ITunes 9.0.1 - Back to Black Background Answer

I have a mod to allow people to get iTunes back to the black background in album view.
http://lucien1.deviantart.com/art/iTunes-9-0-1-Back-to-Black-139224536
You can also read about the way it was developed on the Mac Themes Forum:
http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16799545
It was initially restricted to Tiger users, but Leopard and Snow Leopard users will now be able to use the modification by following the instructions provided with the zip file. Hope this brings some smiles back to those who can't stand the retina burning white.
Enjoy

You might want to check that your certificate that you made has been applied to iTunes.app
try this code in Terminal"
codesign -dvvvv /Application/iTunes.app
Does the name on the certificate match the one you created?

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this.  If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode.  If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it.  It is freeware and used to help maintain your system.  Good luck

  • Why did iTunes suddenly become white font on black background?

For no reason I can ascertain, my iTunes window suddenly became white font on black background, VERY difficult to see!
    Help, please!!!

Figured it out, fixed it. In app Onyx, I had checked, in the iTunes file, "High Contrast". I unchecked that and everything is back to normal - black on white. Hope this message gets around to others writing about this.

Also, what is the "other" when you are syncing an ipad in itunes and in my case the other is more than half of my 64Gb. How do I find out what it is and then get rid of it if I want to?
    Thanks

    Hi gramie47,
Sorry to hear that didn't resolve the issue.
I checked online for issues printing from the Internet, found a couple of things you can try. Most likely it is a setting that needs to be changed in the browser settings, since the printer prints fine from the computer.
From Internet Explorer, go to File, Page setup, Remove check from "Printer background color and images" if checked, or vise versa, to see if that helps.

  • How can i change my background color in "albums" mode back to black in iTunes 11

how can i change my background color in albums mode back to black in iTunes 11?

Themes work in Thunderbird - duggabe was not refering to Firefox.
Another useful addon is theme and font changer:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
However, Thunderbird allows you to modify all sorts of things.
Make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    Click on 'show Folder' button
a window opens shwoing profile folder name
Close Thunderbird now - this is important
In the profile name folder, Create a new folder called '''chrome''' - note the spelling
It should be in the same place as the 'Mail' folder.
    see first image below.
    Open Notepad
Can be located : Start > Programs > accessories
Copy everything shown between the lines below.
    Paste into Notepad.
Save as '''userChrome.css''' - note the spelling (edit updated - this was a typo error)
This should be saved in the '''chrome''' folder.
    see second image below.
    Restart Thunderbird.
I have chosen a yellow for you
    <pre>
    #f6f58c = a yellow....it is a hex code for a colour.
    </pre>
You can change it if required. Remember when updating anything in the profile folders, you must close Thunderbird first.
    More info on colours.

i tried to install the latest update on my ipad. i get an image which says I tunes with a cord to plug in. it is on a black background.. it has been like this for three hours now. if i turn it off and then on again that is the only page that appears. i am stuck. please can anyone help me? thanks.

It's too bad you lost stuff. I would recommend that you back stuff up before the next one. For example, iOS8 will be out sometime this fall. Just in case you experience the same thing again, do a backup before you do the update.

  • Revert black background in iTunes to iTunes 8

    Hi ALL,
Is there a way that I can change to BLACK background (skin) in iTunes 10.
I can't see the arrows next to the songs and have to multiple click until it runs.
In iTunes 8 it was "Gray" is it possible to revert the black to gray.
    Thanks ...

    Hi Limnos,

  • Black background on iTunes U web view?

    Hi all,
I recently signed into Brown University's iTunes U and looked at the web view for our Around Brown collection (http://itunes.apple.com/us/itunes-u/around-brown/id381078601). For some reason, the background is black. On other collections, the background is white as always (e.g. http://itunes.apple.com/us/itunes-u/radio-open-source-christopher/id381080330).
How can we change this back?
    Thank you!

I agree with Natalia. With the black background, the body text, which is gray, is hard to read. This is especially true in the track listing area, where the background is actually a darker gray, a few shades lighter than the main background. The headers are fine since they are solid white.
Also, why black for video collections? It's not like you can watch the video on this page. Yet?.

  • My lock screen just shows a black background and a User Name/Password dialog after opening the screen from sleep. How do I get it back to where it blurs my desktop image with the dialog and my account image displayed?

I'm not sure when it began, but now my Macbook Air only shows a black background and a User Name and Password dialog box when I wake it from sleep. It used to show my desktop background blurred with my user name and icon displayed with only a text field for entering my password. I'm currently using Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and all updates have been done. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance since I couldn't find how to change it back in the System Preferences.

I just have to point out that after looking at a related post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22661092#22661092), it brought to memory that my issue most certainly began happening after I added some DoD certificates to the keychain. This obviously has something to do with it, but it still leaves me wondering what actually causes this to happen. :/

The new operating system (IOS 7) changed the background color of the Photos App (Camera Roll) from black to white.  How do I change the color back to black?

    You can't. Sorry.

You can tell apple that you'd like it and see if they respond....eventually. (you don't get responses from your feedback mails but they have been known to issue changes that users have asked for, such as the ability to mass delete apps)

  • ITunes 11 has black background with black text

I had previously set iTunes to use the dark grid theme. Now I've upgraded to itunes 11 but i'm stuck with cases where I have a black background and black text with no preferences option to fix it. (the same problem I had with the previous itunes version, even when i tried selecting a different theme it wouldn't change)
    examples include the downloads window
And views like album view that the text changes color based on the album art, and the background is supposed to too but mine doesn't, so sometimes the icons/text will be unreadable. Like the close, play, shuffle, etc buttons in the screen shot below.
I have tried retinstalling iTunes several times between 10.6 and 11 to fix various bugs but it's never worked properly.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Very Big thank you All of you for your help !!! It's been an hour that I didn't know what to do to see which songs to chooses because of the grey typo on black background !!! Merci
defaults write com.apple.iTunes high-contrast-mode-enable -bool FALSE
Enfin sauvée après une heure de galère à chercher partout comment changer la skin de itunes 11 alors que c'était en fait un bug d'affichage !!!

  • Black background and white letters?

Lion 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5 on a Mac Pro.
Everything has been fine until this morning when all of a sudden my background has changed color to black and the characters are white. I don't know what I did to cause this. More importantly, I don't have a clue on how to go back to a white background and black characters.
    Thanks for any help.

    Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. However, while doing this does change the background on iTunes, it also flips the all the other windows to a black background and white characters. The only app that has the black background is iTunes, everything else is fine.
