Itunes 8 suspend playing while downloading

Hi,
I´ve the problem if I hear music over itunes 8 and airport express, the audio stream suspend if I start an download and resume if the download is finished. There is no error code or someting like that to isolate the failure.
My gear: Macbook Air 10.5.5 and airport express (the non N version) with the last firmware. The firewall is disabled.
A downgrade to itunes 7 is also not possible because the database from itunes 8 wasn´t readable under itunes 7, different version state.
So is there anybody who got the same error? Thanks for an answer.
Cheers
Tapps

I have seen a few posts here and at Macworld about iTunes 8 stopping after playing a single song. I just tried this with shuffle enabled and disabled (sequential playback) and encountered no such problem. This appears to be a bug affecting a few users. Unless you wish to play songs in sequence, Party Shuffle is actually what should be used to playback music in random order from playlists. I am actually surprised that Apple has not removed the redundancy.
Does the same problem persist when you use Party Shuffle?

The Settings>General>Software Update comes with iOS 5. The 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1

  • ITunes does not play music downloaded from match

Hope this is the correct location for this...

If i play songs downloaded from Match on the iPhone itself, it works fine.
iTunes is authroized, and signed in.
Songs that are hard synced (synced with device plugged into iTunes and not downloaded from Match directly to the device) work fine.
    Any ideas?

First of all make sure that you have the volume turned up with the control on the right side of the iPad. You play music in the Music App - not in iTunes. If you have the volume turned up and you are using the Music App - restart or rest the iPad and see if that helps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • ITunes won't play my downloads

Since updating to version 7.1.0.59 when I try to play a song I get the old "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." message, how do I fix this?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • ITunes 10.6 plays incomplete downloads - rental potential

Those with slow connections have been at the mercy of ATV2's poor memory management which wipes a part or whole rental when you try to do something else due to the limited solid state memory available.
One solution has been to rent in iTunes but traditionally it had to download fully before streaming.
I wonder if this has changed.
I just redownloaded a TV episode in 1080p (then it turned out it wasn't in 1080p at all), and within a few secs iTunes announced it was ready to play now or view later.
Potentially this might mean it would be available for streaming to AppleTV2 or 3, but I've not tried and of course it might not work.
Downside again is the ludicrous state of affairs where many HD rentals are not available directly in itunes only on iOS devices.

  • 10.8.5 ITUNES WILL NOT PLAY MOVIES DOWNLOADED FROM ITUNES

Downloaded the new iTunes last night and it seems to work well with music but it will not play movies I've downloaded from the iTunes store. The sore works, Radio works, I can buy from the store but movies I have from iTunes (Star Trek, The Incredibles, ST: Into Darkeness among others) strat then crash. I get a message about an error with a plug in (FX I think) that has failed or is not found.
Anybody else seeing this? Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

Okay, I think I found my problem. I have SRS iWOw installed and the FX plugin is part of that. If I disable iWow all movies play as they are supposed to.
Looks like I need to contact SRS for an update/upgrade or dump it and find another sound enhancer app.
    Thanks fo looking.

  • Movies stop playing while downloading

This is getting very bad - I bought this in the hopes that I could just click and rent.
I have an extremely high speed 50mbps Fibre Optic connection, and if I rent even a non HD movie on the atv2, it stops after 10 mins and doesn't resume.
I then have to press menu and press play. It starts instantly then. This only works for about 10 times, and then I cant resume at all.
Anyone with advice? Of course I have tried rebooting the device, restarting my Router etc. By the way my atv2 has ethernet cable directly to the router.
    Thanks.

I have a similar problem, I had to uninstall and then re-install itunes because it kept messing up on me and when I reinstalled it, my digital movies stopped working. All my songs work fine and my movies are still stored in the library, but they won't open. I just get a black screen with no sound and it doesn't play.
Does anyone have an answer to this? I'm new to this site and tried to create a new thread asking about this but can't seem to find a button/link on these forum pages to let me do that.

  • HT201210 Ipod won't connect to Itunes. Had error while downloading newest update on IOS6

I was updating the newest version on IOS 6 on my ipod touch. An error occured and it stated it could not update. Now my ipod screen only shows the "connect to Itunes" picture, but it will not show up on itunes for me to reset or anything.

Withur knowing what the error message said,
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • ITunes Store freeze while downloading and now permanent problems

I bought an album through the iTunes Store today, and while downloading, iTunes completely froze. Not sure how that freeze was caused, could be that I was using up a little too many system resources with other stuff running in the background.
In any case, the album was only partially downloaded, so when I restarted iTunes I used the "search for available downloads" option to succesfully download the rest of the album, or so I thought. Turns out it did download all songss except for one, and that one doesn't show up anymore when I retry the "available downloads" option.
Strangely, whenever I now select one of the other songs from the same album in my library, iTunes completely freezes! I can only get it working again by stopping the process through taskmanager and restarting. This only occurs when the Genius-bar is shown, so it looks like looking up these songs through the iTunes store is causing a problem somehow. Does anyone have any ideas to
    a) get the missing song from the store and
    b) keep iTunes from crashing??
Is there a way to deinstall and reinstall iTunes without losing my settings, iPhone backups and library? Or can I repair an installed version somehow?
(I have the most recent iTunes version (8.0.1.11), running on WinXP SP3 - oh and it did synch the incomplete album to my iPhone and I can play the songs without problems on that)

Deleting the album, reinstalling iTunes and then re-downloading the album turned out to be the way to fix it.

Something like this happened to me, where something went wrong on Apple's end and a movie I rented wouldn't play. I contacted Apple over the phone and they gave me back my money and fixed the problem for future use.

Yes, if the movie has been downloaded to the iPad, then you can watch it without Wi-Fi.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • After i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on.
