ITunes 9.2.1.5 won't run

I have tried upgrading to 9.2.1.5 about six times. I am told the program was successfully installed but when I attempt to open it I get the message "ITunes can not run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall ITunes". I have read and followed kb article HT1925 instructions but it still will not open.
Why o why did I decide to upgrade when the previous version worked fine!!!

Thanks b noir. iTunes 9.2.1.5 would not open on bootup today. I downloaded Revo Uninstaller Pro, uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and Apple Applications Support along with all leftover files. I then downloaded 9.2.5.1 and installed it using Uninstaller Pro. For some unknown reason the installation progress screens appeared in Spanish. I thought maybe it was going to work when the message said it had been successfully installed, but when I tried to open iTunes I got the following message (translated from the Spanish):
"The archive iTunes Library.itl can not be read because it was created with a more recent version of iTunes". When I clicked on OK the message disappeared butnothing further happened.
Does anyone know if Apple is working on all these installation problems?

  • ITunes 7 is installed but won't run

I recently installed iTunes onto my computer and it opened, but I wasn't able to connect to the music store. A friend suggested uninstalling, performing a system restore to an earlier date and try again. Well now iTunes installs, but it won't run. HELP!

    Hi Everyone.
This is a real disapointment from apple to us!
At this moment all we know that this is a BIGGER BUG ISSUE on the V7 upgrade.
I can't figure out how the apple guys give us an update that ***** in the main pourpouse of it ...LISTEN MUSIC!!!
I recommend that you uninstall the itunes as the quicktime, then reinstall to the V6.5 version and I hope that you have an iTunes Library.itl file backup because as a very GOOD ENDING the V7 give a new structure to this important file and will not be read again for previous itunes versions.
You can find the iTunes Library.itl at \My Documents\My Music\iTunes if you have a previous version to replace it.
By now, I hope that apple give us another new V.7 version fixing this bug among others and the testers can do their job as they receive their checks.
This is a very "punchself" for Jobs and Apple team then their last days announcements.
    Good luck to all!!

  • ITunes can't find music & won't run at all

A couple weeks ago we changed servers. All of my iTunes music was on the old server; now it on the new server (with a different server name).
When I try to run iTunes an error message comes up saying iTunes cannot find or create the iTunes directory. When you acknowledge the error it simply drops back to Windows and never runs iTunes. You have no opportunity to go into preferences to tell it the new directory.
I've tried removing iTunes an reinstalling. And going into the Registry and removing references to iTunes. Nothing helps.

this document is a good place to start with that one:

  • Moved iTunes from 'C' to 'E' drive - won't run!

A while back I had my kids move itunes from the 'c' drive to the 'e' drive. I don't think they really knew what they were doing, they lost alot of music, but at least it was running.
Yesterday, I went to upgrade it, by clicking upgrade from itunes while it was running. I thought it would automatically update it in the 'e' drive. It did not. I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't. I did an iTunes search and tried to manually move files from the 'c' to the 'e' drive. It isn't working. There is an itunes version still on the 'c' drive - it's running, but it is empty with no music. The itunes on the 'e' drive won't run at all. I have downloaded it, installed it, restarted the computer several times, but it continues state that files are missing and it won't run.
I sure hope I didn't lose their music! OMG!
    Please help!
    One frantic mom,
    Thank you!

You can move your music wheresoever you desire on your computer but the iTunes application itself - the program - is much happier when it stays on the C: drive. It sounds like you've tried moving the program which may well be the cause of your problems.
You are still able to start iTunes on the C: drive though, right? But the Library display is blank?
In that case, the easiest way to get back on track is to start all over again with your iTunes Library by by following the instructions in the Add to Library section of this KB article .
This will update iTunes with a list of all the files you add but will not maintain any of your playlists or related information (playcounts, dates added, dates last played, ratings, comments, etc.)

  • TA48312 where can I download iTunes 10.1 - my iPhone 3G won't run on iTunes9.2.1? I'm running PowerBkG4 & OS 10.4.11. Thanks Sean

Think this is not right somehow but I'm trying to sync an old iPhone 3G with this PBkG4 running iTunes 9 but it refuses and tells me I need iTunes 10.1 or higher. I can;t find this to download. Can anyone help?

iTunes 10.1 won't run on Mac OS X 10.4. You must buy Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD to use that iPhone with a G4 or G5 Mac; places such as Amazon sell it.
As iTunes 10.1 won't run on any configuration which iTunes 10.5.3 won't run on, Apple no longer makes it available to the public.

I installed iTunes on my Dell PC running Windows 7 and now Internet Explorer crashes and won't run. Are there any known conflicts, or likely issues that may be causing this?
I've rebooted, and the iTunes program seems to operate fine. I used it to upgrade my iPad's OS to 8.1.3.

  • I have a 4g touch. I updated ibook in itunes and now, every time I sync, I get the message that the app won't run in os6. Is there any way I can revert the app in itunes so I have the latest version that will work with OS6?

I recently updated ibook in my Itunes.  Now, every time I sync, I get the message that it won't update the ipod as ibook won't run in OS6. Is there any way I can revert the ibook app in itunes so it quits trying to install the current ibook app. I am trying to stop getting the warning message. I am also concerned if I ever have to reinstall the app.

Delete the app from the iTunes library on your computer and then transfer the version from iPod to computer by:

  • Itunes installer won't run in Windows 7

I am trying to install the latest version of itunes on my new laptop and the installer won't run.  It is a samsung sereis 7 notebook running Windows 7.
I have downloaded itunes multiple times and tried running as administrator.  I do not get any error, and occasionally a progress bar will flash up on screen for a couple of seconds but then nothing happens.  Other times I don't even get the progress bar, just nothing happens when I try to open the installer.
Would appreciate any help with this problem.  Its driving me crazy not being able to add new music to my ipod!

  • ITunes 7 won't run after reinstalled XP MediaCenter & reinstall iTunes7

We made backup copies of the iTunes folder on an external HD, then reinstalled WinXp MediaCenter (not full clean install) and moved iTunes files back from the external HD, then reinstalled new iTunes 7; however, it won't run now. When we click on the icon, it just says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience. If you are in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us." We've tried reinstalling iTunes many times. We've turned Antivirus & Wndows firewall off and on when installing, but no difference.
Anyone got any suggestions because my wife and 2 teenagers are lost without their iTunes and iPods.
    Thanks,

Someone in a different forum said to be sure that iTunes is installed under the primary user with Administrator Privileges. I'm pretty sure I did that, but I'll try it again to see what happens.

If you have a 1G (first generation) iPod touch then it can only go to iOS 3.1.3. To identify yours:

If you need a higher iOS, you will have to get a newer model iPod.

  • Itunes won't run, Win 7 Pro 64 Bit

Itunes 11.0.1 will not run. For that matter 10.X won't run either. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. Multiple uninstall's and reinstalls, still no joy. I am extremely displeased (I own 5 Apple products crippled by this).

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)
