your backup folders is:
- (Windows 7 and below) Start -> Run -> type %appdata% (with the percents) and press return.
- (Windows 8) Search -> type %appdata% (with the percents) and press return.
From Application Data, navigate to Apple Computer, Inc. -> MobileSync -> Backup.
You can match your device identifier with the backup folder name by clicking on the Serial Number field in iTunes (which will switch it to your device identifier.) Delete (or rename, if you're worried about making a mistake) the folder with the matching identifier.
I know this thread is about a corrupt backup blocking updating the backup process, but in case anyone is having a corrupt backup blocking a restore (a much scarier problem,) and you don't have the original device/data to make a new backup, I hope you'll take a look at the information I've been writing about fixing backups on my company's blog:
http://deciphertools.com/blog/2014_07_11_itunes_could_not_restore_backup_corrupt /
We have been looking at fixing the corrupted backups, which may be helpful for you!
(Note: As I mentioned, I work for the company I'm linking to above, so I stand to benefit, either financially or otherwise, from the links I'm recommending.) -

Can't open Itunes. Update states system not compatible with leopard 10.5.8
I was trying to sync music to my Iphone through my Computer, Mac 0S X Leopard version 10.5.8. Couldn't open iTunes. There was a update for iTunes and I downloaded it but before it could be loaded to my computer, it said my operating system needed to be 10.6.8. Where and what should I be looking for to update iTunes on my computer?
GregGreg,
If you can update your computer to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 that would be the smartest thing to do. Otherwise you can restore an earlier version of iTunes from your Time Machine backup. You can purchase Snow Leopard from Apple's online store for $20 and then use the 10.6.8 Combo Update to get the most up-to-date version of SL. You can find that download at:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Before doing ANY update make sure you have have backed up your system using Time Machine or create a bootable clone onto an external HD using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. -

Make sure your iTunes version is version 12. if it is and still doesn't work, reinstall itunes from this installer: iTunes
Make sure you have a Time Machine backup, but you shouldn't lose your library by reinstalling iTunes. -

What program do you run?
Please contact the software provider to confirm if this 32-bit program can run in 64-bit Windows.
As some programs can only run in specific version of Windows, please download the right version of software.
Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
Device drivers designed for the 32-bit version of Windows don't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows too.

How do I change fonts and print size on webpages?
Webpages appear in very small print and print out very small -- too small to even read. These are websites I've accessed many times for bill paying, etc., and had no problem previously. How can I change the print size to the normal size?
