Itunes 9.2 does not see my iphone 3GS

I have now reinstalled itunes 9.2 3 times in order to download the new software verion for my iphon. First it kep saying there were files missing so I reinstalled and reinstalled. Now I can see my library in itunes but it will not see my iphone, nor will it charge the phone. I have used different USB ports and iphone connectors all to no avail. Can anyone help please?

The same thing happened to me and it took me days to figure it out. Check the USB drivers. I noticed after updating/uninstalling/re-installing itunes 9.2, windows would update the latest drivers to my iphone when I connect it for the first time. It did this every time. Windows kept giving it a generic camera driver. Although it recognized it as an Apple iPhone, make sure it finds this driver: usaapl found in the c:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device\drivers folder (Windows Vista 64-bit)
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 gives you instructions on how to fix this.
Good luck!

  • Why doesn't iTunes 11.0.4 not see my iPhone 6.1.3?

I have the iPhone 4 running on iOS 6.1.3, my iPhoto sees the phone as a digital camera. iTunes how ever does not see my iPhone so that I can sync them together, I've had my phone for about 2 months and have my tech friends look into this and tried everything but reformatting my MacBook Pro. Does anyone know how I can get my iPhone to set up as a new phone on my laptop or to at least get iTunes to see my phone? Please help.

  • My laptop does not recognize my iPhone 3GS as a camera device. I need to import my photos and videos and don't know how

    Hi everyone,
my laptop does not recognize my iPhone 3GS as a camera device anymore.
I need to import my photos and videos and don't know how.
The iPhone does charge when I plus it in the USB hub but it does not ask me to import the photos anymore
and it also doesn't show it as a device when I click on the "computer" button where an SD card or an Usb stick would normally be displayed..
I don't know what to do

Thank you, randers4! I now plugged it directly into the ports of my laptop and it's still not recognized.
Does the app Photosync work for more than a thousand photos or will this take me forever?
    Thanks a lot

  • ITunes 11 does not see my iPhone

I installed iTunes 11 with software-update and got an error-message (see screenshot, german), nevertheless it was updated.
It works fine, but it does not see either my iPhone or my iPad in the list on the left side. There are no devices ...
    Thanks for help ...

And suddenly, after 2 restarts, it´s there.
Problem solved. No idea why it works now.

  • ITunes 10.5.0.142 does not recognize my iPhone 3GS

My PC is running Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit OS.  My iTunes and iPhone syncing has been flaky since I began using this machine in July, 2011 but was working.  However, now iTunes does not recognize my iPhone at all.  Previously I was able to force a sync by opening iTunes and then plugging in the phone, but now that is no longer working.  The iPhone is recognized by the computer as it does charge, I can see it as a device in Window's Explorer and it asks what I would like to do with the photos / videos.
Here is the latest info on what is installed for each device:
    - iTunes:  10.5.0.142
    - iPhone:  OS 5.0.1, Firmware 05.16.05
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Feel free to ask further questions as I'm not exactly sure what other information to provide at the present time; I'm pretty much at a loss right now.
    Thanks!

I am having the same problem. I have a 16Gb iPhone 3GS ios v 4.2.1 with iTunes v 10.5, yet when I connect the phone it tells me there are no updates available. I have 2 iPads, an iMac and a Macbook pro - all of which have upgraded successfully. I thought ios5 was available for the 3GS iPhone. Anyone got any ideas?

  • I updated itunes64 (W7) and now it does not see my iphone 4

Downloaded Itunes 10.2 and ran the update. Immediatley after, Itunes no longer recognised the iphone, or my Ipad although it appears in windows.
    - It seems to hang for a long time before it decides it does not see it. I have spent hours on this and have tried:
1.) Uninstalling and reinstalling all Iphone, Itunes and Quicktime files and associated files in the user/application data folders
2.) Have been through the registry and deleted all keys associated with apple, itunes, quicktime (took forever)
3.) have deleted any file created by Apple Corporation in sys32 sysWOW64.
4.) have deleted the apple folders in my music.

  • ITunes 11.1 does not connect to iPhone 4 (iOS 7)

I have updated both the iTunes (11.1, running on WIN XP) and my iPhone 4 (iOS 7) today.
Unfortunatelly, the iTunes does not recognize the iPhone since this update. When I connect the phone there is always an errors message saying: "iTunes could not connet to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred. (0xE8000003)".
I did virtually everything what I could (during some 8-10 hours of attempting to solve out this issue). I tried all methods following the instructions from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    However, nothing helped out.
I even removed/uninstalled the complete Apple software (iTunes, Quicktime, Safari, Apple mobile device, Bonjour,...) using a special removing utility, I cleaned up the registry, I created a new user account in WIN, I virtually swept out all Apple stuff from my computer. Twice.
But nothing worked out. Still the same issue like 12 hours ago: "iTunes could not connet to this iPhone..."
Any idea which may help to a desperate guy please?
(Do not tell me to buy a MacBook.)

Not possible. Mirroring relies on hardware. It needs a later processor in order to do real-time encoding of the video.

  • IPhoto does not see my iPhone 3G (since 3.0) on G5 but does on MacBookPro

I have repaired permissions from start up disk, used Disk Warrior, rebuilt permissions within iPhoto.
My PPC G5 1.8 just will not see my iPhone 3G since I upgraded yesterday to 3.0. iTunes sees it fine.
My MacBook Pro iPhoto sees iPhone as normal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Itunes 10 does not 'see' my iphone after upgrading my Imac to Snow leopard

    Hi,
I just upgraded my iMac to Snow Leopard 10.6.3. When I plug my iphone (4) (USB), Itunes does not sync my phone, and it does not even appear as being connected to my iMac. I dont have any other issues.
I should add that I always have connected my Iphone through the USB on the keyboard, as I dont have enough USB slots in the back. This has worked just fine in the past. The keyboard is wired.

Try plugging it into one of the USB ports on the Mac itself and see if that works.

  • ITunes 10 does not see my iphone 3g

I have done all the steps on the apple website, including reinstalling itunes 10 and rebooting my machine countless times. All the required services (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device, and iPod Helper) are running in the administrative tools, and yet my iphone 3g (and my ipad) does not show up on itunes 10.

I have this same problem since loading a new computer from my time capsule.... did you ever get an answer?

  • ITunes 10.1 does not recognize my iPhone 3G anymore (0xE800000A)

I have participated to another question in this forum that I believe had a similar if not same question:
I have recently tried to connect my iPhone 3G to iTunes (v. 10.1) in order to update it to iOS4.2 and sync some music. When I connected the phone, the following error message appeared:
'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800000A).'
Ever since I have searched for solutions and I am not even sure that the error fully relates to iTunes as all the other comments I found in other threats were talking about 'USB bus issues' and 'Apple Remote Devices' that then again do not seem to apply to my problem either. All my USB ports work just fine and the cable connecting the phone with the computer is good as well (my iPod is using the same cable and is recognized).
Another user suggested downloading and installing the iOS4.2.sdk, which I now downloaded but cannot open because it is 'not recognized'. I wonder whether this relates to the same issue or whether I should need to install that package in a special location (I am the main user of the computer with all admin rights and have never seen any disk images not being recognized...)?
I am frankly a bit at a loss now. Not that I urgently need to upgrade my software for the phone and also music syncing is not that important right now but I would like to know what causes it and if there is ever going to be a solution for it.
Actually, for one: is there a possibility to re-install an earlier version of iTunes? When following the suggestions on the help pages, I completely uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it but the problem still persisted (even with restarts between the steps). I do believe that this all started when I actually upgraded iTunes to 10.1. I synced the phone just fine before and the next time I connected it I had upgraded iTunes to the newest version and now synchronization does not work anymore.
    Anyone any tips?
Thank you so much in advance.

Yikes! I just had the exact same problem, but thankfully found a better solution.
This may have been added since you had your problem, but the very very last last thing on this support page finally fixed my problem http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3221 :
    1. Disconnect all iOS devices from your computer, and quit iTunes.
    2. From the Finder, choose Go > Go to folder.
    3. Type the following and press then Return:
    /var/db/lockdown
    4. The Finder window should display one or more files with long alphanumeric file names.
    5. In the Finder, choose Edit > Select all. Then, choose File > Move to Trash. Enter an administrator password if prompted to.
Note: Do not delete the lockdown folder itself. Only delete the files contained inside the lockdown folder.
    6. Reconnect your iOS device and open iTunes.
Most of the search results I found for this error were on Windows--frustrating. This is the only Mac solution I found that actually worked.
I'm guessing the /var/db/lockdown directory isn't restored in a Time Machine backup, so that's why your wipe fixed it.

  • MacBook Pro does not see my iPhone 4 at all..!!

I've read a lot of the discussion on this and it seems that ...1- Apple clearly don't listen to feedback!  2- the spiel about Iphoto being included with every mac since 2002 is not a true statement! 3- iTunes might see the iPhone but is not all that useful in its sync capacity! 4- the problem still exists even after all the stupid upgrades, updates etc, power on with iPhone connected/unconnected, multiple restarts, uninstalling/re-installing all manner of apps and software...ETC
where to now people? I am really stuck..!!
Side note but interesting just the same...my old windows pc used to sync and do the photo import thing just fine....yet a product from the same parent company just can't seem to get the same result....have i made a error in trying to be apple loyal?

Connect the iphone to the MBP and manually launch iTunes. Then check the box launch iTunes when the iphone is connected.

  • IPhoto does not see my iPhone 5s

    Hey gang-
I have a brand new iPhone 5S with lots of new pictures that I wanted to import into iPhoto.  But for some reason it is not recognized by iPhoto and does not appear when connected.  I'm connected directly via USB (not a hub) to my late-2013 iMac running the latest Mavericks.   I've rebooted both iPhone and Computer.
Note that my iPhone is recognized perfectly by iTunes.   I have the iPhoto prefs set to Open iPhoto on Connecting a Camera.   I also checked in Image Capture and it doesn't recognize my iPhone.   I also tried all steps in this Apple KB article:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3195?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
I've found some old posts here in the forums about this but nothing very recent.   What to try next?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Hey gang-
Problem solved and replying to my own post in case this helps somebody!
In the many many threads describing this exact same problem, I came upon one that suggested deleting any photos in my iPhone Camera Roll that were not actually taken by my iPhone.   Primarily we're talking photos that were shared via email and saved to the Camera Roll.
Needless to say this was not a quick process given the 1,300 or so photos in my Camera Roll, but I did it and 'voila the iPhone is again recogized by iPhoto.
    Cheers!

  • Itunes 10.2 does not show connected Iphone

After using software upgrade to 10.2 my Iphone3G will not appear in ITunes. IPhoto knows it's plugged in so I'm pretty sure it's not the USB/connection. Tried multiple restarts/re-boots of both computer and phone. Read through an earlier topic here that said it's solved but it's not.

Similarily, my mac wasnt recognising my iphone 3gs, and when i tried to download 10.2 i tunes from the "check for updates" option inside itunes. No luck after doing all the usual things (rebooting, reloading etc). But when i downloaded the dmg file from the itunes WEBSITE, this worked fine, and my iphone is now also syncing as it used to. Hope this helps anyone with same irritating problem. Thanks
