ITunes 9.0.2 64 in Win 7

Is there a driver update for ipods touch to connect to itunes in Win 7 64 bit systems? After updating and installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version my three brand new iPod touch are not recognized as a device in iTunes. They worked well in Windows Vista 64 bit.

If you have 4 or more GB of RAM and an nVidia chipset, LESAN, you might need to update your Microsoft Host Controller.
If you have one of the affected systems, you will find the Microsoft Host Controller Driver Update at the drivers and downloads page for your particular model of HP 6500f. For more information on this possibility, see the following post from the HP Support Forums:

  • Itunes 10.4.1 64bit for Win 7 can't find quicktime, QTCF.dll error -- HELP PLEASE!

Every time I install itunes 10.4.1 64bit for Win 7, it says it is unable to find quicktime, then instructs me to uninstall itunes then install it again. I've done this several times but still have the same problem. There is also another promt that says quicktime can't find the entry point and there's an error having to do with QTCF.dll ... what is this and how can I get my iTunes to work? Help please!

hi guys i found the solution from a wizard of the community and it works, so u may try as follows:-

Let's try a standalone QuickTime.msi update. It may not install correctly either, but fingers crossed at least the error messages we get from that install may better indicate the nature of the trouble with the QuickTime install.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the QuickTime.msi to do a standalone QuickTime.msi install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes install properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • TS1538 iTunes 10.6.1.7 and Win/Vista Not Recognizing iPhone 4S!!!

I bought my first iPhone which is a 4s two weeks ago, and the latest iTunes did not recognize it, while Win/Vista recognized it on the drop down list and as a camera.  The same iTunes was able to detect iPhone 4 which I bought for my family member.  I then connected iPhone 4s to iTunes under WinXP, and it worked fine, so I was totally confused.  I submitted the question to Apple iTunes Feedback, and did not receive any reply.
I have used iTunes many years with iPod and iTouch, and was happy with it, but this incident changes my perception of Apple completely!
Eventaully, I did more research on the web, and learnt during the iTunes installation, iTunes did not update the device or USB driver for iPhone 4s!!!  It was solved, under Win/Vista, by updating the device driver by pointing to the iTunes directory.  My conclusion is this has to be a bug of the iTunes installation process.
Very disappointed with Apple's lack of response.  I actually planned to switch to use Mac, but this experience or rather Apple's effort to rectify the problem has changed my attitude towards Apple completely.  It is a shame!  Or is this their tactic to encourage Win users to migrate to Apple Mac???

I too have only recently encountered this problem. I have been able to burn disks before but it keeps making all these weird sounds. It might be a hardware problem but the fact that everything else that uses a disk works I doubt it.

  • When i try to open the itunes store in itunes, windows closes it after not finding a solution for the problem.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Itunes software. I am running Win 7-with IE10-any help?

When I selected the Itunes store on my win PC today-the program was closed by windows with windows saying there was a problem. I tried a couple of times and then uninstalled the itunes software and reinstalled it with the same results. The program has always worked before but I have not used it recently since the Ipad now receives it's software updates right off the router. I am running Win 7 with IE10. Anyone with the same problem?

My post has been viewed 24 times, and yet have had no answers. I have always like adobe products, however if this is the type of support they offer, I will never purchase another product of theirs. The issue I am having is the same issue many others have had, and yet no answer. Poor customer service!

  • HT1386 my iPhone will no longer sync with iTunes.  running a pc with win 8/64bit

why won't my iPhone sync with iTunes?  i'm running latest version of iTunes on a PC OS Win 8/64bit?

It's ridiculous how difficult this is.  I've reinstalled iTunes, played with the settings, and it just doesn't work.
It will happily sync my computer library (which has nothing in it) with my phone library (589 songs) thereby (presumably) wiping out the 589 songs.
But I can't get it to sync the other way and copy the iPhone library to the computer.
It also puts new CDs on the computer but not on the phone, where I want them.
Is there anyone at Apple that cares about this abject stupidity in the software?

  • IPod Classic not recognized by iTunes 9.0.2.25 and Win 7

After upgrading to Win 7 from Vista, the OS and iTunes don't recognize my iPod Classic.
The only suggestion given by the new OS is to go to Win Update and download the latest drivers. There are none listed for my iPod.
    Suggestions????

I finally found a solution to this, please read it here: http://randomwindowstips.wordpress.com/2009/12/08/windows-7-itunes-9-software-is -not-installed/

  • Error when downloading itunes 7 to laptop, somthing about win 32

I have an error that is not letting me download itunes. Can someone help. It says something about valid win 32.

Just a quick point. When you download iTunes do you press run or save?
You need to SAVE the download file, usually in My Download Files although it doesn't really matter. Then once it has been saved you can run it.
But perhaps this is what you did already?

  • ITunes 10.1.2 upgrade on  Win XP Pro SP3 Kills Internet access

The latest iTunes 10.1.2 install on my Win XP Pro SP3 system kills my Internet access. Internet status shows that I'm connected but Internet Explorer and Firefox can't connect to the server. Running Win XP Pro SP3 with all MS updates applied on a Dual-Core Intel 6600 chip, 4 gig of memory and a couple of terabytes of hard drive. When I do a restore from my backup hard drive to the prior OS and iTunes version, everything is back to normal. I didn't receive any error notifications both times from the install. I first did the install from the Apple website directly (and lost Internet access), then restored my backup system and downloaded the update separately and then installed and lost Internet access again. Am now back up using iTunes 10.1.1.4. Is this update from Egypt? (supposed to be funny).
    Thanks-
    Richard

Thanks for the link. I noticed that "Swut" from Orange County, Ca (see the post below) had a reply in the link you gave me referring to "Vipre" , which is an Anti-Virus program that I also use, like "Swut".
I will investigate this further. In defense of Apple, there is no way that they can test against every bit of software that we run on these PCs. I would hope that if we find out that there is some problem with the Vipre interface, both Apple and the Vipre people will be made aware of the problem.
Before I try the iTunes 10.2.1 upgrade again, I'll contact Sunbelt Software- the people who make Vipre and see if they have heard of this problem. I'll let all of you know what the results are.
    Thanks- Richard Van Nostrand

I didn't have to go all the way through with TRG10987s solution. When I got to step 4 I noticed that VIPRE had installed multiple virtual network adapters on to of the network adapters. I uninstalled VIPRE thereby deleting the virtual adapters ran the upgrade, and reinstalled VIPRE. Everything works fine now.

  • How do I install iTunes 10.5 on my PC Win XP

How do I update to iTunes 10.5 on my PC running Win XP?  (Just updated iPad to latest IOS)

The forums for members of Apple's developer programs are here:
    http://developer.apple.com/devforums/
If you're not doing development yourself, I would advise against installing either iTunes 10.5 or especially iOS 5. Both are beta software and almost certainly have faults and incomplete features. You definitely should not install iOS 5 on any device you depend on for general use.
    Regards.

  • ITunes fails to install automatically on Win 7 64-bit computer

iTune always fails to install automatically, and advises me to select to only download the updates, and then to install them manually. Well, there are five files that download: 1) AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi, 2)iTunes64.msi, 3)QuickTime.msi, 4) QuickTimeInstallerAdmin.exe, and 5)SetupAdmin.exe.
There are no further instructions as to which to install or in what sequence. So, I selected the iTunes64.msi, and after several "...verify that you have access to that directory" dialogue boxes, it installed -- (I do have version 10 now). But my iTunes doesn't say whether it is the 64-bit or 32-bit version that has been installed. How can I determine if I have installed the 64- or 32- bit version? And what do I do with the other files that were downloaded? Help, please!
I would truly 'perciate any advise!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • How to preent iTunes 7.5 from crashing My Win XP

    Dear All,
Am a new iPhone user, and I tried the last few days to synchronize my iPhone to my laptop using iTunes, but every single time my windows crashes and restarts when connecting iPhone thru USB to my laptop. Win XP recognize that a digital camera is hooked first, and then reboots. I searched and looked into many solutions provided in this forum like updating my driver of Logitech webcam, and doing a selective start up or diagnostic start up in my windows, also tried to uninstall ad install iTunes, but I failed to solve this problem! I just need t use iTunes to sync. my contacts and calendar
    My details:
Acer laptop with Win XP Pro SP2
    iPhone 1.0.2
    iTunes 7.5
    Logitech Driver 9.4.4.1082
    PLEASE HELP !!

I have the exact same problem, but after two days of searching still cannot find an answer. Next step is Apple Tech Support via phone. I have everything working on my new iPhone except syncing with my new Dell notebook & Windows XP Pro SP2. Interestingly enough I have a 1-year old Dell notebook, XP Pro SP2, and it syncs fine there. This is the only other tip I found, using Event Viewer for the System and finding this error.
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( iPod Service ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.
Will keep looking and report back.

  • TS3430 OIn article TS3430; I have iTunes 10.6.1.7 on Win 7 Hm Prem x64. I looked where the file locations of Plug-ins are provided, issues were: 1)In the fldr on the \Users... Path, the Plug-ins fldr was empty, 2)No Plug-ins fldr in Prog Files or Prog Fil

Does this mean that I do not have ANY plug-ins or is there likely to be another cause.

    I wish Apple paid attention...
On this Forum, Apple does not pay attention.  This is a user to user forum.
For that exact reason, we have no ability to fix bugs in iTunes.  You can however, report them directly to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
I see that you do not care for the workaround that I proposed, which is of course entirely up to you.

  • ITunes won't recogonize iPod in Win. 8.1

I have a 4th Gen iPod Classic connected to my Lenovo laptop running iTunes 12.2.1.27. When I can get iTunes to see the iPod, which is not always the case, all my music is greyed out and inaccessible. I cannot update or sync anything on the iPod. Often, however, iTunes won't even see the iPod. I have about 83GB of books, films and music on the 160GB drive and am hesitant to wipe everything and go back to factory default, but I'm wondering if that's the only option left. I also cannot get iTunes to see my primary iTunes database -- it only will see what's on the C: drive. I've redirected the preferences to my G: drive but is not recognized at all.
What must I do to get this unit working again? I do not recall if it ever was removed without first going through the eject procedure, but if that did happen, could that have caused the havoc? If so, how would I fix that?
    Thanks
    Capros

    Hello Capros,
Let's see if we can get these two issues resolved. For issues with your iPod not seen in iTunes, the first article will have you verify the drivers are installed as well as making sure that your computer sees the iPod. Now for your iTunes relocation, you will want to keep the database located on the C: drive but keep the settings of where the actual media is located on your G: drive.
